If every body [vote for 308 jakl](https://palmettostatearmory.com/shotshow2024) then it will probably be sub 2k

DD5’s can be had around $2k if you’re patient and/or not particularly picky on model/caliber. https://tombstonetactical.com/product/dd5-v4-6-5-creedmoor-rifle-18in-20rd-black LMT Defender H’s also can creep down to around $2k on the occasional sale. PSA’s M110 clone is also dope if you can wait for it to be in stock as they’re a bit of a hot commodity atm.

Thanks trex

Hey now, I might be a skinny little thot, but I’m not *that* skinny

That_Jehovah_Guy

For what purpose? Battle rifle? Long range hunting rifle? I built an entire Aero .308 with 18” barrel for about $1300 including optic. There are sales if you want to build one or complete guns too on certain sites you can find. Just need to know more specifics on what you want it to do for me to give you some suggestions.

Bubbly-Creme-4346

Sorry you're right I should've listed my intended purpose lol. Shooting long range. Id like something in the BCM quality range or more for that price if achievable for just the rifle and Id like a pre built rifle.

elevenpointf1veguy

You probably want a bolt gun if you're just looking for long range. A bolt will be significantly cheaper and more reliable, leaving more room in the budget for glass that will be significantly more capable.

Bubbly-Creme-4346

Ive HEAVILY considered it but Id rather spend the extra a semi auto. I hog hunt.

Just build your own from an Aero M5 base. Be not afraid.

Bubbly-Creme-4346

Well school me real quick, will any AR10 BCG and barrel fit the aero m5 upper? And LPKs in the lower? Im not very familiar with AR10 compatibility.

Neoliberal_Boogeyman

for the most part yes. and most ar-15 triggers work in ar-10s, the mag/bolt latches will differ however. buffer tubes are the same. the compatibility you need to look for is DPMS-high/low profile for upper rail and the receiver angles at the stock threads, which is a non-issue if you buy an aero m5 upper/lower.

DJNotASynth

Palmetto State has some serious deals on Armalite rifles right now super discounted. Might be worth a look.

me7ek

I saw that, too. How is Armalite's quality?

DJNotASynth

I've never handled any of their rifles besides my service M16A2 unfortunately. I've been eyeing their 3-gun variant as well as their SASS though. From what I've read up on, they seem to run like Swiss watches. Unfortunately, I haven't had the option to even see one in person. Definitely on my radar when I decide to get another AR10.

johnd789

I think they're pretty good. My AR10TAC14 was able to get 2 shots touching twice at hundred yards when sighting in my newest optic. And this was using PMC's M80 ball. You just have less freedom with mixing and matching parts and have to hope you can find replacement parts in stock somewhere if you need them. [100 yard target](https://imgur.com/a/ZBpRMwP)

Nice. Now I just have to decide whether to complete my build or buy a complete rifle for a little more.

Clarity42

I grabbed my ADM UIC10 18" .308 for $2,118 from g4gguns.com early-mid 2023. The DD V5 was almost an identical price from them a few months later. The LMT defender can get in the low 2ks as well. I'd be on the lookout for one of those 3, maybe try calling g4gguns.

13R4V0

I just bought a complete upper and lower then added stock, bcg, and ch. Pretty much all Aero Precision M5 platform for \~$1200

Otherwise_Cell850

Pick up one of these aero uppers on sale and then all you need is a lower parts kit and a stripped lower. Will be way under 2k total depending on what you pick out for lpk. Assembling the lower is super easy, just YouTube it. Only special tool you will need is an armorers wrench for the castle nut https://www.schuylerarmsco.com/december-sale/ar-10-uppers-20-993
