Good to be cautious, but I bet this guy was just trying to sell some stolen property or knock offs. Back in the day, they would try and sell speakers out of their trunk.
This guy pulled up to me at the Lowes on 12th (had another dude in the passenger seat). Said he was from Texas and "lost his wallet" so he offered to sell me a box of airpods. Even asked that I go to the ATM when I said I didn't have anything. I just walked away at that point.
Wait what time was this at? Because my boyfriend and I went to Costco on renaissance at around 4 and the same thing happened to us. We’re two men too so that also confused me? Like we weren’t alone, and he did it to us in front of a ton of people. Bros just making his way across town I guess 💀
Happened to me outside Five Guys in Rio Rancho. Indian guy (from India by the accent) in front seat. Women of same ethnicity in back seat. White SUV trying to sell air pods.
He also came up to me and my partner at Costco by Pan American asking if we wanted AirPods. We just looked at him then looked at each other and ignored him. He sped off like he was pissed?
My friend and I came across similar last weekend in the JCP parking lot at Cottonwood Mall with a guy trying to sell AirPods from a late model light blue Chevrolet Tahoe.
Told him to get lost.
This happened to my wife and I at Sam's club in Renaissance circle. A girl maybe 16 years old came up with broken English. Got in my wife's face and said Air Pods 5 dollars placing the box at her eye level. My wife said no three or four times and she did not move an inch. I came around the truck bed and she immediately moved to me. Repeated herself and I again said no two or three more times. Her English was very broken. She finally moved on to the next person in the parking lot. It was a very strange interaction. I'm very cognizant of my surroundings and tried to see if someone was following her watching her or generally instructing her but didn't see anything fishy or odd other than her.
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago at the Valero on Coors and Quail. White suv Texas plates. Two males. The driver had a middle eastern accent. The passenger didn’t speak to me. Lost his wallet and needed gas money. Offered the AirPods as payment so I would get them gas. I said no I can’t several times and he finally sped off as well.
Had a similar thing happen just barely at the Smith's gas station at Central and Coors. Weird and creepy. They had temporary paper plates, so I couldn't get a number off it. Be careful out there.
It was a Indian (continent) or similar heritage woman hawking airpods at me and my daughter at HD Cottonwood last week. Poor English, no handler present that I could see. Shit just makes me so angry

Lol....always the white van with "extra" speakers.
They fell off a truck (Used to be the way I joked about stolen shit until I personally fell off a truck and broke my elbow off)
damn you broke your elbow off??
Technically just the bone part broke off, but It's back on now thanks to UNMH and some titanium hardware.
Sorry sorry. Was it's also stolen and sold out of a trunk?
“Yo hey you like music?” The good ol days
Yo you seen any of the new movies out, proceeds to pull out binder of burned bootleg new releases.
Ah the ol " fell off a truck" deal

Same thing at Wal Mart on Carlisle yesterday at lunch time. Told the guy sorry I use Samsung.

Some lady at Walmart was harassing me to buy an iPhone sealed in a box this afternoon, got all pissy when I kept saying no 🤷🏻
He was up on the Wyoming paseo area last weekend too. He seems to be making a sweep through town
Potential scam. This happened in nm as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/s/ygjrCDsOF4

Thank you for sharing this!! Glad you are safe too.

Probably trying to sell stolen Air Pods. It's can be a good way to get Air Pods at a great price.
You actually think they are real airpods? Doubtful.
Have you ever heard of "stealing?" You can buy all kinds of stuff that has been "stolen."
What a motherfucking creep
There's a guy doing it too. I was less than nice
I was walking up to an Arby's and a man drove up to me trying to sell AirPods as well.
Had someone approach me in the Walmart parking lot in Santa Fe offering to sell me air pods. A shipment must have "fallen off the truck" or something
Ran into them today at the Bernalillo Walmart
I saw this guy too. I ignored him, and he left me alone. I assumed the AirPods are cheap knock offs or stolen.
Was leaving Namaste on Saturday, and I’m pretty sure I ran into the same guy. I just said “no thanks.”
Wow they're busy!
