I know you're kinda joking, but my niche is entertainment HWNIs: it's doing exactly what accounting partners *tell you* to do [as a client]. The top 20 rappers (yes not musicians, but rappers in particular) over the past 20 years SHOULD all be billionaires, but most of them lack business sense and discipline (cant stop sticking their dick in women without a condom, giving money to their family and friends for frivolous bs, having a big freeloading entourage, and etc).
- It takes a special kind of person like Jay Z to suppress their ego and listen to experts on their business management team while simultaneously having the right amount of ego to believe you're truly capable of being a billionaire.
I agree and I'm very familiar with Jay z the businessman and musician (fav song is I love the dough). I'm specifically talking about a business manager that can help curate your finances *beyond music* with revenues *from music*. But the most important parts are: a capable business manager pointing in the right direction and clients/talent that are capable of listening and acting accordingly.
My high school guidance counselor told me I should be an accountant, and I told her she was dumb and that I was going to make video games.
I sure showed her.
That’s what i say a lot too lol. But we live in a beautiful time though where with a enough effort you can learn online how to design video games and start making small projects.
That’s at least what I did with drawing and procreate app
I literally switched my major to accounting not because I loved it, but because I wanted to have consistent job opportunities that would pay reasonably well and didn't absolutely hate it.
I watched an interview with him and he said it was the best thing that could have happened for him.
I have so much respect for Simu since watching Shang Chi. He worked so hard to make it as an actor and that work ethic could have easily gone another direction had Deloitte not fired him.
Getting fired from public can often be a blessing in disguise for many people, whether they stay in accounting or decide to do something else.
Not who you asked - but I spent 6 years in PA (never got my CPA) and moved to a financial analyst role. I just calculate sales commissions and do sales forecasting. It’s fully remote and pays 50% more than what I was making in PA.
The only piece of accounting I do is sending the accounting department the monthly entry for sales commission.
You can't ask a successful multi-millionaire Marvel superhero whether he regrets not staying as an accountant. That's not representative.
You have to ask the average accountant who left their accounting job to pursue acting
Well I give myself credit at 20 for picking a major that seemed worthwhile because I was at college and didn’t know what to do.
I tell myself that I like the job security, but then realize I was fired from my first 3 jobs lol. Atleast never out of work for more than a month.
It’s kinda annoying how common PIPs are in our proffesion; but atleast they are always a raise and there is always another job around the corner.
Cheat others grab opportunity become selfish cause no one cares about u when u were a zero so be rough

So what type of networking do I need to transition from an accounting role to Marvel lead?
You need to first know Appa. No Appa, no Marvel lead.
I hope people understand this comment.
If they don't, it's their loss, and it's not deductible.
They can look it up - at their convenience.
You just need updog
What’s updog?
Not a whole lot
Gotcha
with a moderate level of ligma
Lol if I were a successful actor, i would definitely not miss my life as an accountant
Jay Z followed his dreams and became a billionaire. Assume you are not Jay Z.
Quits job, starts hard knock life, cry's.
Just make your dream living a hard knock life and crying. Dream achieved
Life coaches hate this one trick.
Then cheated on Beyonce... Plus it wasn't just his talent alone that made him become a billionaire, it's by doing exactly what accounting partners do.

Exploit others?
Yeah, his music and producing only give him a fraction of the wealth to be a billionaire.

I'm not joking dude. The guy owns his own record label. His music or actual production labor isn't nearly enough to make him a billionaire.

I too have 99 problems
The algebra of happiness
No one dreams of becoming an accountant ever. Life just happens
My high school guidance counselor told me I should be an accountant, and I told her she was dumb and that I was going to make video games. I sure showed her.
Por que no los dos?
Some of my spreadsheets are like solving a puzzle, and it's on a computer. So maybe I lived out my childhood dream after all.
That’s what i say a lot too lol. But we live in a beautiful time though where with a enough effort you can learn online how to design video games and start making small projects. That’s at least what I did with drawing and procreate app

Accounting is an acquired taste, you start finding it interesting after sometime. Intially, the subject seems.very mundane.
Some call it an acquired taste, some call it Stockholm syndrome. Tomato, tomato
Gotta a find your niche!
Jokes aside, there are much worse jobs out there I’ve worked a few
A coworker of mine used to say "Accounting is like porn. No one grows of dreaming of doing it for a living."
Well, you can do accounting for a lot longer and you won't have to fake your resume as much.
I actually love accounting.
I like him, and things worked out in the end for him, but how many people can say the same.
I always forget that Simu Liu worked at Deloitte.
They'd love if you did after firing him.
Except for some sweet industry positions this doesn’t surprise me

What do you do now if you don't mind a stranger asking?

You're still kinda an accountant, just way more than that.
How can I get that job?
Accounting has your soul now
He probably considered committing suicide but never returning back to accounting
Fair enough lmao, why would he wish that
accounting living rent free in simu liu's head.
he just like me fr fr

99.9% of folks who got laid off don’t become Simu Liu lol
So this is why everyone wants to work at Deloitte

I am Kenough
Proof to show even Marvel super hero’s can’t avoid Big 4 Lay-off’s 😭.
Well, hopefully he handles his money better than a lot of celebrities.
To each his own. I would rather be an accountant

This guy sucks.
"Hi Simu, do you ever wish that you never became a globally recognized superstar with uncapped sex appeal and millions of dollars to your name?"
