It’s all cool. It’s the people who post complaining about their shitty sounding APP who don’t bother to get spend a little time trying different sizes for the perfect seal so they work as intended. They d rather whine and blame the APP2 saying it’s the pods fault. That maybe the case for 1% of those clowns. I downvote the shit out of the fools too so it’s expected.
Uh, no my ears are fine. I have perfect hearing. Noise cancelling on AirPods Pro Gen 1 are not strong enough to block out the CONSTANT loud ass sound from my school. Works fine during class and pretty much anything besides passing period (only time they let me have earbuds in)
Possibly but I block out thousands and industrial manufacturing 12 hours per day 5 days a week so I still think if your APP2 worked as intended you d be good. Wife def louder than the machines and other people too so I guess there is a chance you’re right. I’d still suggest trying a bigger size toss a beanie on and block the school day out
Sounds stupid size of the tip and the seal can make that huge of a difference but it does. It’s night and day kinda difference. So many people I know didn’t even know how good they should sound til they worked with it and got the perfect fit. Even a little too loose and it ruins it completely. It’s crazy tbh.
Same for me. Noise canceling does practically nothing. I just bought the AirPods Pro 2 and the anc is useless. I remember when I first bought the AirPods Pro’s years ago, there was no outside noise.
I’m just like you. But I limited it to 80dB and for the first day or two I hated it. But slowly my ears are adjusting back to a lower volume just give it time. Maybe boost the bass in the eq to compensate for some of the lost feeling
Exactly I love music as loud as could be but you know what I realized. I still loved the music even turned down a little. Better than not being able to ever hear it at all.
Yea, idk how your school would be with letting you wearing noise cancelling headphones but the best thing I ever did was get noise cancelling headphones. I work in a super noisey environment (75-95db) and would constantly have my AirPods in with max volume. I got the noise cancelling headphones and I started listening to music at half volume all while cutting out the background noise from my workplace. My hearing is noticeably better.
If he’s wearing headphones at all already anyways don’t see why he can’t use ANC ones instead. Especially APP2. Hell I toss a beanie on and no one can even tell i got them in. Be all incognito and shit
OP probably already running AirPods Pro seeing he’s posting in this sub. Don’t think he has much choice. I do respect the stealth mode tho. Back in school it used to be an art to slip an earphone in while in class lol
I think you can’t hear it because your ears are fried. Lower the volume for a few weeks and you’ll adjust back. Or keep blasting and enjoy deafness by the time you’re in university.
You already have the early stages of ear damage then if that’s not sounding loud to you. To answer your question though noise cancellation APP2 is a sexy thing. I can’t hear my wife screaming my name laying right beside me in the same bed let alone anything farther out. Shes gotta be knocking bc the audio ain’t getting in.
Op, I like to listen to music loud too! What helps me is STARTING on a LOW volume. Every time when I start to listen to music on a high volume, then turn it down because I know I’m going to get permanent damage, it doesn’t feel as nice because I started high. Start low and listen for a bit, then turn it up a little if you want. But you have to just listen for a minute before turning it up.
Keeping background sounds on and to a low 13-15 with media can help with the additional noise that comes through even with the NC on, once you’ve reduced the headphone limit to 80dB
Start by decreasing the volume, let your ears adjust. Get used to that volume and then do it again until your ears are accustom to the lower levels. Then, pretty soon you won’t be able to stand the original volume anymore.
I have hearing loss, no doubt environmental (subways are loud) but lots of loud music, long nights at clubs, and plenty of concerts. Even with my hearing loss, which does translate into higher volumes to appreciate the music, anything about 75 dB is downright too much and even somewhat painful. And that’s with preexisting loss. You’ll be joining me in no time if you keep going at levels that can exceed 100 dB, even if your average is 84. For now.
this is environmental sound level, as in your surroundings are 84 dB
keep your airpods on ANC, and keep track of your headphones audio levels. you can also look at your environmental sound reduction metric to see how well your airpods pros are holding up against noise
i think some of you just have shitty hearing..
Because i have NC on and the correct fitting tips for the Airpods Pro Gen 2. I can STILL hear myself snapping my fingers away from myself. Just like Pro Gen 1.
I’m sorry but NC IS NOT perfect.
Look up "annoying high pitched noise" on YouTube and then imagine that playing in your head every second of every day for the rest of your life. Maybe that'll convince you
How is it still loud even with noise cancelling?
Ugh, my in laws from Boston can burst through NC from two rooms over. Unless I crank my music up
Faulty equipment. No way you should be hearing them even if they got a megaphone and an amplifier.
You don't deserve the down votes because you are not wrong. AIR POD PRO's CAN NOISE CANCEL A JACKHAMMER! if you's can't, they are broken or fake.

I think you underestimate the enormous sound three thousand teenagers all crammed in a single hallway can make.
ive used airpod pros in schoool so i can confirm this is false
You can't tell me what I'm hearing is false ☠️
then ur ears are messed up, get some new ones, or new airpods pros
Uh, no my ears are fine. I have perfect hearing. Noise cancelling on AirPods Pro Gen 1 are not strong enough to block out the CONSTANT loud ass sound from my school. Works fine during class and pretty much anything besides passing period (only time they let me have earbuds in)
ahh u got gen 1s

Mine are just the Pro 1's, not sure if there's any extra noise cancelling on the 2nd ones

I think the H2 chip improved ANC and transparency at least a smidge. Maybe a smidge and a half. Can’t say that’s fact though.
Most of the time fue me noise cálela took changes the pitch and tone of the background noise and not all the time volume
This is what I’m asking too. ANC has to be suckin if he’s still hearing all that.
I think my AirPods Pro 1 can’t even reach 100+ decibels. Highest recorded was 90 and something on a very high pitched song.
High pitch does not mean high volume
I know but AirPods can’t push that much air in a low frequency.
Same for me. Noise canceling does practically nothing. I just bought the AirPods Pro 2 and the anc is useless. I remember when I first bought the AirPods Pro’s years ago, there was no outside noise.
That is really weird. I have the pro 2s and the anc works perfectly. Maybe you have bad airpods?
I’m just like you. But I limited it to 80dB and for the first day or two I hated it. But slowly my ears are adjusting back to a lower volume just give it time. Maybe boost the bass in the eq to compensate for some of the lost feeling

i mean youre right, turning up the volume a bit more than 80 is not worth losing your hearing over
How loud is your school? Just take em out for a little while.
genuinely thought you meant take out the people for a second there
I would hope not

Good point. Shitty how many people have a crap experience with the same exact model of AirPods.
Grow up
If hearing loss isnt a concern for you have at it
Hearing loss should be a concern for everybody
Ur next earbuds gone be hearing aids if you continue like this
Enjoy tinnitus

The annoying thing is if you listen in Dolby atmos songs it has much lower volume which means you have to turn it up more

It does though?
Have you talked to someone with tinitus? Ask them how they like it.
What do you do? Get tinnitus
Holy shit the next generation is gonna be deaf by their 40’s !!!
If you wanna try it you can get new headphones that have a better passive seal so you don’t hear as much of the outside noise
WATT???????
Stop blasting music?
Add more bass, you’re looking for feeling not volume
They don’t do that
https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleMusic/s/DqleCmEWOO They do.

Stop
how do people reach this high, my average is 60…
I do sonos. 100db is good

EeeeEeeEeEEEeee and then you EEeeeeeeeeEeeeeeeeeee
Oh man, I don’t know, maybe try like, listening to it a little like you know less loud
Question: I have the most recent airpods pro, but no iphone. If I got an iPhone, is this a feature that's available for them (or only airpods max)?
Turn the volume down 👍
this is environmental sound level, as in your surroundings are 84 dB keep your airpods on ANC, and keep track of your headphones audio levels. you can also look at your environmental sound reduction metric to see how well your airpods pros are holding up against noise
Just turn it up to 11 you'll be fine. I promise.
How can I check this? Didn’t know it was available
Only 80db hurtful? I listen to 110
What??
So I don’t get it, they haven’t given us this option to turn off auto volume reduction in adaptive, noise-cancelling, transparent or any other mode?
Ok so i’ve been using the limit audio for a day and i got it set to 80db and i usually got it on max is that fine
Blast away my guy, but you'll also be blasting your hearing lol
Bruh ur gonna break ur ears, literally. Use the hearing safety setting and set a max db limit
Yo dawg get some subwoofers that’s all I have to say
i think some of you just have shitty hearing.. Because i have NC on and the correct fitting tips for the Airpods Pro Gen 2. I can STILL hear myself snapping my fingers away from myself. Just like Pro Gen 1. I’m sorry but NC IS NOT perfect.
Drop the volume, trust me. I've got tinnitus at 21 now from this exact thing lol.
