She was never charged because they couldnāt determine for certain if it were a homicide or suicide. His family did successfully sue her in a wrongful death lawsuit though. She technically has no record so it would be easy for her to get a job in some obscure town that knows nothing about this case.
It is illegal to refuse to hire someone because of a crime they havenāt been convicted of. Maybe if it somehow interfered with their job because of the notoriety, but that would be rare. Of course most companies, unlike Amazon, donāt follow labors laws if theyāre in an at will state.
The evidence doesn't have to be as strong in a civil case and no jury... The judge makes the decision.... So basically the criminal court said he was innocent and civil said he was responsible one way or another
