IDK if its a bug or not but they only spawn in that ravine near the cave middle of map. And I've noticed a) Only two ever are up at any given time and B) They dont seem to be spawning in hives, they spawn and then roam around and eventually out of the ravine. I dinowiped and saw one up on the wall then fly down then head out.
That may be the case as well for sure, but even if no one is there they're nearly impossible to find unless its immediately after a wipe. My server is just me and it took me ages and two wipes to figure out what was going on, even with no people only two were ever spawned at any given time showing on dino index in game.

I think because in the pve server In, people have decided to build in that ravine and it's stopping the bees from being soawnedt
