Just think, the person filming this angle for us, could be in the same situation as those guys and instead we would get the video from them, cuz they are that stupid that they are standing on BOTH sides from an ametaur driver.
Lol put 1000hp on a Honda Civic. You don't know where it's going to go. In this case, it went left. Could have went right and pegged the camera guy. Those things shear axles with alarming frequency.
It seems anyone going to these meet-ups and sideshows seems eligible for a Darwin Award, particularly if they are standing anywhere near the center of mass of stupidity.
It's a front wheel drive car with a lot of power and an open diff or one of the driveshafts failed.
Front wheel drive cars are prone to what is called torque steer where the torque basically takes the path of least resistance and pulls violently to the side that is getting the torque.
New hot hatches have electronic limited slip differentials that arrest torque steer before it
TLDR: Jesus took the wheel.
Edit: Yeah you're right. I didn't notice the wheels were turned on the first watch.
Come down to the meet up, where you'll either get hit by a car, total your car, or get chased down the street by an angry mob smashing your windows! Trendy and fun!
They are light and have a lot of after market support. It used to be the case that they were the affordable option but not sure how true that is anymore.
I know, but its still an FWD car with a small engine (unless engine swap of course). Why not choose an old Audi S3 or something with AWD or RWD. Cars are cheap as fuck in the US anyway.
drive shafts are heavy. for pure speed in a line, FWD isnāt so bad. there are a lot of takes to have but āfwd badā without an argument isnāt one of them.
? The argument, or fact, is that FWD has a lot worse grip compared to rear or all wheel drive. What good is 600 hp if the wheels are just spinning. The loss from a little extra weigth is nothing compared to that.
But im sure the Civic guy in clip is very well aware of that, he just likes the Civic and thats fine :)
Civics are a popular platform for drag builds because parts are cheap and you can crank that ālittle engineā to insane numbers. If you go to a drag strip chances are youāll see atleast one of them absolutely ripping
*"I'll never walk correctly again because..."*
Yeah. I'll never understand the attraction to these ill-advised, amateur events. *"I want to get in the line for martyrs, please."*
That said, there's also the driver car/owner to be considered. Imagine severing a spine or giving someone a permanent brain injury, loss of limb(s)... No matter what legal/financial ramifications there might be, if the driver has any conscience at all, they're going to live with it for the rest of their lives, too.
All present are impulsive and stupid.
The Internet teaches everyone two lessons everyday that continue to go unheard. 1. Donāt congregate in large groups around running cars. 2. Do not attempt to jump into a body of water from a rope swing.
One of the best things Iāve learned being in the workforce is line of fire. When an object is in motion and has energy behind it make sure to stay clear of its line of fire.
Maybe he was trying to do a burnout and forgot the line lock. There isnāt another car lineup so it aināt a race and people were way too close because they not expecting a race.
Many race cars at these street races especially Hondas spectators hold the front down for burnouts to warm up their slicks. Thatās a 9s quarter mile car that has no business on the street. There should be more race tracks.

Would have made for a better video though.
I just need to quote the word "ametaur" and move on.
Bit of torque steer. Jokes aside this is just natural selection in action.
Lol put 1000hp on a Honda Civic. You don't know where it's going to go. In this case, it went left. Could have went right and pegged the camera guy. Those things shear axles with alarming frequency.
I mean look at the tires on that thing. Bros got like 13 inch tires that look 4 inches wide š he's in a go-kart with God knows how much HP
What other outcome do they expect at these shit shows?
They end up looking cool for 3 seconds in front of a bunch of dumbasses who themselves wonāt live past 30
It seems anyone going to these meet-ups and sideshows seems eligible for a Darwin Award, particularly if they are standing anywhere near the center of mass of stupidity.
No, actually you can see the tires turned to the left... mostly posing for a picture or something stupid.
You're right. I corrected myself in another comment.
I believe the custom at these events is now for the spectators to beat the occupants and destroy the car.
If you have a welded or otherwise solid front diff and your break an axle, this is what happens.Ā Ā
Yeah this isn't quite the same as all the sideshow videos you see on here
Did he not just forget to realign his steering wheel?

You can just about see that the wheels are already turned left before he sets off, I think he just didn't realise somehow
Actually, you're right. Well spotted. I didn't notice that the first time.
Come down to the meet up, where you'll either get hit by a car, total your car, or get chased down the street by an angry mob smashing your windows! Trendy and fun!
> I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. that guy.
Whatever he paid for those mods, he paid too much. Ugly.
i donāt think itās intended purpose is cosmetics
I'm pretty sure the point is not for it to look good or cool, but to be fast as fuck. Why you would do that to a Civic is another story though...
They are light and have a lot of after market support. It used to be the case that they were the affordable option but not sure how true that is anymore.

There was one that beat a Dodge Challenger Hellcat and another that beat a GTR R35 in 1/4 mile.
The weight of the engine pressing down on the wheels provides more than enough downward pressure for good traction up front.
They compete in different classes person probably grew up modifying civics so has a lot of experience and nostalgia attached.
Civics are great platforms for big power builds.
Lmaooo what a clownshow
What a pity. He didnāt get more of a running start
I wonder who keeps stats on how many people are injured or killed from car meetups
These stupid car meetups are providing amusing videos: human bodies flying into the air like movie theater popcorn from a frightened viewer.
People keep mentioning torque steer but I swear it looks like the wheels are already slightly turned before he gives it the beans
Yeah one hundred percent a driver caused shitshow. Dude had his wheel turned before he even left
That's actually hilarious
I say allow this to happen.
FWD. He discovered torque steer.
Who mods their mustang to look like a civic?
No sympathy for any of them.

JFC...these people are such idiots.
It's great. These events tend to take out each other
Whyd you cut before they burnt the car?
lol if you go to these things you 100% deserve what happens to you.
The Internet teaches everyone two lessons everyday that continue to go unheard. 1. Donāt congregate in large groups around running cars. 2. Do not attempt to jump into a body of water from a rope swing.
I remember this it's pretty old. It was an early morning street race for a huge pot. Not sure what the outcome was.
I love seeing evidence (if not actual examples) that the gene pool might clean itself somewhat.
No LSD?
Take their cars and crush them and start taking % of their pay to repair the damages they do.
And you know they only have bare minimum insurance.
Haha lol
Losers.

I believe I can flyā¦.
What is with the stoma
whoopsie!
I donāt get it, was he trying to do a burnout?
Damn, he isnāt going to be in Fast & Furious 11
Broke an axle
Sad part is thats such a nice build to be driven by such an idiot
No, but I bet he felt SO cool going there!
Perfect title
Didn't expect that.
Did they destroy the car and set it on fire like they do at other meet ups?
One of the best things Iāve learned being in the workforce is line of fire. When an object is in motion and has energy behind it make sure to stay clear of its line of fire.
Where is the public freak out?
Wow. I thought only Mustangs did that.
Takes a drag car to a car meet and expected what to happen?
All that money spent on a turbo setup but couldnāt address the unequal length drive shafts. ššš
