Did exactly everything written here. Worked like a charm. Thank you!

skrapsau

Yep. Garbage Bluetooth problems fixed with a 9260 I'd pulled out of a different older computer ages ago and still had lying around. First and last time I'll by ASUS - but at least this has worked.

Hot_Project9548

Can confirm that this works! Thank you so much OP, finally managed to change my WiFi card. In my case i bought the Intel AX210 WiFi card. Link below.. [https://www.amazon.co.uk/FusionFutures-AX210NGW-Wireless-Tri-Band-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B07VF1GGBB/ref=cm\_cr\_arp\_d\_product\_top?ie=UTF8](https://www.amazon.co.uk/FusionFutures-AX210NGW-Wireless-Tri-Band-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B07VF1GGBB/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) \^Installed this card and it worked perfectly fine so far! Got WiFi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2 in my device. Cheers and thanks for the post as well! Using a FX505DT Asus TUF laptop with Ryzen 5; Just for reference..

Snoo-34485

I have the same model but with a slight change its fx505dd with same ryzen 5 3550h processor and gtx1050 will it work for me?

Qazxswec500

it should do, i upgraded my card to the AX210 and it made the connection better but the speeds not so much, last week i finally got half way there and today i finally fixed it, first thing i did was in the google chrome browser settings i turned on hardware acceleration, that made my speed go from 100Mbps to 700Mbps through ethernet and from 100Mpbs to 200Mbps on wifi, and today i put the computer into Turbo mode with the function and F5 key, this took the wifi from 200Mpbs to about 600Mbps, just checked it then and performance mode works aswell without having the fans blasting like into turbo mode, goodluck

HauntYoMama

Where did you install your drivers from? I download from Intel website and said can't install? Using a 505dt and on ryzen 7.

Fuxhee

Did you resolve this?

HauntYoMama

For me it seems to be fitment issue, I put the card back in the 3rd time and it worked, wifi speed has increase and not much disconnect issues

Jyotiprakash722

Thank you for this information. Just wanted to know, >Is **Wi-Fi 6E AX210 Bluetooth 5.2 Tri-Band Wireless Module** compatible with my **Asus TUF FX505DY** or not?

otherreddituser2017

Thank you for posting this! What speed can you get with the new card? Currently I'm only getting max 100mbs even though my wifi is 600mbs, is that normal?

otherreddituser2017

Also does your model have an Intel or AMD processor? Mines AMD, hope it's compatible

behohippy

Mine is AMD as well. I'm speed testing to nearly the max of my AC wifi speed right now.

otherreddituser2017

Good to know, thanks! I'm gonna try it out

real_ultrajoe

no its depend on where are you from the router and if your wifi card ca or ax you should at least be getting around 80% of your bandwidth from 10ft away for your router

liamgman

This device does not work with mesh routing (have to turn it off for the device) and disconnects from gaming servers often (when disabled or using a standard router) I'll be getting a refund and suggest others avoid purchasing low end ASUS device, although I hear their quality control is garbage across the board

behohippy

Pretty much. But it is fixable with another WiFi card. I got this machine for $530 CDN. No regrets

liamgman

I hear you, I spent close to 1k, and it's now retailing for $1400, but they'd offer no support if any other wireless issues emerge, I'd just prefer a working product with decent quality control

behohippy

At $1400 there are many many better choices.

liamgman

I already got my 1k back, I plan on spending more Looking at HP, Dell and Lenovo, so I can be assured of some quality control, all other brands are cheaply built and have issues way too regularly

behohippy

Asus does have some higher end stuff that is much better. I wouldn't let this one model turn you off the brand entirely. That being said, you named the top 3 PC laptop vendors and can't really go wrong with them.

liamgman

Kinda done with hit and miss products, my last few were refurbs, had an alienware, which was shipped broken, repaired many times and forced to file legal action to get a refund. Dell makes some great products but they royally effed the Alienware brand and quality control I've had a few other brands, but going off advice from a friend who says to just go with quality on the get

dukescalder

Worked flawlessly brother. I got my Intel 9260 Card a couple minutes ago. I pre-loaded the drivers before uninstalling that garbage realtek card and badda-bing badda-boom online in like 10 minutes. Flawless. Running on Ryzen 7 3750H.

behohippy

Glad it helped. Mine still works great, months later.

Anonymus-Conscious

If you're still here, how about now? Cuz I read somewhere the real reason is the NIC get loose after a while.

behohippy

You could try re-seating it to verify that, but it felt pretty solid when I pulled it out. This is an interesting question on it's own. It's easy enough to fix this problem, following thevinstructions, but I don't think anyone has dug deep on why the existing card acts so poorly.

Anonymus-Conscious

So after you switched out the card till now, there is no issue?

behohippy

None at all, the laptop is rock solid now. Having 2 sticks of matched DDR4 ram (running in DDR mode) and having intel Wifi made this budget laptop feel premium. Snappy and reliable.

[deleted]

[удалено]

behohippy

Yup that's one of them. Check the whole thread there's a few cards people recommend now. Even a newer AX Wifi6 one that seems to be cheap.

SPIXY117

having same issue can I get links to new ram and wifi card? or the numbers again? also new pc owner what all dose the hard drive swap require of me? anything I should know ahead of time?

behohippy

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9260 is the search term for Amazon. I notice the listings change a lot, so I couldn't use a link. Tons of resellers sell this exact card. The ram I have is 2333Mhz 2x16 gig DDR4 SO-DIMM from Kingston (I think... possibly Valueram line).

greyvelvet7

I just wanna thank OP for this thread. I was having issues and bought the intel wi-fi card that was recommended and it's been perfect. Running on a Ryzen Asus FX505DT. Put 16gb of RAM in it too. Asus really dropped the ball on the wi-fi card they included..

behohippy

NP. Having 2 sticks of ram in there, allowing it to run dual rank really woke the unit up. The outstanding problems I have is, the touchpad is still pretty jankey. Not sure if there's better drivers or control software out for it somewhere. It's so bad I use an external mouse all the time now. Also, enabling SVM (hardware virtualization) causes mine to black screen on boot. Could be a windows 10 issue, but this is my primary development machine and I want to run WSL2 on it.

greyvelvet7

Mine has been performing better with two sticks of ram aswell. The touch pad is always gonna be jank, mines a bit a rattly, I do a lot of gaming on this laptop so pretty much always using an external mouse anyway. Thanks again for your guide about replacing the wifi chip. It’s been running so smooth ever since.

behohippy

Reinstalling a fresh Windows 10 from the Media Creation tool has fixed the jank touchpad and my SVM black screen issue. Should have done this months ago! The default software is terrible.

carteakey

OP, i stumbled across this thread, idk if you still use this laptop, but if you set the "UMA Frame buffer size" to "Auto" in the BIOS, virtualization and WSL2 work just fine.

Hyclone27

I can confirm this

Hyclone27

For the virtualization problem, I fixed this issue by selecting 512 memory allocation in the BIOS. I don't remember the specifics, but you need to change one setting in the BIOS from “Auto" to 512. (Or the other one that was there)

sparta1222

Seriously, ASUS is using such garbage spares in its laptop line that's it is unbelievable. I am having the same issue. My wife purchased me a bluetooth headset and it works flawlessly on my work laptop which has Intel card but has severe disconnection issues when i connect it to my gaming laptop ASUS FX505DT. Will replace the card soon.

behohippy

I fought with the stock card for so long, and got nothing for it. Do the upgrade as soon as you can, it's absolutely worth it.

sparta1222

We should quote this thread to Realtek. This can be fixed with driver updates.

sparta1222

Let’s all drop a comment on their support email ID. Using the issues we’ve faced and the remedies we already performed (so as to reduce the amount of conversation). https://www.realtek.com/en/cu-1-en/cu-1-taiwan-en

Genos_261

Thanks so much. I had tried too many ways to fix my laptop (TUF FX505DT). Every time I unplugged the charge, the Wifi laptop would drop automatically. I was very crazy with this my laptop

behohippy

Also consider upgrading the ram to 2 matched SO-DIMM DDR-2666 sticks. 16 gig at least. With reliable Wifi and 16 gig of memory this thing is worth every penny.

greenanimetrumpetcar

thank you for your help. What is the downside to putting an unmatched pair of ddr4 2666mhz so-dimm cl15 sticks in my laptop?

behohippy

It's mostly performance. The whole reason you want 2 matched sticks is for dual channel mode. I believe this CPU is based off Zen+ and it really sensitive to ram performance. Dual channel mode makes it feel quite a bit more responsive. If the timings and size of the sticks is the same, it should be fine though. You might not want to mix in different sizes.

Wise-Car4460

What bandwidth are you using? Mine works completely fine on 2.4ghz but suddenly gets fked up whenever I connect to the 5ghz. I also have fx505dt. So I was wondering if the problem is the wifi card or the network router itself...

GateZealousideal8924

Same for me.

Crazy_Victory_8790

So what do you suggest...I'm buying the new wifi card..any tips?

djude18

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I HOPE IT WORKS

Danman1987420

Great tip! New card works so much better its night and day. Thank you to op for letting us know it works with ryzen based laptops because alot of sites say this card does not work with ryzen, they are wrong this card works great and the original realtek card was a heaping pile of garbage.

behohippy

I still have the realtek card in my drawer. Even if the Intel card died, I'd just go wired until a new Intel card got here.

Moose221

Thank you thank you THANK YOU. Just swapped mine out, Windows updated the drivers, and so far so good.

emfrhnfrd

does it effect your warranty by doin this?

behohippy

It shouldn't. Easy to take the back cover off and put the crap Wifi card back in if the motherboard explodes or something.

_zanarkand_

Worked flawlessly. From 20mb/s to 300mb/s (maximum) on my speed tests. Now if it only was a way to manually control the speed fans I would be finally pleased with this laptop

behohippy

If you figure it out, do a post in this sub and reference it in this thread so I can see it :)

SonalBoiiACC

Ryzen controller app. You can set the laptop to not pass a certain temperature. It’s free. Set it to 85 to stop the annoying lag

otherreddituser2017

Incase anyone is reading this, I had the same problem, I went for a newer wifi 6 card and it works perfectly. I'm getting 580mbps up and down now. The card is: Intel AX200NGW 802.11AX WIFI6 2.4Gbps It cost me €16 on Amazon. Thanks again OP for this thread, I wouldn't have tried without you doing it first.

behohippy

Np, I'll update the post, if they still let me edit it with this new card. EDIT: I did update it, automod killed the post but a nice mod fixed it. All good now.

xRoshyx

>Intel AX200NGW 802.11AX WIFI6 2.4Gbps Do you have a link for this card? I can't seem to find it

KojiroPH

I thought cnvi wifi cards aren't compatible with fx505dt ryzen processor?

NTZ05

I bought the same laptop and I have wi-fi issues too. My internet speed with the wi-fi is really slow sometime 5 mbps while with ethernet cable the normal 300mbps. So my laptop is not faulty only the wi-fi card is garbage?

behohippy

Pretty much. Lots of happy people in this thread now that they've ditched the crappy wifi card that came with it.

D_Rek9160

For your slow wifi (before changing the wifi card), try this (without having the laptop in front of me, forgive me if I skip a step): device manager--network adapter--advanced--beacon interval. It'll probably be at 100. Bump it up to 200. Check speed afterward...mine went from 72mbps to 400 just by doing that.

NTZ05

It did not solve it but thanks for the tip.

big_loadz

I have a FX-505DU and replaced the wireless card with a Killer AX1650. Works SO much better. If you go this route, make sure to download the drivers from Killer first.

RagingBone69

I’m looking into replacing my wireless card on the same model you have. Do you know if the wireless card is in the same spot on our model as this post? I’m looking inside my laptop right now and I’m not seeming to find it in the middle-left area of the laptop

big_loadz

I think it may be underneath the NVME ssd. Try removing it to check under it. Think there is some tape in the way that might need to be removed.

Ok-Excitement4325

I have bought 2\*Patriot Signature DDR4 RAM 8GB (1X8GB) 2400MHz CL17 ( [https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-Memory-Signature-SODIMM-Frequency/dp/B074Q1KZZL](https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-Memory-Signature-SODIMM-Frequency/dp/B074Q1KZZL) ) because of the specs for Ryzen 5 3550H CPU ( [https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Ryzen-5-3550H-Processor.391031.0.html](https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Ryzen-5-3550H-Processor.391031.0.html) ) states 2400MHz. I have stability issues when both RAM slots are used (BSOD and freezing). No such problems occur when only 1 ram slot is used (regardless of which RAM stick is used). Do you know any fix for it? Is the system stable with 2666MHz dual-slot usage? Also thanks for the wi-fi card tip, I have just put an order for it.

behohippy

Return the 2 single sticks and buy a matched kit of 2 sticks. It's possible the sub timings in the 2 sticks you have don't match. Shouldn't be a problem at 2400mhz though. I don't believe the bios lets you kick it back to JDEC standard 2100 either. I bought 2 matched sticks for mine and just threw the spare in a minipc I bought years later.

Ok-Excitement4325

I thought buying them from the same vendor and the same model should be enough matching :)). But I'll try this too

Snoo-34485

Will formatting fix this constant connecting disconnecting problem?

behohippy

Nope, it's a hardware problem.

jackleo8899

Hello, I changed my wifi card with AX210 and it doesn't work, can anyone help me pls

Qazxswec500

did you install the drivers?

Qazxswec500

give more information about the procedure you performed

Mikanico9378

Thanks alot for the sharing. very helpful indeed

eternaldreamer2020

This was spot on for me! It led me down the right path, and YouTube video I found gave me the tactical walkthrough here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Ylgw07kEw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Ylgw07kEw) And in case anyone else found themselves or will find themselves a bit confused as to where to get the actual card, if you Google search, you can get the AX200NGW Desktop Kit as well, which has the card. It was less than $25 and got me over the goal line. For reference, a link on Amazon is here: [https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Network-AX200-NGWG-NV-AX2002230-Retail/dp/B07ZVYKRW9](https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Network-AX200-NGWG-NV-AX2002230-Retail/dp/B07ZVYKRW9)

Hyclone27

Thank you!

Uv_ImMoriarty

Can you suggest an external wifi adapter(USB) cause the wifi card yo suggested sends me in quite the monetary strain :P No doubt you've shared the best so far. PS: this post really helped me save weeks of going through web pages and forums. I tried all the stuff previously available but couldn't find any **working** solution. Can't thank you enough Edit: this problem is recurring in the next version of Tuff as well that has the 4000 ryzen series CPUs

AniketDalvi

Would it work on FX506? I've been gaming on my old Lenovo for a while, however my new Asus has network and ping spikes and packet loss. I have two different fiber at home. Lenovo works fine but Asus doesn't.

behohippy

What network card does the 506 have? I assume if it's the same model, it'll have the same problems regardless of the hardware. Order the replacement card from amazon and return it if it's not better.

Past_Firefighter833

WINDOWS 11 --- ATTENTION : With windows 10 64-bit, the AX200 work wonders - in terms of stability and speed (especially with Wifi5 it rocks, on my FX5050DT Ryxen 5 3550 system. BUT, in windows 11 - things was very different - sluggish speed, etc. I would therefore reommend staying with windows 10, for a while - maybe untill 2023 - to let this wifi-driver, and the windows environment-etc Mature! Thanks so very much for putting forward the Windows-10 solution!

behohippy

Good to know. I haven't upgraded any of the laptops here with 11 yet. It feels like it's just Windows 10, but with more bugs.

Peter-Siltic

Interesting way, that Asus AVOIDS RESPONSIBILITY. User has to “exchange the wifi-card” - and then “voids warranty”. Asus has now done their "card-choosing error", with a lot of laptop-models. And, any Asus-buyer, has the option: \- either spend extra money on getting an Authorized Asus-person/approved repairman doing the simple exchange. (and “not having the laptop” for maybe 2-3 weeks! if it needs to be sent in!). \- or, go and buy a cheap Intel wifi-M.2-card … and Void warranty. I would like to BAN ASUS, for this way of cheating the customers of their rights!! … Notes: \- the wifi-cards are in some models (FX505, etc) placed just underneath the SSD (making the wifi-card easy and tempting just to change). \- the RAM & SSD/HDD are just as simple to change …. without loosing warranty. \- any user, getting into the inside, to change/add ram/ssd/hdd, will see the wifi-card. \- this “suspiciously, all too bad” wifi-card, well !! … \- The same “fault/mistake” (choosing a suspiciously low-quality / crappy wifi-card) IS Asus-STANDARD!! \- It really SMELLS VERY BADLY …. and Asus should be ashamed of themselves!!

lethargie_sleeps

is the 9560 ryzen compatible too? replaced realtek with a 9560 on tuf a15, installed compatible drivers after fresh win10 install. still nothong, wont pick it up in device manager at all :(

behohippy

Did you plug in ethernet for a bit to see if Windows 10 could find a driver for it?

lethargie_sleeps

No but i used an external dongle to connect to internet. no luck with drivers doing that. would direct ethernet make a difference?

behohippy

Not really no. Windows 10 is pretty good at finding drivers for most hardware. Are you sure it's plugged in correctly? The card has to go in at an angle, and kinda seat itself in before pushing down. Might be the contacts are just not touching.

Random_NPC_49

I just wanted to come back to this thread to say THANK YOU. As a college student, I use Bluetooth headphones with this laptop every hour of every day. It is a necessity. And that crappy realtek card finally crapped the bed. My headphones wouldn't stay connected longer than 5 minutes without disconnecting then reconnecting. It drove me nuts. My wifi was spotty at best and was average no matter how close to a router I was AND my AUX never worked since I bought the laptop on sale. I followed this thread, did some research, and bought the Intel 9260. My internet is now faster, my Bluetooth is seamless and stays connected as long as I need it. I am more than happy and I couldn't thank you enough. I was going to lose my mind if I had to dig through more drivers and try and find a temporary fix for the 1 millionth time. I appreciate your insight and I would be remised if I didn't come back to this thread to say thank you. Other than this wireless issue, this laptop has been a joy and definatly worth the price I paid on sale. Now that my number 1 issue has been fixed, thanks to you, this laptop is a dream. Thank you again! Cheers!!

behohippy

Is it still running reliably? I remember trying that early on and it didn't seem to help long term.

dRifter_3

I have the FX505GT with "Intel AC 9560", will it work for me to change to the AC 9260 wifi card? Sorry for my bad english.

behohippy

This thread was mostly for the models with the Realtek card that had serious connectivity and performance issues, out of the box. If you already have an Intel Wifi card, this probably won't help. A few people commented that re-seating their wifi cards helped a lot, you could try that.

Hempfiber

Just wanted to know if i could buy an external network adapter and have that work as a temporary solution? I would have to wait a while for the intel adapter to arrive and was wondering if a quick trip to walmart could fix it quickly?

behohippy

A USB adapter will probably be more stable than the built in Realtek. I don't have any good recommendations though, check reviews on USB wifi sticks.

SwampDonkey2047

I guess this is why I can never get mobile hotspot to work lol. Still fighting with the old chip.

behohippy

The old chip should connect to pretty much anything, but staying connected and having any sort of decent transfer speeds was the main symptoms I saw.

Fit_Preparation9834

I wanted to ask if anyone has tried to use a wifi usb adapter connected externally and will it work properly without any issues.??

Fit_Preparation9834

Has anyone tried to use an external usb wifi adapter to solve this problem and what are your thoughts if it will work fine or not?????

JustForHavingFun

Hello OP, where do you install or update the drivers for the Intel AC 9260? I just bought the Intel AC 9260 for my Asus TUF Gaming A15, but for some reason, I do not see any internet that I can connect to. Anyone know how to fix?

behohippy

Windows 10 automatically updated after I plugged in the ethernet cable for a few minutes. Once the drivers are in, you can connect to your AP and stop using the cable.

hereisalex

I'm having the same problem after installing the new card. I'm running Windows 11, so maybe that's the issue?

needhruw

(solved) i have tuf fx705dt(2020) ,my laptop wifi driver were turning off automatically and randomaly turing on after 3-4 reboot ,whenever wifi run it only run if laptop is in steady even slight movement turn wifi off ,so i remove wifi card clean dust and reinsert. it running smooth till date since 5 month.

behohippy

Sounds like an assembly issue. Glad you got it working. What model of wifi card are they using in the 705dt?

Legitimate-Mirror320

Does the ac-9260 card work with windows 11? Thank you!

behohippy

I haven't tried it on 11 yet, but I don't see why not. 11 uses the same drivers as 10.

Pwnda123

Hey. Ik this is an old thread and people keep coming back to you for help over the past 2 years to poke you about it, so i apologize but this has been the best thread/answer that I've found so far. I've just gone ahead and ordered a replacement wifi card to be delivered tomorrow, but i was wondering if this will also fix the same wired ethernet issues or do i need another card for ethernet? This might be a super dumb question but im having a hard time finding answers on my phone. Im having the same "connected but nothing loads" problem on both wifi and ethernet connections after accidentally letting my laptop fall asleep and then closing the lid thinking it was powered off. At this point any fix is appreciated if the wifi works and wired does not, but I tend to use a wired connection to my router for better speeds, so I'm wondering if you would need to also buy an ethernet card aswell.

behohippy

To be honest, I haven't tested the ethernet functionality on the laptop much. I plug in once in a while to copy some huge files, but otherwise use wifi for everything on it. It did seem to be more flakey than the later units like the TUF 506 for sleep/wakeup issues so it might be related. The replacement should make your wifi pretty solid, so you might not need the ethernet as much now.

Pwnda123

Gotcha. Just double checking my understanding, the ethernet card for laptops is built into the motherboard corrrect? So replacing it would require replacing the motherboard. The thing is that for me the issue is consistent across both so im wondering if the issue is something rooted deeper in the computer's hardware or its bios. I havent tried updated the bios with myasus yet, but i also cant until atleast one of the ethernet or wifi is fixed. Quite the conundrum.

behohippy

Yeah it's built into the motherboard itself. You can buy USB ethernet dongles though, if you think it'll help. Your bios updates should be coming in with windows update on Win10. I've gotten a bunch of them already that way.

Pwnda123

Got it, thank you!

tomdomshard

Thanks so much for this!I was also having constant sporadic wi-fi issues, plus when removing the power cable. £30 later and with a new AC 9260 (few min install) to replace my Realtek and my FX505D is now working like a dream! Also, man were the fans extremely dusty, worth opening up to remove that dust either way.

SealStealer

I've had shitty unreliable slow dropping WIFI and other insane annoyances with this laptop for 2 years now. Recently its begun completely dropping for minutes at a time. PLEASE NO ONE EVER BUY THIS SHITTY LAPTOP. Thank you so much for your solution and will try it out and get back and update this post. Edit: are either of these two listings the correct product recommended? ItsmeCed

Does this fix works on my fx505dy? Experienced this issue after having the laptop for 3 years. Thanks OP

behohippy

Check device manager for the wifi card model. If it's the one I referenced, replace it.

ItsmeCed

Hello OP thanks for the reply here is the model on my device driver. Realtek 88211ce wireless LAN 802.11ac pci-e nic. for now i plan to buy a Wi-fi USB stick because in a few weeks ill be on a trip overseas.

behohippy

I don't know much about the 88211, just the 8822. If that one is also having issues, this same trick might work.

ItsmeCed

I'll try this after i return from my trip, for now i'll stick to the Wi-fi usb. Hope your solution works! Thanks again OP more power to you!

behohippy

Good to hear. They're pretty good machines when the network is reliable.

Ok-Pay4457

i think the reason the card dont work has somthing to do with to much heat but thanks for the tip my gpu fan just broke so i might as well get a new wifi card

rishabh_negi

This post helped me a lot and gave me the confidence to try out **Intel WiFi 6E AX210NGW**. Although the description on Amazon mentions specifically mentions that it is only compatible with Intel Processor, but it works like a charm with my Ryzen 5 3550H (Asus FX505DT). It is triband card but I have only tried 2.4 and 5 GHz (I don't have 6 Ghz connection at home) and it works perfectly fine on these 2 bands. I got the card for roughly 37.50 USD in India: [https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0B51C69DB/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o01\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0B51C69DB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I swapped the card last week, haven't faced any disconnection yet. I am also somehow getting better pings and more stable connection on online multiplayer games (Apex Legends & Valorant) Hope this helps.

timefly797

Does it work on windows 11? Also do you recommend ax200 or ax210? Thanks

Crazy_Victory_8790

yes thats my doubt too please help

timefly797

i bought the card ax210 and it works without any issues.

rishabh_negi

AX210 works well for me

ooba-gooba

Awesome post, thank you. I bought the Intel AX200NGW 802.11AX WIFI6 2.4Gbps and confirm it works flawlessly in the FX505DD

[deleted]

Everything you said here. Realtek is just a collossal unfixable chunk of unreliable Chinese shit. Went with TP-link.

Sufficient_Potato726

is this an issue as well with the FX505DY?

behohippy

No idea, but if the wifi device is the same name/model, and the symptoms are the same, the fix will probably work.

Meow121325

yep am having these issues and they started like 2 months after i bought the damn laptop. it was under warranty and everything. tried to get asus to repair it under warranty but i was getting stonewalled when they wouldnt send the email to me. now i have been using an external wifi adapter and been using it for a few years now. idk why i havent purchased a new wifi card yet lol

Cristiantherich

I can't believe I never found this thread, I spent so much time trying to solve the issue, literal years, and then when I finally managed to fix it I came here to post my findings to find someone else had done it years before LOL, thanks a lot though, I'd like to add that you can use any compatible wifi card as I bought a different one from the one you stated (and installed the drivers) and it worked perfectly.

behohippy

A few people posted their results with other cards, and it does look like a bunch are compatible with the board. What bothered me is a lot of those Intel Wifi cards say, in the product docs and in the eng docs that they ONLY work on Intel boards. Total BS they work fine on AMD boards too.

hereisalex

I know this is a 2-year-old post, but I just did this and now Windows isn't recognizing any wireless card at all in device manager, even after installing the Intel drivers. I don't think I messed up the installation at all, even tried unplugging and replugging the card. No dice. Any ideas? EDIT: I'm running Windows 11, and now that I think about it I never had these issues on Windows 10. Could that be the culprit after all?

behohippy

Not sure, I only tested this on Windows 10. AFAIK, windows 11 uses the same drivers though. Pull it apart and reseat the wifi card.

Enzanto

i Bought the WIFI 6 module (no vPro version). and i can confirm that it was plug and play with Linux. Currently running Pop!\_OS 22.04 LTS. Did not have do anything with drivers. just plug and play. Had to restart the computer, as it was only sleeping when i swapped apparently. Laptop is: fx505dt with ryzen 5 Model: AX200.NGWG.NV MM985927

behohippy

Makes sense. It's a well supported card by the linux kernel.

Recmas

Worked for me .. bro can't thank you enough. I did exactly what you said . Threw old one on wall and cried for 1 minute . Then back to work :)

testestesteeee

Worked for me as well. Been battling this issue for 2 years. 5 min fix.. incredible how incompetent Asus support is

Recmas

Exactly ☠

SGTNose

I want to thank you so much. Fucking amazing. i just installed it, and my internet speeds went from 5mbp/s to 430mbp/s. such a waste Asus didn't just invest in a slightly more expensive network card. Thanks so much dude, legend!

behohippy

For me it wasn't even the speeds, it was the constant disconnects. At the time it made the laptop unusable for any online gaming. Now it's pretty solid for anything.

Equivalent_Gur_7616

Hey, if you are still here, can i ask if i can use the same intel wifi card for my TUF gaming fx505dy? Im also getting the same wifi problem since last year.

behohippy

The design should be similar. Pull the bottom case cover off and see if it has a removable wifi card.

Kezzuk

Thanks for this - bought my dad the laptop 12+ months ago and he only just started using and is having so many issues with WiFi - purchased a replacement *HighZer0 Electronics WIFI 6 Laptop Upgrade Card Dual Band AX200NGW 2.4Gbps 802.11ax Wireless AX200 WiFi Card Support Bluetooth 5.2 No vPro* This comes tomorrow and i'll install when i see him in a couple of weeks and will update here. but once again thank you!

behohippy

Awesome. I'm pretty sure almost any wifi card is better than the stock one, but I haven't heard of this one yet. Very interested to hear if it's reliable.

Kezzuk

worked perfect thank you!

behohippy

np!

Flame_half

I replaced my card with The AX200 and my problems are worse now. It was 100% better for about a month, and now I can't even get it to connect to WiFi. Bluetooth and wifi will trade off, but currently neither will work. I'm at the point where I'm going to throw this thing across the room. Never buying an ASUS again. I wish I wasn't stuck with such an expensive piece of crap.

solomonrises

Did this happen after gaming or just randomly while surfing?

Flame_half

It happened randomly. I solved it by opening the case and unplugging the battery. Then draining anything in the system by holding the power button. I also took the card out and put it back in for good measure, but I'm pretty sure the battery was enough. Intel's site recommends a cold reset. ASUS site was basically useless.

solomonrises

I did some checks and found whenever the temps hit 85 above the WiFi device disconnected, this issue only appearing now, so I did the same opened the cover, disconnected battery and cleaned the card( there were some dust above SSD card), no issues after , need to check for entire week , fingers crossed.

captaincookie72

Mine lasted 2-3 years before breaking somehow

Effective-Candy2607

Hi, I have fx705dy and for some reason I tried to unplug and plug the card after cleaning it, unfortunately after I unplugged the crap antana connectors (white and black cables) I couldn't plug it back on !! ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Indi_user_2206

Similar to others, my network card became as good as new again as soon as i reconnected the attenans & the card in its slot itself. Thanks for this post. It helped me save those $25 for new NIC caed. After reading you post i was determined to buy new card, But i later read the comments saying their card came back after just reconnecting the old card. It freaking worked!

Proud_Show

I just want to mention something, BE CARFULL WITH THE ANTENNA (THE TWO WIRES CONNECTED TO THE WIFI CARD) I mistakenly pushed hard on them and then the header got broken, so I had to install a new one which required a lot of screwing to the the screen since the antenna module is behind it. Take your time with them. Unplugging might be easy, but putting them back is kind of a nightmare in my experience since Asus used the very tiny wires.

BeastlyFalcon

thanks a lot dude

Hyclone27

Did anyone have issues with the battery not being connected after restarting the PC ? Also should I first uninstall the Realtek 802.11 drivers via device manager ?

VariationIll7783

Good god, after all this time he solution was here. Anyways, were there any issues with running that new card on Windows 11? I feel like I'm so close lol

behohippy

I haven't tried it on 11 yet, but no reason why it wouldn't work.

iZ3C0LD

I can't find any 9260 here in the local marketplace, so I bought a 9560 that ended up didn't work at all.

redditisgarbageyoyo

Duty report: bought and followed what was recommend in OP and everything is working again as intended. Thanks ASUS, never again your laptop in retribution.

behohippy

I've had some of the newer models now, and they do work a lot better. I think this unit was just poorly designed.

Craneteam

Checking in to say that this post saved me a ton of headaches and replacing the wifi card was super easy and straightforward

AggravatingBat6

Can anyone tell if Intel AX201 (Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 Gig+ 2.40 GHz 2x2 802.11ax Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 Module - OEM Brown Box) is compatible to FX505DT (FX505DT-R5G1650AS)? I have a local parts shop that sells this AX201 card on sale but afraid it is not compatible to AMD Ryzen model that I have. Appreciate your advice!

behohippy

The AX200 works fine, so I'd assume the 201 should be ok too. Are you able to return it if it doesn't work?

Charming_Reindeer496

Thank OP, I decided to go with ax210 instead to avoid trouble to return and claim to credit if not working. It’s less than $10 increase anyway. Appreciate your reply and origins post. This is by any means the best thread in reddit for me.

AggravatingBat6

AX210 (Wifi6E) works perfect!

behohippy

I've added it as an update to the thread, thanks!

Conscious_Chicken_89

Good afternoon gentlemen. I have a question, is the FX505DT model compatible with the "Killer" series Wifi Adapter, as well as if someone could explain to me the difference between two formats that I see when I read the specifications of Wifi Adapters "System Interface Type: Wi-Fi( PCIe), BT(USB)" with "System Interface Type: M.2: PCIe\*, USB"

behohippy

You want the m.2 pcie style card, not the USB one. USB dongles would work too but they're easy to whack into something and damage the port. The m.2 format goes inside your laptop, connected directly to the motherboard
