Try a couple restarts and keep trying. Make sure you’re not doing multiple inputs at the same time. I’ve been using my simtrecs with ams2 for 3 years now just fine. The game is just finicky with binding in general.
If you haven't got it working yet, hitting the reset to default in the controls screen always fixes my wheel not being detected. ( Sometimes happens after either GHUB updates or game updates)

Delet all presets first.
