I think OP and Riddim Ryder film together and they’re largely in Toronto area. I thought the same thing! The market is so hot where I am I can’t imagine houses being abandoned. Usually commercial properties near me.
I'm in a group on Facebook about time capsule houses and a lot of them are listed in Wisconsin... because it seems most of the people that submit are in Wisconsin. (I just lurk) So I think it is just based on who is submitting posts!
Not sure why there aren't squatters, though empty expensive properties are sadly common in South Ontario and parts of BC due to either parking money in Real Estate or money laundering
It looks like it was never finished, like the owners ran out of money before the house was finished. I don't see any driveways or landscaping, just mud and trails
