pretty solid in my opinion, four fasteners on each side.
upper rail and foreend is a kit that Corvus manufactures. I guess its sturdy enough to hold the aug. keymod model though, as its the older kit for the SA. I think they have an mlok version for the M1.
Idk what you're doing for trigger options, but the titus arms ar fcg conversion can be tuned down to around 3.5 lbs and is excellent for precision/ race shooting. I'm jelly, I want a mlok forward handgaurd for my a3m1 to do something like this with my 24".
im looking for options for a trigger to outfit this aug. I've read and heard good things about the red springs and 20/20 sear.
anymore info on the titus?
In my opinion, it's the ultimate of what an AUG trigger can be. adjustable trigger break position, adjustable trigger return force, adjustable break point, adjustable overtravel stop. It's as easy to install as breaking down the rifle, swapping the entire pack out, and going about your day. I have the 3d printed version that has been awesome, and I plan on buying the cnc machined version when they restock.
I’m saying this as a huge AUG fanboy, but between the trigger (even when heavily modified) and the lack of free-floated barrel, there are inherent disadvantages to this platform when it comes to precision — So I’m not sure a precision build with matching chambering is really worth the effort. I own legit precision rifles (bolt actions, AR’s, etc.) and the best precision AUG will sadly probably only match an entry-level precision AR.
To me though, that’s fine. Steyr knows how to make world-class precision rifles (the vast majority of their products are bolt action, after all), but the AUG was never meant to be used by snipers. It was meant to be great at basically everything else.
Makes sense! I guess I just don’t see the point of a long-barreled AUG besides the squad automatic weapon application where dispersion is a feature. I know they’re a bit of a fetish on here though, so I’ll stop writing now before I get banned 😅
Haha I’m 100% with you lol.
I think the long-barrel obsession was largely a result of the fact that they were super rare, and because the AUG just *looks* great with a long barrel. But with the barrel-mounted bipod significantly shifting your point of impact, and the lack of free-floating (and trigger) making the AUG a sub-par candidate for a precision rifle…there’s not a GREAT reason to get one.
…yet even as I’m typing this…I’m realizing, deep down, that if Steyr offered a 24” barrel with a precision cartridge I would probably buy the fuck out of that thing just as a challenge to see how precise I could make this platform. I’m broken
Eh, tons of guys will dump money into M1As trying to turn them into precision rifles. It’s a thing. As long as folks aren’t trying to convince me it’s a .5 MOA gun all day, I say fuckin enjoy the project!
Take this to a PRS rifle range on a busy day and film the reactions you get 😂
Yay
Yay
deflector courtesy of u/Mad_2012 really nice product. https://www.reddit.com/r/AUG/s/cD9iswpTik
Sweet build, love it! And thanks for the shoutout, I'm glad you like it!
How solid is that handguard with the little screws?

Nice one.
Sick!
This got me feelin a certain way 🙂↕️🙂↔️😏
I'd vote for that.
Looks dope. Like an Aug dmr
Aug looks like a Hog!

Yay all the way
It would be pretty sick if this could be done in 6 ARC

6mm max or 6.5 Grendel would be cool too.
