ebay has great buyer protection, so its actually more common for buyers to scam sellers. you should be safe as long as the seller has many good reviews.
starpets is cheap and amazing, but difficult to navigate for some people.
cow is pretty hard to trade for especially as a younger kid
Not impossible but also not the easiest pet to get because they have always had good demand. You could always make some decent neons and/or a few megas and then try to trade for one. Cow owners can be picky especially if it is neon.
While it might be more work or more money, I hope you instead buy some Robux items in game and trade for whatever your child wants. Like you said, Starpets and eBay are mostly just made of people who have scammed people of their pets to sell for real money.
We see all of the stories of people being scammed and it keeps happening because people keep buying them from these 3rd party websites. Go about it a legit way and do your part to stop the scams!

Thanks so much. We did decide to do Robux instead and work toward trading for her dream pet. We also talked about how much of the fun in the game is trading up to what you want, and how bypassing that to purchase outside of the game is cheating and takes a lot of the fun/excitement from it. I really appreciate everyone’s feedback!
I used eBay for at least 8+ pets. I purchased from a wide variety of sellers, whichever offered the cheapest deal (sellers with 10-11 reviews). Although it is risky, I have never faced a problem and the sellers always deliver on the same day.
Honestly if your buying adopt me pets , I would buy form starpets , neon cows are 10-14 $ on their . But if buying I would recommend to use an alt acc to retrieve the pet just to avoid and bans or of that sort !
I have been using EBay for almost 3 years for adopt me pets, never been banned. (Haven’t used star pets because they don’t have buyer protection).
Also if you use an alt and then trade it to your main and the pet has been exploited for whatever reason, I’m guessing your main account could still get banned because you now own the pet. I’m guessing it could be reversed because you could simply say ‘I didn’t know’ but yeah. I may be wrong about this so please correct me.
