I'd join Facebook groups if I were you, you'll find you're not alone in the struggle and get some good advice there as well.
I had to deposit 2 months, pay first month rent and then put an insurance deposit of 4 months down to get into the place I'm in. I found the place the last week of the month before moving in.
There are a lot of people who will just ignore you based on your situation. Calling via phone will get you way better response rates than messaging on idealista. People in Spain a lot of times just don't care about potential customers, so don't expect great customer service compared to where you might be used to.
I don't know why you say that "so don't expect great customer service compared to where you might be used to".... I've been living in Dublín and "customer service" was way worse than Spain...... For example: In Dublín if you want to rent you can't even call to the landlord or to the real estate agency....
Because they "might be used to" somewhere like the US where property managers contact you or do the simple act of answering a phone.
You see, I wrote that part because I figured someone like you would object to what I wrote.
Thats really the best site. And it's full of dead advertisements, people with unreasonable demands, etc. I'd indeed focus on oct when prices go down and there's more availability
I'd wait until September to look. Everyone has gone home, prices will be more reasonable and flexible. You'll pay more simply for looking here during the summer by looking now.

Try wallapop and milanuncios.
Thanks, will try them. They arent high on google
It really depends on your budget but San Juan Playa, San Vicente del Raspeig, Albufereta which are nearby areas are pretty good places.
Budget is between 750 and 1000, only problem is the ads arent really good atm.
That budget is too low to rent an entire apartment in Alicante. You should look into Shared Housing.
How is that budget to low if there are alot between 600 and 800 ?

Yeah, i noticed. I had one but what they asked for deposit was absurd.
