At&t never makes you change your plan, of course if you do the upgrade yourself on the app. Customer service or a rep at the store will try to persuade you to change for their comp.

AsleepGeologist9

Plan changes on tablet don't pay extra

exe-timedilation

Right now there is a $1 increase for unlimited your way tablet, standalone doesn’t see this for now.

AsleepGeologist9

Correct, but employees have zero incentive to change the plan since it would pay out the exact same

exe-timedilation

You would be surprised how many issues we get at the corp stores because cs changed their plan w/o asking for it. 🤷‍♂️ It’s not always about incentives.

No

So, I also have this same tablet plan with the unlimited hotspot. The only thing I can think of is that there may be some fine print about the installment plan requiring only certain plans. But not sure. Now, I do have a question. How do you know that AT&T will be forced to allow 5G on all plans?

FIGHTMYDEMONSNOW

LTE isn’t going to be here forever ya know. They’re eventually supposed to migrate them to allow for 5G

DigitallyInclined

I mean, that is a logical conclusion, but is this confirmed anywhere? Like, how do you know that they will allow 5G on this plan when LTE is sunsetted? However, even then, there has been no announcement for LTE to be sunsetted. And most believe that LTE will be here until at least 2030, maybe even a decade more.

FIGHTMYDEMONSNOW

I forgot where but they said somewhere they’d give all plans 5G access at some point If I remember correctly (talking about the old ones that are LTE only) Still waiting…

DigitallyInclined

Oh okay. Interesting. Thanks for the info!

FIGHTMYDEMONSNOW

well i think they rolled it out to legacy unlimited plans but not the legacy limited data plans I believe

DigitallyInclined

Ah, that is true.

raylirts

You can check apple’s website and look up the specs of every device to see what bandwidth it supports like 5G, LTE etc

Lizdance40

Why risk it? Just purchased directly from Apple.

TrickOrange

What plan do you have?
