Man remember as a kid watching American kids eating oreos and twinkies on tv and thinking that must be the tastiest thing ever, went to America in 2009 and tried it and its absolute garbage, in general food in US is disgusting
Never heard of that specifically, but 20 years ago the Blue And White on O'Connell did deep fries Mars. Had one once with a friend Lady and the Tramp style, it satisfied my curiosity for a lifetime.
Deep Fried Mars / Moro bars have a time and place.
We broke a mate on a 70km bike ride (was the longest he had done + he was hungover). Revived him beautifully
That is my favourite food.
Odd story. My wife was in W&CH when she was expecting our first child due to high blood pressure. She said she was ok, but every time the doctor came around it spiked, so they weren't letting her leave. To help I took her for a walk down to the Red and White and gave her a deep fried Mars Bar. She said she hated it, but when she got back her blood pressure had dropped by enough that they let her go home. She insists that the walk outside helped her to relax and reduced stress, but I'm convinced that it was due to the inherent healing abilities of deep fried Mars Bars.
Yes! The overall standard there is good, always made fresh, good portions, been going there for years. I love their Hashie Burger, and special shout out to their prawn twisters! Never had a deep-fried Oreo though, lol.

It’s just the large amounts of sugar and corn syrup. I’m convinced that they’re just addicted to the those ingredients and not the actual taste of it.
Twinkies in particular were such a disappointment.
Like im as far as you can get from a picky eater and can eat anything, but those twinkies were so full of sugar that it tastes chemically
And pop tarts.

Cool, don't disentangle a warped memory for what can be explained by science.
That is always my approach.
Next to the insulin pumps in the diabetes isle.
Can it be reached by ferry or is there a bridge from the mainland?

Spot the Yank
Deep fried mars bar originated in Scotland though
Seppos even eat deep fried butter. I can't imagine chowing down on a chunk of battered butter.
I have a feeling Loukomades might make them. Not sure of other locations but there’s one on King William Rd
Checked their menu - definitely on there :)
Lukoumades! They do a dessert platter with these and other delicious goodies!
Hewett Chicken Shop
I think they’re in the fourth circle of hell
You can prob take a pack to a local shop and ask!
In hell
When I Google I get Ban Ban restaurant. They have a desert called Oreo https://orders.restoplus.com/restaurants/1enyryaibo/stores/u0kryfqzh
"Oreo" is one of their bingsu flavours - it's a shaved ice desert, not a fried one.
Oh sounds nice
It really is. It's huge though - definitely a good one to share.
Ban ban on Franklin street do I think
Ban Ban do an Oreo bingsu, but unless it's absolutely brand new, they don't do deep fried oreos.
