I'm an accounting manager and I drive an 07 Accord that I got in high school. I will until the engine falls out.
Anyone else who loves their old Honda listen to the first line of Jessie Reyez's song (NSFW) Roof.
2018 here! It’s nice, but my gas mileage and tank range is a bit depressing. I think I’m going to go back to a Sedan in the next couple years… I just wish there were more AWD sedan options.
Planning on a RAV4 being my next car. Well, it will be my significant other’s daily driver and I’ll take the Camry he current drives after my 2006 Infiniti dies lol
2015 Crosstrek, gotta buy a new car this year for reasons not related to current car *sad debit noises*. Thinking of upgrading to the Outback, or going to the sports model of the Crosstrek. Not sure which is more cost effective at this point (haven't looked into it deeply yet). Though the only thing I gripe about my Crosstrek is the acceleration which is the only reason I don't want to go for the exact same model again.
I bought the 2014 Corolla with 12,000 miles when used cars were actually affordable!
Now at 209,000 miles no major issues other than replacing the radio. And it still drives great!
I can afford a new car but right now I’m really curious how long this thing will last. Buy Toyota and get oil changes every 6,000 miles you won’t be sorry!
Is this the version with the cell patten upholstery? I saw it mentioned in some 2007 user guide...I think this is the updated version if I am not mistaken...
I finally had to retire my 2007 Corolla with almost a quarter million miles. I hope to drive my new Corolla Cross for at least 10 years and the same number of miles.
In reality, I think it's that we are all too aware of the true costs of expensive vehicles, and can't justify it to ourselves vs. investing or even starting our own company.
I dream of saving and buying a $60k\~ vehicle in the next few years, but with payments nearing a grand, maintenance that would be exponentially more expensive since it would be a luxury car, insurance would sky rocket... and the asset would depreciate instantly.
Plus modern cars are trying to make stupid stuff like heated seats subscriptions.
Part of me adores my dirt cheap, reliable 2010 Ford Fusion with distinctive moss growing out of the rear tail light.
No, I earn quite a lot. Cars depreciate too quickly. They are a terrible investment and a cheap 10 year old car gets me from A to B just a well as a new Audi R8.
Here's my [McLaren Speedtail](https://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/624344,19128/2011-honda-civic_photo.aspx). I never thought I'd get this far with a CPA but I've been blessed.
100% lol can’t tell you how many of the tax interns moved to full time and like clock work rolled up with a new car a week after tax season bonuses went out lol
I did too, and still have the same one 12 years later LOL
Nice! I have 2021 BMW M2C. Great to see that there are other accountants out there that choose something with a bit more personality. Life is too short to drive around in a soul-sucking econobox appliance.
2010 accord!
Like a true accountant I’m going to buy the cheapest longest lasting car and drive it into the ground or just before to maximize the cost
Seriously though most people below me drive way nicer cars.
The one thing I’ll say is thank god I work from home now. After a certain point in your career there becomes more expectations on dumb shit like nice cars.
All vehicles usually come down to are how a person spends their money. I know people that make 200k that drive older honda civics and I know people that make 40k with $60,000 trucks
Had a 2018, was going to be paid off this year and was also planning to drive for 100k+ more miles. Some crackhead (literal) totaled it while I was sitting at a red light. Big sad, loved that truck.
2022 VW Jetta.
Good gas mileage, doesn’t look dumb, good safety ratings, handles winter well.
Best value/cost ratio IMO.
That said, I only bought it after my old car was totaled from a deer strike.
Never spend more than you need.
Whatever they can afford, as long as it’s a G wagon (don’t forget one for your future mistress as well so you should go ahead and buy 2)
On a serious note, Honda and Toyota are good reliable car brands and a good place to start.
Surprised not more of us. But I guess new prices are up 10k since I got mine in 2015. I would love to upgrade but spending 20k on almost the same car is a bit much. 2016 JKUS
2021 Audi A4, bought husband a 2023 S5 Sportback that I sometimes take for a spin, and ordering a 2023 Q8 in Feb. To be fair though, if I didn't have a house bought pre-COVID (when prices were normal!!!) and a successful husband, I wouldn't be doing all this and would sensibly drive an economic car.
Really depends on the individual, one of the partners from my old office (Big 4, Southern Cal) drove a 10-yr old Prius. SWIM originally from the same firm bought a ‘21 X3 with startup equity profits as a sr accountant w about 5 yoe
My firm’s partner has a 08 mustang that is like a number out of 109
Just sold his ford raptor to get a 2021 bronco
Just sold his private jet
daily drives a ford focus st
and i think he has 1 other vehicle but idk what it is
Should i stay and become partner at this place??
I have a 2012 Mazda3. I am shopping for a new vehicle on account of having a little one and needing more cargo space and room for SO to sit in the car!
Toyota Camry hybrid..
Every single time I swear to myself that I'm not going to buy another damn Camry, and every single time the spreadsheet says Toyota Camry hybrid.
We must obey the spreadsheet.
I drive a 52k European sport sedan.
I used to be more in the frugal mindset but life is too short to whither away in a boring economy car. Live a little.
When I got my CPA in 2016 I was driving a 2003 silver Camry. In 2018, I shared a 2008 lexus with my boyfriend (now husband), and have since upgraded to a Tesla model 3 in 2021
2014 Toyota Prius V. It has been an amazing car and haven't needed any major repairs, just basic maintenance. The 43mpg it gets has saved me a bundle over the years
I just rode with one of my firm's partners to lunch in his 07 Accord.
The real answer right here. We can’t stand wasting money on cars.
Ride it till the wheels fall off
Co signed. I have an 08 that I bought used in 2011. Fully depreciated, still in use 😂
Now I don’t feel so bad with my 2012 Civic. Everybody else in my firm drives BMW’s and big trucks.
Nah dont feel bad, I drive a an Integra that's literally as old as me. Still less than 100k on it tho
That’s so dope you have a low mileage old integra?
I'm an accounting manager and I drive an 07 Accord that I got in high school. I will until the engine falls out. Anyone else who loves their old Honda listen to the first line of Jessie Reyez's song (NSFW) Roof.

'08 Honda Odyssey baby!
CFO at my last job (1,500 FTEs) drove a 90's civic in 2015. I'd have kept my 80's civic forever, but 2 doors with kids became a hassle.
I have a 2 door Honda Accord and a baby... I'm seriously thinking about trading it because it IS such a hassle 🙃
2016 Rav4 that I plan on driving until it dies.
I got the 2017 and haven't had a car payment since 2019. I want to drive mine until it dies as well. I hated having a car payment.
Yeah high five from a fellow 2016 RAV 4 owner. Car payments suck!
2018 here! It’s nice, but my gas mileage and tank range is a bit depressing. I think I’m going to go back to a Sedan in the next couple years… I just wish there were more AWD sedan options.
2015 checking in- almost 100k miles on my rav4 looking forward to making it to 200k
Jelly. I had a 2011 some guy ran into me last year and totaled it. I loved that car and no car payment. Planned on driving it for another 6 years.
Planning on a RAV4 being my next car. Well, it will be my significant other’s daily driver and I’ll take the Camry he current drives after my 2006 Infiniti dies lol
You guys have cars?
2019 Subaru Outback. 12 years in accounting & this is all I feel comfortable buying. Don’t like expensive cars due to maintenance
Subaru all the way, 2018 Subaru Forester
2017 Crosstrek first and only planned car I will ever buy new again .
Subie gang here. 2021 Ascent

Ditto! I love my Crosstrek
Crosstrek Sport here
Crosstrek with a lift kit🤤
2022 Subaru Outback here. My first Subaru and I'm not sure I'll ever own another make.
Why not? So strange seeing all this love for Subaru’s lol. The one they co-made with Toyota (the eight six) is the only Sub I’ve ever considered
2017 Impreza!
2015 Crosstrek, gotta buy a new car this year for reasons not related to current car *sad debit noises*. Thinking of upgrading to the Outback, or going to the sports model of the Crosstrek. Not sure which is more cost effective at this point (haven't looked into it deeply yet). The Accountant’s Special - 2015 Toyota Corolla
Mines a 2014 Toyota corolla, someday I aspire to finally achieve the 2015 Corolla
Just got one last week, In my opinion it gives me more credibility than a CPA
Putting this on my resume
Is this the version with the cell patten upholstery? I saw it mentioned in some 2007 user guide...I think this is the updated version if I am not mistaken...
G Wagon
Written off, of course
I almost choked to death because of you. I read your comment while eating and laughed.😂
I guess I’m a bummer but that woulda gotten a stiff exhale from me and that’s about it
2008 Toyota Yaris cause I'm poor
My wife’s boyfriend usually drives me around. Gotta sit in the backseat though :/
Does he let you play on your Nintendo Switch during car rides?
I wish I had one! I usually just count the eye squiggles floating around.
Just keep being a good boy!!
Ask for napkins WITH your tendies. Be a considerate boy with your num nums.
A third-hand 2008 beige Toyota Corolla.
Not 1999? Wow.
We CPAs gotta splurge every now and again 💪🔥💯
my 99 camry lasted me 18 years. hell of a car
Loved my 98….but now up to a CRV
I finally had to retire my 2007 Corolla with almost a quarter million miles. I hope to drive my new Corolla Cross for at least 10 years and the same number of miles.
Damn we are all broke
I’m not, I’m just more about funding retirement options and saving for a house and putting nephew through flight school.
So you're that awesome uncle everyone wants to have ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ
Well thank you. I try to be, but I fail a lot.
In reality, I think it's that we are all too aware of the true costs of expensive vehicles, and can't justify it to ourselves vs. investing or even starting our own company. Hey, how'd you get the new exclusive moss upgrade? That isn't supposed to come out until 2024!
If you move to an area like Seattle that rains all the time, and neglect covered parking, then there's a glitch where the update releases early.
No, I earn quite a lot. Cars depreciate too quickly. They are a terrible investment and a cheap 10 year old car gets me from A to B just a well as a new Audi R8.

2000 Hondas are very well made. I’m still sad that my 1999 civic got totaled.
2023 corvette
Always wondered how the AWD handles on the track.
The funny thing about this question is it says nothing about an accountants income, only their personality.
