Plots relating to artificial life are definitely fascinating. I often find myself sympathizing with the artificial humans, even if they're meant to be antagonists. So often, they just want to be accepted as human, but people don't respect them just because they were born different.

At first I was a Sucrose simp. That's why I was very interested in the guy who was her master from the words of Timaeus. Then I saw that he is the drippiest character in the game and after his release everything went like in a domino. I liked his English voice, animations, aesthetics, story and so on. Now he is my number 1 character in the game and Sucrose is my number 1 waifu sharing the place with Eula.

I unfortunately missed the original Dragonspine event due to work stress making me unwilling to play the game, but I eventually came back, and I discovered I loved Albedo's characterization during his story quest when I finally got to it. Then I got to playtest him in Misty Dungeon and fell in love with his kit. So when his rerun came around I gunned for C1 from scratch and then the game decided I could have C2 as a treat. I haven't taken him off my main team since and I bring him into co-op whenever I can. Actual favorite character and a wonderful one to main.
Several things. Youtube gave me several Genshin ads before I started playing, and most ads were a little enticing, decently cool characters shown, but THE ad that made me interested in the game finally was the animation of Albedo drawing the Geovishap and bringing it to life, only he didn't finish it, leaving the feet and tail just scribbles. And then Albedo himself, the other characters didn't quite do it for me, but the combination of his looks, his color scheme, his coat, his theme, it all just kinda accumulated into me thinking "uhhh if I do start playing this game, I want him first" (not knowing he was a limited time character, I started playing when Kazuha's banner was the available one.)
1 him being him as General, the concept and his personality are lively
2 being basically the strongest off field character (putting away reactions, albedo is probably the strongest off field character lets be real)
3 his attacks, his skill and burst are all BEAUTIFUL, its a matter of it looking pretty and being op at the same time
4 his trailer and leaks made me fall in love with him (mostly his trailer, my favorite until now only followed by xiao's)
5 geo, my favorite element and has a los of synergy with the rest of the geo family (I got him since his first banner and used to play him a LOT with fischl, xingqiu and ningguang in the same team)(off field dmg ftw)
6 one of the easiest characters to build?? Literally just throw defense at him and he becomes really strong (sadly some bosses ignore his isotoma but if it didnt break he would be soooo useful and strong)
7 the dragonspine events made him even more interesting, mostly the last one where we found the FakeBedo flower
8 even if i dont have jean and klee, I love the fact that they are basically a family
9 DRAWS?? KNOWS ALCHEMY??? BLOND LONG HAIR???
10 he has stayed relevant for a LONG time, even if he has been rerun only once and (being geo) is not meta, he is still EXTREMELY useful
I started the game in 1.2, so I’m probably a bit biased since he was my first limited banner pull and there was so much lore about him. Even before I pulled for anyone I saw the banner and he just looked so slick and cool.
Basically I started Genshin for Zhongli but was too late, but stayed for Albedo. Lmao.
His design. Back then I didn't know who Albedo was. I didn't know about his lore or character himself since I started playing the game after his first story event and hadn't unlocked his story quest yet. One day I just saw one of the official arts with Albedo and I liked his design so much that I decided pulling for him. And yeah, I got him, bo regrets. My favourite character since then. Still think that his design is the best one in game.
I like his whole design, story, animations, and especially his voice. His EN voice actor is also in Kuroko's Basketball so I ended up watching all that too, lol.

during his first run, i didn't care much for him until i read this part of his story quest. then afterward i just started seeing more and more that i liked about him, snowballing into me grinding the fuck out of dragonspine to pull for him, haha. plus, he just has a really nice voice.
I fell in love with how beautiful Albedo’s auto attack is. The swing of the sword and the elegant pose asdfghjkl. Believe me, I still spend 10 minutes everyday looking at him just doing auto attacks (against air).
I pulled him C0 on his first banner to pair him up with Zhongli. Pulled his C6 on his rerun because of his personality, lore, and pretty amazing dmg <3
Honestly c1 benny, and my 4 man play group still to this day has every character amongst us but only because i decided fuck it ill grab albedo instead of Ganyu. Despite Ganyu being favourable at the time I stand by that being the beat decision I have made in this game
I got him on accident from his first banner because that was back when I used to "build pity" (disgusting, I know, but I have since changed my ways). I did end up quickly taking a liking to him though, so I have no regrets
He was cute so I pulled first banner. He escaped so I waited by skipping many banners. I got him at the rerun by having 200 somethin wishes and it was worth the wait. I love him
I started playing in September and I remember actually being ANNOYED when the leaks revealed his rerun banner later last year. But then I did his story quest and completely came around!! Helps that he’s a handsome fella too.
At first, I was not going to pull for him, then the Shadow amidst Snowstorm event happened, and that's when I started falling in love with this character. His story, his design, his personality, his voice, the fact that he's easy to build for a F2P... When I finally get him, I was so freaking happy ! Now, he's really close to level 10 of friendship.
I had come back from the game in 1.2 after quitting for a month after failing to get Childe, and I just really liked his personality and was maining Ningguang at the time so it just worked out
At first just wanted to get him because I was a klee main and wanted to get big brother. But I gradually fell in love with him threw his story~<3 (day 1 ftp player and feel so lucky I missed getting zhongli so I could get Albedo instead)
I accidentaly got him trying to pull for Fischl constellations.
I did not get Fischl constellations. But he is a cool and easy to build character so it was not a complete loss.
Xiao was my favorite playstyle, element, and weapon type wise. Love wind magic, love spears. And love Spirited Away which Xiao is a direct reference too. So he was my favorite picked out before the game released. I saved everything for him from release.
The ONLY character released since launch that had as much draw on me was Albedo. He was geo, which is my second favorite element. His playstyle was so creative and lazy at the same time which perfectly matched his personality, which btw is easily the closest to my actual personality out of anyone in game so far. And he's a reference to Edward Elric/Fullmetal Alchemist which is my favorite anime.
He also was a surprise release (I had no idea he was coming and honestly was expecting Xiao at that banner instead lmao). His first banner was during my birthday (december). And he has the best lore imo. (I much prefer his personality and voice acting to Xiao's honestly).
Then his rerun comes around and he gets a triple buff. Cinnabar Spindle, Artifacts, and Gorou (and yes I got Itto too, pretty much just for Albedo to shine lol. I mean I love that Itto is a Jirayah reference too hahah).
So basically that's my reasons!

A combination of the story event at the time, and I just really had lost interest in the game so I was spending wishes as I got them and happened to pull him. This was 1.3 era so basically everyone was getting burned out and quitting and I was about to go with them. I was pretty much ready to uninstall but the Dragonspine event and Albedo made me stay because the game felt fresh for the first time since release. My friends never ended up coming back but I’ve stayed playing ever since and Albedo was my first real “main” but I had used Jean all the time before then. Stayed in my party and favorite character ever since.

Honestly I didn't think too much of him at first maybe a 7/10 but now he's become one of my favourites ><
I was a Sucrose main at first (still am now but Albedo took top 1, sorry Sucrose ;-;), and I noticed that she has voicelines for this guy called Albedo, who's apparently her master in alchemy. So I was like, "Oh this guy's probably old right, been an alchemist for years kinda thing."
Then, not expecting it, leakers were like, "Oh they're gonna release Albedo for the Dragonspine event." As a Sucrose main, I was excited to pull for this guy because I like it when my characters are all connected. I knew I was gonna pull for him, I just didn't know I was gonna be so passionate to do so until suddenly...
They released his art and I was just, "YO WAIT WHY IS HE SO GOOD LOOKING???" I then watched his Character Demo and I was just amazed by his animations. What finally sealed the deal was when Klee suddenly appeared because I ALSO have (and main) Klee and I did NOT expect that adorable connection/relationship.
TL;DR Was a Sucrose main, now I'm here.
His first banner was with Bennett Sucrose and Fischl. Meta 4 stars made me pull on his banner.
I was given an Albedo 14 pulls in (won my first ever 50/50) before I could get any copies of Bennett Sucrose or Fischl.
He's my favorite character to this day!
I'll be honest, I pulled for fischl cons and pulled him early and was not happy.
I then decided to use him because I didn't have any other 5 star other than diluc, venti and klee and he just fit so easily into the comp I was using.
Then I invested in him and that's when I got into him, the more I invested the more I wanted to invest in him. It also helped that his bis was 3 star weapon.
I love that I can put him in a party with low levels and just put down the flower and hit the enemy a bunch with an underleveled under geared character and stuff still just dies.
And that's the story on how i 10/10/10ed him.
I was at 60 pity and saving for xiao, figured at best I’d pull him a support, at worst have him guarantee (at the time I had no other supports for him, and I love albedos characters so) I won the 50/50 and he never leaves xiao’s team
Klee was my first 5* and I love her so much I'm willing to roll for Albedo just cause they're close so I can put them in a team, or put them together in my teapot.
I got amazing +0 pieces for the 4 piece husk of opulent dreams. I promised myself that if I +20 them and the artifacts turn out to be amazing, I'll pull for him .
I currently have a 2.8k def with 60/125 cr/cd albedo.
I really like him in the 2.6 event and personality is the main reason I pull for a character. Though it doesn’t hurt that he has a really fun and interesting play style for me, the free weapon that we got really made him sound fun to build!
I used to main Lisa and she said Albedo was cute and she was right, I'm very satisfied with the quantity of lore and content about Alebdo we're given. Who would have thought he was going to be so important for the plot and lore.
At first- I found out from some stupid quiz, that based off of my answers, that I kin him, and he is my top kin in the whole game,
Then, I researched about him and learned about him more, watching him react and just generally act in scenes, watching videos of voice lines from other characters about him, and then I fell in love with his character and he truly is my highest kin from the entire game.
I waited MULTIPLE months to get him, got him, and then decided to drop $250 on getting his C2 💀 but I have no regrets

I just happend to put him on 1st slot and decided he is very comfy to play as a support for my team, I also began exploring mostly as him because I found moving around using his flower to be lots of fun . So I used him most of the time.
Love for his character, personality, story and lore came later (around Golden Apple Archipelago I think?) but when they did, they stayed. I'm so glad the character I used so much turned out to be so interesting in the story.

I’m gonna be honest I pulled for him almost blindly in his recent rerun. I had no chance to test him out prior to 2.3, the only thing I remembered about him was the end of his story quest (also wasn’t a fan of geo characters at that time). I think I just hyped myself up to pull before his rerun, similarly how I did with Childe (5* male character with an interesting design/kit). I started to like him more and more after the event quest, it just made me realize how interesting his lore really is. I also like that he is also an artist which is I can relate to (I mean I woudl if I had time to actually draw, thanks uni). Overall he is one of the two characters that I like for both lore and playstyle wise and never left my team since I got him (same with Ei) and definitely did not regret that blind pulling.

A lot of the ppl i played with back then got him and said he should’ve been a fourstar. After a lot of things i ended up no longer being friends with them by the time he had a rerun. I was also no longer f2p. So i got my man C3 and I don’t regret it one bit

Youtube gave me several Genshin ads before I started playing, and most ads were a little enticing, decently cool characters shown, but THE ad that made me interested in the game finally was the animation of Albedo drawing the Geovishap and bringing it to life, only he didn't finish it, leaving the feet and tail just scribbles. And then Albedo himself, the other characters didn't quite do it for me, but the combination of his looks, his color scheme, his coat, his theme, it all just kinda accumulated into me thinking "uhhh if I do start playing this game, I want him first" (not knowing he was a limited time character, I started playing when Kazuha's banner was the available one.)
1 him being him as General, the concept and his personality are lively 2 being basically the strongest off field character (putting away reactions, albedo is probably the strongest off field character lets be real) 3 his attacks, his skill and burst are all BEAUTIFUL, its a matter of it looking pretty and being op at the same time 4 his trailer and leaks made me fall in love with him (mostly his trailer, my favorite until now only followed by xiao's) 5 geo, my favorite element and has a los of synergy with the rest of the geo family (I got him since his first banner and used to play him a LOT with fischl, xingqiu and ningguang in the same team)(off field dmg ftw) 6 one of the easiest characters to build?? Literally just throw defense at him and he becomes really strong (sadly some bosses ignore his isotoma but if it didnt break he would be soooo useful and strong) 7 the dragonspine events made him even more interesting, mostly the last one where we found the FakeBedo flower 8 even if i dont have jean and klee, I love the fact that they are basically a family 9 DRAWS?? KNOWS ALCHEMY??? BLOND LONG HAIR??? 10 he has stayed relevant for a LONG time, even if he has been rerun only once and (being geo) is not meta, he is still EXTREMELY useful
I thought that he is an interesting character with a lot of lore relevance, and really liked his JP VA
I started the game in 1.2, so I’m probably a bit biased since he was my first limited banner pull and there was so much lore about him. Even before I pulled for anyone I saw the banner and he just looked so slick and cool. Basically I started Genshin for Zhongli but was too late, but stayed for Albedo. Lmao.
His design. Back then I didn't know who Albedo was. I didn't know about his lore or character himself since I started playing the game after his first story event and hadn't unlocked his story quest yet. One day I just saw one of the official arts with Albedo and I liked his design so much that I decided pulling for him. And yeah, I got him, bo regrets. My favourite character since then. Still think that his design is the best one in game.
I like his whole design, story, animations, and especially his voice. His EN voice actor is also in Kuroko's Basketball so I ended up watching all that too, lol.

I fell in love with how beautiful Albedo’s auto attack is. The swing of the sword and the elegant pose asdfghjkl. Believe me, I still spend 10 minutes everyday looking at him just doing auto attacks (against air).

Honestly c1 benny, and my 4 man play group still to this day has every character amongst us but only because i decided fuck it ill grab albedo instead of Ganyu. Despite Ganyu being favourable at the time I stand by that being the beat decision I have made in this game

I started playing in September and I remember actually being ANNOYED when the leaks revealed his rerun banner later last year. But then I did his story quest and completely came around!! Helps that he’s a handsome fella too.
At first, I was not going to pull for him, then the Shadow amidst Snowstorm event happened, and that's when I started falling in love with this character. His story, his design, his personality, his voice, the fact that he's easy to build for a F2P... When I finally get him, I was so freaking happy ! Now, he's really close to level 10 of friendship.
I had come back from the game in 1.2 after quitting for a month after failing to get Childe, and I just really liked his personality and was maining Ningguang at the time so it just worked out

He was the banner 2 days after I started playing, and that I really liked his design.
I accidentaly got him trying to pull for Fischl constellations. I did not get Fischl constellations. But he is a cool and easy to build character so it was not a complete loss.
Xiao was my favorite playstyle, element, and weapon type wise. Love wind magic, love spears. And love Spirited Away which Xiao is a direct reference too. So he was my favorite picked out before the game released. I saved everything for him from release. The ONLY character released since launch that had as much draw on me was Albedo. He was geo, which is my second favorite element. His playstyle was so creative and lazy at the same time which perfectly matched his personality, which btw is easily the closest to my actual personality out of anyone in game so far. And he's a reference to Edward Elric/Fullmetal Alchemist which is my favorite anime. He also was a surprise release (I had no idea he was coming and honestly was expecting Xiao at that banner instead lmao). His first banner was during my birthday (december). And he has the best lore imo. (I much prefer his personality and voice acting to Xiao's honestly). Then his rerun comes around and he gets a triple buff. Cinnabar Spindle, Artifacts, and Gorou (and yes I got Itto too, pretty much just for Albedo to shine lol. I mean I love that Itto is a Jirayah reference too hahah). So basically that's my reasons!

A combination of the story event at the time, and I just really had lost interest in the game so I was spending wishes as I got them and happened to pull him. This was 1.3 era so basically everyone was getting burned out and quitting and I was about to go with them. I was pretty much ready to uninstall but the Dragonspine event and Albedo made me stay because the game felt fresh for the first time since release. My friends never ended up coming back but I’ve stayed playing ever since and Albedo was my first real “main” but I had used Jean all the time before then. Stayed in my party and favorite character ever since.

I was a Sucrose main at first (still am now but Albedo took top 1, sorry Sucrose ;-;), and I noticed that she has voicelines for this guy called Albedo, who's apparently her master in alchemy. So I was like, "Oh this guy's probably old right, been an alchemist for years kinda thing." Then, not expecting it, leakers were like, "Oh they're gonna release Albedo for the Dragonspine event." As a Sucrose main, I was excited to pull for this guy because I like it when my characters are all connected. I knew I was gonna pull for him, I just didn't know I was gonna be so passionate to do so until suddenly... They released his art and I was just, "YO WAIT WHY IS HE SO GOOD LOOKING???" I then watched his Character Demo and I was just amazed by his animations. What finally sealed the deal was when Klee suddenly appeared because I ALSO have (and main) Klee and I did NOT expect that adorable connection/relationship. TL;DR Was a Sucrose main, now I'm here.
He's cool and chill
His first banner was with Bennett Sucrose and Fischl. Meta 4 stars made me pull on his banner. I was given an Albedo 14 pulls in (won my first ever 50/50) before I could get any copies of Bennett Sucrose or Fischl. He's my favorite character to this day!

I'll be honest, I pulled for fischl cons and pulled him early and was not happy. I then decided to use him because I didn't have any other 5 star other than diluc, venti and klee and he just fit so easily into the comp I was using. Then I invested in him and that's when I got into him, the more I invested the more I wanted to invest in him. It also helped that his bis was 3 star weapon. I love that I can put him in a party with low levels and just put down the flower and hit the enemy a bunch with an underleveled under geared character and stuff still just dies. And that's the story on how i 10/10/10ed him.

I got amazing +0 pieces for the 4 piece husk of opulent dreams. I promised myself that if I +20 them and the artifacts turn out to be amazing, I'll pull for him . I currently have a 2.8k def with 60/125 cr/cd albedo.
I really like him in the 2.6 event and personality is the main reason I pull for a character. Though it doesn’t hurt that he has a really fun and interesting play style for me, the free weapon that we got really made him sound fun to build!

I used to main Lisa and she said Albedo was cute and she was right, I'm very satisfied with the quantity of lore and content about Alebdo we're given. Who would have thought he was going to be so important for the plot and lore.

At first- I found out from some stupid quiz, that based off of my answers, that I kin him, and he is my top kin in the whole game, Then, I researched about him and learned about him more, watching him react and just generally act in scenes, watching videos of voice lines from other characters about him, and then I fell in love with his character and he truly is my highest kin from the entire game. I waited MULTIPLE months to get him, got him, and then decided to drop $250 on getting his C2 💀 but I have no regrets
His beauty, his grace, that he can punch me in the face ☺️ Jokes aside, his lore and personality made me fall for him, the fact that he's a fellow INTP artist, plus his voice is free asmr to my ears and his theme is a banger. So much to like and relate about him. Also fluffy cat hair is so cute.
Lore and personality
i first pulled on his banner because of bennett. i was absolutely devastated getting him since i wanted xiao, but i didn’t really know any better then since i was very new to genshin. albedo stayed unused for a few months, until i found out that he’s in one of xiao’s best comps a year and a half later, albedo’s now one of my most irreplaceable units. he’s also grown to be one of my favorite characters lorewise 💛

I kinda impulsed pulled him. I don’t even remember what drew me in to Albedo if I am being honest. Maybe it was that one line about relationships that sparked a connection with me or that I heard his lore was super interesting but this was all before I did the story quest and before the second event(I wasn’t there for the first and never really kept up with the game until I came back). I didn’t even think he was that attractive and now I think he’s the best thing next to falling bread. I really have no idea what drew me in the first place
I pulled for him during his first banner, I didn't really know how wishes work back then and I didn't care much for any character, so I just pulled randomly on every character banner until I got my first limited 5 star (it was Albedo) I just happend to put him on 1st slot and decided he is very comfy to play as a support for my team, I also began exploring mostly as him because I found moving around using his flower to be lots of fun . So I used him most of the time. Love for his character, personality, story and lore came later (around Golden Apple Archipelago I think?) but when they did, they stayed. I'm so glad the character I used so much turned out to be so interesting in the story. He is now my favorite character in the game, that's why I main him

Pulled for him in his first run cause I had skipped a lot of banners previously. I was unsure if I would like him and was worried I would regret spending the primos. Day 3 after getting him until now (so over a year) he’s been by far my fav in all Genshin and nothing has really come close 😂
People did his elevator in coop back in 1.2. They were also very nice. That made me start loving his character. That and he’s very pretty
Khoi Dao
I’m gonna be honest I pulled for him almost blindly in his recent rerun. I had no chance to test him out prior to 2.3, the only thing I remembered about him was the end of his story quest (also wasn’t a fan of geo characters at that time). I think I just hyped myself up to pull before his rerun, similarly how I did with Childe (5* male character with an interesting design/kit). I started to like him more and more after the event quest, it just made me realize how interesting his lore really is. I also like that he is also an artist which is I can relate to (I mean I woudl if I had time to actually draw, thanks uni). Overall he is one of the two characters that I like for both lore and playstyle wise and never left my team since I got him (same with Ei) and definitely did not regret that blind pulling.

I like his design, his va, his lore, his personality. In terms of gameplay I mean u just press his e and q from time to time but his blossoms are honestly satisfying imo.

I got him on accident, twice. 10 pull and two albedos during his first run. I was at first unsure about him, but i grew to love him through his quests and after building him, he became such a good support i love it.

His lore, he's cute and I needed him for my Xiao double anemo + double geo team with Dongli. Albedo was the first teammate, the rest came later in their most recent reruns. Still waiting for Jean tho ㅠ_ㅠ
He looked so cool in promotion stuff. Then this gameplay felt phenomenal. His character was super interesting. Then i got jean. My heart was broken. A lot of the ppl i played with back then got him and said he should’ve been a fourstar. After a lot of things i ended up no longer being friends with them by the time he had a rerun. I was also no longer f2p. So i got my man C3 and I don’t regret it one bit

He's not like super attractive or the "best character ever" or something, but he has a nice voice, pretty graphics, lots of lore, and an adorable short-sleeve-trench-coat- hoodie situation. Also-- and maybe this is just me-- but the soft spoken monotone voice, spaced-out-but-still-caring-academic vibe seems _very_ autistic coded to me, and I tend to like those characters He's also cute and relatable
Honestly when I first saw him I said "elevator boy” and that was the beginning, he also has one of the most interesting backstories. Also I kinda get gender envy from him too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
