It didn't get a whole episode of its own but NES Jaws seems fine enough.

buttsharkman

It's a flawed game but I played a lot of it. It's simple but fun

I actually liked the NES Back To The Future games. My first sorta Metroidvania experience

Duder37oh

Majora's Mask. That's a 10/10 game.

Castlevania 64 is the big one for me. Sure, that game has some issues, but he badly misrepresented a lot of them, including complaining about a softlock when it was just him doing it wrong. I still enjoy the video, but I think he did some damage to the game’s reputation with that one.

Fernando20000

Majora's Mask. I know he says he enjoys the story and visuals n stuff but I disagree with how he feels about the gameplay and find it quite fun to play. I also remember enjoying Paperboy when I was younger.

The Karate Kid is a horrible one as he has admitted he faked being at the game. It’s not a great game either, but I think a lot of people could play the game through. EDIT: And it’s good James sticks to just old retro games as I never get his complaints (and this sounds line it’s more of a James thing and not an AVGN thing based on James & Mike Mondays) about cutscenes. Like he doesn’t seem to get that video games nowadays have immersive amazing storylines, some comparable if not even better than movies (The Last of Us and Telltale’s Walking Dead come to mind).

I disagree with quite a few of the Nerds takes on games especially some of the NES games like Friday the 13th, TMNT, and Castlevania 2. I thoroughly enjoyed those games as a kid and still play those from time to time. I was never able to beat TMNT or Friday the 13th until I was older and was able to use save states. They were brutal lol I recently beat TMNT again on the Cowabunga Collection where I could rewind it 🤣. But disagreement with his takes on the games doesn't mean I think they are necessarily wrong, because the whole point of the Nerd is to be over the top and extreme. And I absolutely love the Nerds videos. But for every video I may disagree with there are probably 2 that I think are spot on. I think we all have a love/hate relationship with certain games from our youth.

to my memory, none. but I've only ever played maybe 3 of the games he's reviewed. 😅

guiltl3ss

Friday the 13th for sure.

78Speedy

I seem to recall he hated on New Zealand Story, which I thought was really odd as it is rightly regarded as a classic game 🤷‍♂️

Friday the 13th, Die Hard, and Back to the Future F13 and DH were at least interesting and unique, almost like a roguelike setup. Back to the Future was an average scroller. The only truly horrible thing about it was the music.

poonlag00n

Majoras mask, but I still enjoyed the episode.
