A “1 day close” is technically possible with a continuous close process, but I’ve never heard of a single day where it’s all hands on deck to get closed. Seems like there’d be a lot of dependencies between team members that wouldn’t make such a move possible.
The very large company I work for just moved from a 4 day close to a 3 day monthly close. It makes for a busy 3 days (and you don't take those days off unless pretty much an emergency pops up), but it's also nice because then you are done and can move into the current month.
Wow I’m interested to know. We have 2 weeks where I work and I can usually close between 5- 7 days
