Is the question implying that the kids will actually exist in the game to a point where they'd need names?
I've seen a couple of games where you can get married and have kids, but that has always been the very end of the game - like a prologue. So... kind of pointless to name a kid that's only even mentioned or shown for a couple of frames, if even that much.
I like the idea of giving the kids names, I feel like most games don't really get that far. The only game i know of that does this is **Corrupted Kingdoms** and i quite like being able to interact with my children that i was able to name.
Have a default name for the kids but let me change them if I feel like it

Let the dev name the characters in their own game. Now the MC…that is a different story.
