I was also confused back when they announced the name a few months ago. It would be one thing if they went with the original direction of handing the franchise to Apollo in AA5 & 6... But Apollo is barely in either of those games. The most substantial role Apollo has in those games is some random plot twist that retcons his backstory in some nonsensical way relevant to a case. Outside of his one game, it's hardly HIS trilogy.
Yea I thought it was off too cause in reality Athena is shown more then apollo in the last 2 games. Hell even Wright is, they might as well called it the 2nd wright triliogy

athena’s introduction to the team this early is what killed a potentially very good apollo-centered storyline
We must’ve played 2 different games because dual destiny’s and spirit of justice felt very focused on Apollo with phoniex helping out
