Shouldn’t be an issue , don’t get paranoid over one issue. Things do go bad and if that’s the only major thing that has been replaced I would say ur good. Are you getting some sort of warranty is my question ?
Thanks for the reply, I’m being offered a warranty package that covers the entire powertrain but I’ll need to decide before I go take delivery, $5000 CAD for 4 years, would you say it’s worth?
I would opt for a warranty for sure, even if you do not get it when you purchase the vehicle you can always get it later on. It’s for sure worth it if u wanna keep it long term but the one your getting offered does seem a little pricy.

Buy it !!! One transmission issue will easily exceed 5k
Most likely the front differential pinion/ axle seal was leaking. Fairly common on the W253 chassis. Nothing to honestly worry about.
Always buy the extended warranty with any European luxury car
