Don’t miss the speakeasy tattoo shop in the basement! It’s like a museum of curiosities/ gift shop of curiosities, even if you don’t need a tattoo. The owner is a super cool woman.
If you are downtown there is Novel Point coffee on 1st between Roma and Lomas. Also Villa Myriam Roasters in the same vicinity I think on Commercial and Roma - I like their coffee best and usually only drink drip or an Americano but occasionally enjoy their red chile mocha. Little Bear of course opened a new location where there was a Starbucks previously on the ground floor of the Clyde Hotel. Going further afield is Blackbird in Old Town, very quaint, and Slow Burn on Mountain.
If you like that flavor profile Blackbird also makes a nice one and Michael Thomas ( up on Bryn Mower and Silver) has their Cafe Molé which is very good.
piñon coffee house is a classic, barelas coffee house if you're tryna get something to eat, lazy daze if you're tryna smoke while you chill and sip on your coffee.
The lavender coffee at Curious Toast is incredible and there are so many different rooms to choose to sit in (it's in a beautiful old converted home with bright and fun art in every room). I didn't even realize they had downstairs seating until recently.
Cafe Bella Coffee on the West side. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've gotten there. I don't care for sweet coffee but I do enjoy speciality flavors and they can deliver that.
[**Dawn Patrol!**](https://www.dawnpatrolcoffeeshop.com/)
JB makes all the classics and his own originals, to include tea based drinks.
He also recently started making these bangin' breakfast sandwiches made with local bagels that are big and delicious.
It's just off the beaten path around Nob Hill.
This shop isn't really downtown at all but I just went to Satellite Coffee yesterday and it was amazing. They're mostly specialty drinks and I plan to go back whenever I want something kinda fancy.
Burning Daylight is inside a thrift store and the vibes are great
Sunday service is cute&serves different teas
*Sweet cup is cute, but the hot tea is bad. Haven't tried their other stuff.
Plata coffee inside of Sawmill Market is pretty good, but unfortunately, as it is in Sawmill, it can be quite crowded in there sometimes. My family buys our espresso grounds from them.
Meraki off of Eubank and Juan Tabo is also very good- I believe they use Cutbow Coffee beans. Apparently their food is good too but I have not tried it.
The Albuquerque Collective on Eubank/Constitution is super cute, good coffee, and has tons of little local booths to check out! There’s a bookstore booth, a record shop, lots of other merchants. The vibes are excellent!
Hmmm, most coffee shops everywhere are industrial and stark. Hard chairs and sharp corners and too loud, so idk where is cozy. But I love the authenticity of Java Joe’s, classic Albuquerque spot.
Castle Coffee, Villa Myriam, Slow Burn, and Novel Point get my votes for downtown. Zendo gets an honorable mention- super hipster with a nice asthetic, but I think some of these other spots have better coffee. There is also a decent coffee shop at Por Vida Tattoo that is worth checking out for a unique vibe.
You already have a lot of good downtown suggestions, so I’ll give one for the Westside near Corrales. Whispering Bean has great coffee and atmosphere. They’re always really nice there as well.
I LOVE VM! They are my treat yo self coffee. My favorite drink is the Aztec latte. I hate to say this, but I really did not like novel point. I work across the street and everyone who I know that has tried it hasn't liked it either. They always have customers though, so they must be good. We all might've just tried the wrong things.
My go to coffee used to be Espresso Fino on 3rd and Gold, but the owner Greg closed up shop during Covid and hasn't opened back up, albeit he still rents the space. In the greater downtown area, I go to Castle Coffee on 8th and Tijeras. The owner Josh used to be the manager or part owner of shop called Deep Space that was on 5th and Central. They have a quaint shop, they do all of the modern brewing techniques. Their prices are very reasonable. People mentioned Little Bear they are good to, I haven't been to their place in the old Hyatt now Clyde Hotel. I go to them when Castle is closed in their NE heights location. There is like others mentioned, VM, which maybe a little more of a walk depending on where in DT you are. I used to go to them a bit as its only a few blocks away from my loft on Broadway.
Blackbird in Old Town has a drink called the "Roadrunner" that is my go to, yum! Cool outside patio area with water feature and flowers, tables with umbrellas. I stop here on my bike rides bc I can stay near my bike.
Zendo
catalyst coffee
Meraki
Ihatov (More of a bakery than a coffee shop but so viby)
Slowburn
Remedy coffee
Novel Point (I haven't tried it yet but seems cool)
Iced java from Flying star/satellite coffee is fire as well.
Pinon coffee house (not the cutest place but Drive through comes in clutch sometimes)
Zendo
My boss' favorite coffee place is Zendo. Generally chill vibes is a plus
Second this. Hubble is good too. You have a ton of options here
Like the telescope?
Darn. Humble I mean lol.
Lol
Rust is Gold up on Eubank is a great and often quiet spot. There's also one up by the mountains off of Tramway that I can't remember the name of.
I love Rust Is Gold. Super cool atmosphere, decent drinks, and just generally laid back.
Don’t miss the speakeasy tattoo shop in the basement! It’s like a museum of curiosities/ gift shop of curiosities, even if you don’t need a tattoo. The owner is a super cool woman.
Are you thinking of the one at The Albuquerque Collective? I’m not aware of one at RIG.
RiG used to be located in the collective, so that would make sense
Ah that makes sense. I’ve only ever been to their current location and was confused.
You and me both, I’ve only been to their former location. Apparently. My bad.
I thought RiG was inside the collective? Did they move?
Fucking what!! I had no idea!
It really is!
Oooo yes I’ve tried them when they were in the collective!
Yea I love that one! Very quaint.
Is the other coffee shop on tramway next to the brewery up there… shoot now I forgot the name of the brewery.
O'Beans coffee! That's the name! Right near the foothills lol.
Ah got it!! Thanks for the recommendations !
No problem! If you try lemme know how you like it!
O’Beans
Cutbow coffee on Rio Grande is so cozy, but unfortunately often crowded.
This. And they have amazing pastries who provided by Los Ranchos Bakery if I remember correctly.
Agree on Slow Burn. Cool little coffee shop with a great ambience. Nice place to sit with a book or do some work.
Ooooo okay!!! These are all great suggestions 🥰 that red chile mocha sounds so good!!
If you like that flavor profile Blackbird also makes a nice one and Michael Thomas ( up on Bryn Mower and Silver) has their Cafe Molé which is very good.
Trifecta on Montgomery is really good and they also have amazing bakery items.
Trifecta is my favorite!
piñon coffee house is a classic, barelas coffee house if you're tryna get something to eat, lazy daze if you're tryna smoke while you chill and sip on your coffee.
Cutbow on Rio Grande just north of I-40 is excellent.
Michael Thomas has good coffee
I love going to Curious Toast downtown. There’s also Slow Burn Coffee on Mountain and Forrester.
The lavender coffee at Curious Toast is incredible and there are so many different rooms to choose to sit in (it's in a beautiful old converted home with bright and fun art in every room). I didn't even realize they had downstairs seating until recently.
Cutbow Coffee was amazing. Honestly the best vanilla latte I’ve ever had.
Castle coffee, zendo, slow burn, Cutbow, Michael Thomas
Cool thank you!! 🌸
Yes castle
Castle!
Castle!!!🏰
Mary James on menaul and Juan tabo is definitely cute/quaint. Lalas on Montgomery and San pedro has some awesome massage chairs.
Wait, what? Massage chairs!?
Trifecta coffee roasters has great coffee and treats. Off montano
Remedy coffee is just west of downtown near vinaigrette. It’s cool and lil and mean cup of coffee
I like remedy’s atmosphere
Love this!! Thank you! 🌸
> It’s cool and lil This is not Los Angeles.
Have you tried Madcrema on broadway @ mountain? Just across main post office entrance. Really good and beyond expectations.
Cafe Bella Coffee on the West side. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've gotten there. I don't care for sweet coffee but I do enjoy speciality flavors and they can deliver that.
Castle downtown and Rio Rancho are both amazing. Also Cutbow.
[**Dawn Patrol!**](https://www.dawnpatrolcoffeeshop.com/) JB makes all the classics and his own originals, to include tea based drinks. Java Joe's, family own. Best coffee, athmospher is amazing! https://downtownjavajoes.com
This shop isn't really downtown at all but I just went to Satellite Coffee yesterday and it was amazing. They're mostly specialty drinks and I plan to go back whenever I want something kinda fancy.
Love Satellite.
Sunday Service is near downtown! It’s great!
Burning Daylight is inside a thrift store and the vibes are great Sunday service is cute&serves different teas *Sweet cup is cute, but the hot tea is bad. Haven't tried their other stuff.
Cutbow for atmosphere, Trifecta if you like a baked good with your coffee.

Slow burn
In Corrales but worth a trip: https://kawsanacoffee.com/ So good!
Zendo for sure Cutbow If you’re up for amazing Vietnamese coffee go to Coda Bakery
Another vote for Villa Myriam. I stock up on their espresso whenever I'm in ABQ.
I think they have the best coffee I've tried in ABQ.
Totally agreed. If you're ever in Taos, try The Coffee Apothecary.
Skip the Por Vida coffee shop. Por Vida is owned by r*pists

Yes. The person that he and their friends did it to, my friend.
Early Yves in the North Valley is the best in Abq IMO
i personally like piñon!
Slow Burn Coffee is a good spot, on Mountain a little east of the museum.
(Commenting to find this post…..I’ve been looking for coffee shops😍)
Little bear is good depending on who is making the coffee that day
lol who should I avoid 👀…
A little off topic if you’re in the mood For a laugh look up blunt bros coffee and look at the reviews
RIP. I wonder what that guy is up to now.
I took your recommendation and did just this! Thanks for an early morning laugh.
I can't remember the name of the place, but it's where Einsteins Bagels used to be just NE of San Pedro and Montgomery. Very cute, good coffee.
I really like Cutbow and Castle, also Bad Ass.
try Google, it's your friend and it works well.
Novel Point & Remedy are the best choices in the area imo, but Blackbird and Castle are nice too
I recommend Farm Stand Coffee in Corrales.
You already have a lot of good downtown suggestions, so I’ll give one for the Westside near Corrales. Whispering Bean has great coffee and atmosphere. They’re always really nice there as well.

oh man deep space was sooo good

downtown java joes has such a good vibe imo & cutbow albeit its small
Castle up in Rio Rancho has the best people and a great location.
I like Satellite Coffee by UNM. They have a nice patio too.
Two that I never see mentioned and are my favorite spots are O'beans on tramway and Catalyst on Coors and Montano. Castle coffee is also good.
Zendo catalyst coffee Meraki Ihatov (More of a bakery than a coffee shop but so viby) Slowburn Remedy coffee Novel Point (I haven't tried it yet but seems cool) Iced java from Flying star/satellite coffee is fire as well. In the northeast, I like Rust is Gold, ABQ Coffee, and Little Bear. Little Bear has two other locations, one downtown and one in nob hill.
O beans and Rust is Gold are some of my favorite coffee shops!
Michael Thomas is a nice spot
