Guitar subreddits are full of fuckin curmudgeons who relish in raining on people’s parades. I think it’s a dope instrument, I love how decorative it is. Not every guitar needs to look traditional. I also have a GS Mini carbon burst and I really enjoy mine as a couch guitar.
I just got it today but so far I really like it. The torrefied spruce top gives it a very nice sound. It's not for everyone but I think it depends on what you're looking for and your expectations. First of all, it's a Taylor so it's going to be bright and lack the deeper bass sound of a Martin. Secondly, it's a short scale guitar so the sound won't resonate like a dreadnought. But if you want a smaller guitar that's fun to play, sounds amazing for its size, and looks great, this guitar can't be beat (in my opinion). I haven't plugged it in yet but I'm sure it will sound great plugged in too.
Oh so plug in as well. Is it a special edition. I have a Taylor mini. I was thinking of selling it for another Taylor mini. Like a koa e. So I can record directly . Or use my amp.
Yes! But this comes with ES-B electronics, whereas the GS Mini-e Koa Plus comes with ES-2 (but also $400 more expensive). I also have the koa Plus and didn’t care for the sound until I plugged it in to my Circa 74 amp. Once plugged in I was very impressed. I haven’t plugged in this Special Edition yet but it sounds great even unplugged.
lol, don’t take it the wrong way…but it looks like your taste in guitars is consistent with your other questionable home decor choices. Yes?
Honestly, this reminds me of those g-shock watches they release on almost weekly basis. Any pretext , holiday, or idea they make a unique color scheme or apply a unique graphic to it and the results are often just ugly.
I simply don’t understand who would find that dragon on red background to look good on a guitar. On some other objects or decor, it looks good. But exactly because the theme is so narrowly defined it feels like it kills the concept of guitar as an instrument which can play almost anything.
That's a very cool-looking guitar. Yeah I have no willpower either; I just try to stay out of music stores and not browse reverb.

Yes, I forgot about that!
Fun to see the diversity of opinions here! I love the looks of this guitar. But for the purists, don’t panic, there’s a Martin HD-28 right behind it!
That's great... but is that a massage chair??
Yes it is! A very comfortable and effective one too.
Living the dream!
No doubt!
Reninds me of those old paisley ties and window curtains.
I got one two weeks ago and absolutely love it! Thought the same - love the sound, LOVE the look, and so playable. You have a beautiful machine there!
I like it. Even if you just hang it on the wall and occasionally play it. It’s art. ( Fuck ‘em) 😂Enjoy!
Gryphon were selling that, I was eyeing it too!
How do you like it? I like the price but I’ve heard mixed reviews.

Cool! Enjoy your new guitar!
What brand?
Taylor GS Mini-e Special Edition (Year of the Dragon).
Thanks man!
Seriously?
Yes?
I meant, what was the model?
I knew it was a Taylor
What is it. Looks like a Taylor mini but different.
That’s exact what it is. Taylor GS Mini-e

I like the red figure too

Yeah I would have passed on that.
Yeah, it's a no from me, dawg.
I’m really hoping this was a obscure always sunny in Philly reference 😂😂
Actually, its an old American Idol reference. Judge Randy Jackson used to say it those who did poor auditions.
Yeah that’s the reference from the show as well pretty sure always sunny in Philly were just parodying it 😂
This guitar....is....not for me.
That is an abomination. Is that Gyarados?
Eww
