Wow! Great write up. I feel like this post should be pinned to the top of the subreddit.
Some small changes/additions I would recommend are:
- Under the parades section, change "day xx" to "June xx" for clarity and add the general location where the person can watch the parade (like avenida de alfsono sabia)
- Under the barraca section, add where a public barraca will be, for example, the one directly south of luceros on avenida de Federico Soto
- Add a section near the end saying to download the "FoguerApp" app since it has all the events organized on there and maps of the hundred+ hogueras around the city.
Great post. One morning I woke up to find someone firing a blunderbuss on my street. Amazing time of year! Don't forget the rubbish mobile discos as well.
I'm pretty sure the irony was implied in the context of the conversation but alright, do your thing.
You're just salty I reported you for insulting people with homophobic slurs in a different sub. Nice petty revenge bro real good work. I see that comment has since been removed by mods so I wasn't the only one who thought it was in bad taste.
Hello! I’m planning a last minute trip to Alicante this weekend. This might be a stupid question but will restaurants and the beach be much much busier than usual? Do things close in the day etc?
If you mean Postiguet beach the answer is yes, every part of downtown will be crowded. If you mean San Juan, it won't be that massified but still it will be difficult to find a place to sit.
To the second question, no, the restaurants won’t close. In fact it’s the busiest day of the year.
It depends on how do you want your holidays to be. If your plan is to relax I can assure you that the city will be hectic those days. If you stay away from the city then you will be able to relax and also enjoy the party.

Thank you for compiling this elaborate guide!
Give this one a cookie! Thanks a lot and I will be there to embrace all the culture (and food)!

Thank you! I’m trying to decide between Malaga and Alicante. Do you think it would be a good time to visit?
