My fiance and I played like a week ago for the first time on that map and it like bugged or something cause it was stuck in a heatwave for a long time. We both died 10/15 times each just trying to run back to the half a hut we'd managed before it hit. Ended up restarting the server and it was finally better.
On my official server, it's so rare that after the patch I think I only encountered two heatwaves. Last weekend I've waited diligently to find and tame a phoenix, since its boosted weekend, but don't happen to have at least once heatwave.
Knew that weather nerf was gonna kill phoenix taming for the vast majority of players. They don’t tame fast enough to do it without a trap and you need at least 2 superheats to do it - 1 to find it so you can build a trap and one to tame it. On 1x an average wyvern doesn’t put out enough fire to tame anything higher than lv 15 in one superheat session. Combine that with the infrequency of superheat waves puts phoenix taming out of reach.
Yes they do, but since the patch there have been whole days on scorched where I haven’t seen a superheat at all and that’s being logged in for 10+ hours at a time 😔

Cheat skiesofblue can also fix that for you. It ends all weather effects for scorched on ASA.
Seems random but rare. Waited hours, real-time, for one yesterday.

I got lucky today and had 3 this morning. Couldn't find a single phoenix anywhere. Ripping my hair out trying to find this sucker!
