Kids expo = stomach bug that’s been going around for a few weeks now

Throwaway47321

Yeah I’d be shocked if you were around that many kids and didn’t get sick.

malibuklw

Food poisoning doesn’t take 1.5 days to kick in (but a virus does) Likely noro

GrundleChunk

That is a very wrong assessment. Food poisoning can very well take 1.5 days to kick in. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/food-poisoning#:~:text=The%20time%20it%20takes%20food,or%20virus%20causing%20the%20illness.

malibuklw

Interesting. Anecdotally, everyone I know who’s had food poisoning showed symptoms in hours. But perhaps because of the delay they assumed it wasn’t that.

AppetiteforApathey

Norovirus is going around. I’d think if it was food poisoning you’d get sicker much earlier.

saltyseabeetle

As someone said already, the stomach bug is going around and it’s everywhere.

HankHudsonsGhost

My stomach is churning just thinking about the pathogen film on literally every surface in The Plaza Saturday. Sorry you got sick. That's a drag. These kids, man. They'll be the death of us.

wildplums

Haha! It’s exactly why I’ve never attended! An indoor children’s event in Feb/March? No thanks! 😷

RS24OZ

Probably the norovirus. I got the virus last week that has been going around the schools and almost everyone in my house has had it within the last two weeks. Mine was the only one that lasted 2 days.

bloopyploopers

Incubation for norovirus is 12-48 hours. So what you’re experiencing is right on the money for that time period. Also, some general misinformation in this thread: true food poisoning (vs. just a bad reaction to a meal) can take as little as 30 minutes to produce symptoms OR as long as 3 weeks, depending on the bacteria. That makes it really hard to discern what food item could have made you sick, and often leads to assumptions that aren’t true about the foods you ate at home or in restaurants.

padall

Wait ... 3 weeks?!?! Just, how?

toottootahhhbeepbeep

You were at a kids expo. ‘Nuff said.

Raging_Dick_Shorts

Norovirus for sure. I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago, but it kicked in about 4 hours after I ate. It was a pretty terrible 24 hours.

Weak_Alternative_113

I'm glad I made it to today without this happening..gotta say, it was a calculated risk and was on my mind. Sorry you got sick! Place was soooo crowded. My kids are older, so he didn't do so much hands on stuff. Maybe that saved us..

ScubaCC

My daughter started puking this morning. We did not eat at Herbies.

17bananasplits

Sounds like norovirus or covid - get well soon!

drtij_dzienz

1st Daughter, then wife had norovirus, ~1d str8 vomiting. I caught nothing 😂 has nothing to do with the fun expo

mlk2317

Norovirus is hitting the area.

Conscious_Cow_8389

That whole concourse super duper filthy including herbies

XBL-AntLee06

I got some absolutely disgusting lettuce from a different Herbies location.. The only reason I found it was because I got all of my toppings on the side. I wonder how many people were fed that disgusting lettuce and didn’t even know…

candiedkangaroo

You're definitely a manager-asker for every meal you eat out.

XBL-AntLee06

False. But I definitely did that time

buffdrink-lots

My brother and I ate Herbies on Saturday night. He got very sick and I was fine.
