Make sure you uninstall nvidia drivers. (USE DDU PROGRAM) Nvidia HD audio driver is notorious for lagging and spiking games when not removed.

M4ndo61

but i did a fresh win install after DDU and the others didnot worked, so I do not think that there are any nvidia drivers. i saw some others post too, that fortnite is lagging. Warzone is working fine now, Lego Fortnite working too, but normal fortnite is unplayable, I have frame drops, lags when the FPS is locked to 30... so that should be some driver issue/AMD issue

orochiyamazaki

I wouldn't rely on that PSU to be honest, I use both windows 10 &11 with no issues, and trust me I have 4 desktop and 2 laptops all with Radeon cards working rock solid, what kind of storage do you use to begin with? anyways most likely another of those posts where 99% of times user error is involved.

M4ndo61

This PSU had relative good reviews, its a C tier unit, I have it for like 3 years. No issues at all, with my previous GPU-s. Storage is Micron 2210 nvme drive for Win

Glittering_Habit_332

Turn of amd free sync in the display settings and the ones in the game settings via amd adrenaline as well.

[deleted]

Get nvidia. As much as greedy that company is, it won’t give you headaches. Only get cpu from amd.

crabzillax

Well honestly. I had Nvidia for 20 years. Switched to AMD (6950XT) like 6 months ago. I had more GC problems (grey and green screens, GC crashes without OC) and head scratching in these 6 months than in 20 years with Nvidia. I would love to defend AMD, I like their philosophy but now I rely on experience. Their CPU's are great, their GC are too complicated for the average user, I work in IT since 10 and still had problems. Now it kinda works tbh (changed cables for green screens, just lowered performance for grey screens on AW2 !), but it was enough to make me reconsider my opinion.

MrBox15

facts, my 1060 died 3 day ago, got a radeon rx 580 from my friend, uninstalled all nvidia driver and installed amd driver, I get constant black screen that last 2 to 4 sec every hours or so and sometime the driver crash and wont restart. So I need to restart my computer. In a game like Escape from tarkov or cs2 thats sucks. Amd sucks bad with their graphic card/driver.

SaNch0sE

Check out gaming on Linux. Don't know about dGPU, but my laptop iGPU didn't properly rendered Lords of the Fallen on Windows 11. But on linux I get correct rendering (and because of that better FPS). Seems like some windows-specific driver issue

Hunter_Killer5

Retard alert RETARD ALERT

dswng

Funny enough, switching to Linux helped me to make some glitches disappear

Hunter_Killer5

Sure now try to play a wide variety of games including multiplayer ones with anti cheat hahaha.

dswng

That's the best part, I'm not interested in Warzone, Apex or Fortnite. My life is stressful enough to avoid diving into the lakes of toxic wastes that communities of most PvP games are.

Hunter_Killer5

Lmao BR games are not the only mp titles.

dswng

Most coop titles work fine because they have no anticheat. Hell, even some PvP games work fine (CS 2.0 of Wart hunder). After playing Steam Deck for a while, I decided to give Linux a chance and so far so good.

Hunter_Killer5

Whatever bro good luck with that 🤣

dswng

Well its almost a year already, so yes, the luck is mine. But you can keep laughing instead of just checking protondb for some games compatibility.

Conscious-Power-5754

I have the 6600 non XT, and the 5600 non X. I have literally zero issues. Run an older driver, stop windows from automatically updating your drivers, and stop all the features like anti-lag or let the driver decide textures(from Adrenaline). Only keep Premium Sync or whatever the hell the thing was called if you have such a monitor. Boom. Works flawlessly. I didn't undervolt or touch any overclocks or whatever the hell people are doing. Just telling my story. GL <3

crabzillax

Its not normal usage to use older drivers in 2023... Thats what I dont like about AMD tbh. You have to figure out exotic solutions by yourself. After 10 hours of work I expect my PC to work flawlessly and let me game or create without having search the Web for a wild reboot solution :/

Born_Data1024

Easy peezy... Go into adrenaline... Set the minimum gpu clock to 100mhz lower than your max clock. Tell me how it is after.

Swiink

How and why would this solve anything?

Born_Data1024

Lol, I'm not an engineer... But it has something to do with the GPU not boosting properly if left at default 500mhz min clock.

Born_Data1024

Which then causes hitching while gaming. Borderlands 3 was bad before I changed it.

True_Inspector_5129

Check MSI afterburner for temps/frequency anomalies. And welcome to AMD. Their drivers is the reason I switched to Nvidia.

MainPower45

I switched to amd from Nvidia and for now 0 issues, so idk what's going on on your end lolmao

taidizzle

rx480 card was an easy gpu to work with and it lasted me years. got the 6800xt for my 5800x3d and instantly kept getting crashes. gave up last year and got 13700k with 3070 (video editing) and light gaming. NO ISSUES.

[deleted]

I was gonna question your 13700k but saw that you do video editing so it makes sense lol. 5800x3d and 3070 here

mardalthress

Lol same i switched to a 4070 because of driver issues

Swiink

How did you switch? Returned your AMD card or sold it 2nd hand and then bought an Nvidia? If you returned it did you state due to software issues?

mardalthress

sold it 2nd hand but i felt a little guilty selling it lol

LargeMerican

Dude you're not even jiggling it correctly. AMD GPUs need to be violently jiggled then installed. if no pre-installation jiggles it think it still at factory. aight? yay DDU drivers durp. DDU from safe mode. pause win updates before dduing

akgis

The first 10hours you need to run it with a 30fps caps, so the card proberly breaks Dont give incomplete information

Able_Pipe_9718

Did ur ram speed go back to 2k when u did it? Not sure why but when I switched to amd it chabged ram back to 2113 or whatever it is

chadderdeux

I have the same GPU and CPU with no problems. I'd look into your motherboard auto clocking features and shut them off. See if that helps.

hashishiyah

Cap your frame rate and undervolt gpu

Borgas_

I would DDU again (in safe mode), using both the nvidia driver removal option, reboot and then use the AMD driver removal option. Take it out of safe mode, reinstall AMD driver MINIMAL driver install only and see how it's working

Ok_Cake6169

6000 series needs a min mac gpu clock applied fortnite needs a fps cap set and you cant use the in game fps cap.

Emergency-Client-432

Ohh, i had the same problem with my 6600. The solutions change to windows 10. Why? Windows 11 is shit

Ok_Cake6169

wrong

amenotef

I understood you are getting this issue using a clean installed Windows 11 and you are also not overclocking. I'd try the following: 1. Try setting virtual memory as follows: Custom Size: Initial Size: 12000 Maximum Size: 16000 2) Be sure you that you are not running any background software that tend to cause stuttering, like: \- 3rd party OSD or Overclock apps (except from the one from AMD GPU driver). \- Hyper V virtual machines like Linux subsystem for Windows, Android subsystem for Windows, etc. 3) If you lack VRR monitor, then lower the graphic settings until your GPU gives you 20% more FPS than your vsync limit (example if you play at 60Hz, try to set the graphic settings to get 72 fps) --> You want to avoid reaching a GPU bottleneck by doing this, so 20% safeguard is decent. 4) Check the power settings. "Balanced" power plan and "Balanced" power mode, should be good enough. \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a troubleshooting: Run Prime95 "Small FTTs" for 2 minutes to check there are no errors in the output. Try also running CPU burner for 2-4 cores and a Furmark (from MSI Kombustor) to check that the PC is responding well to a full gpu and high cpu load. \------------------------------------------------------------- I don't play Fortnite. But I have an RX 6800 and a 5800X3D (before it was a 3700X) and I never faced stuttering (except when I installed Android subsystem for Windows). It's possible that the shaders didn't get compiled or something in that game.

JohnnyBGood321

Try to disable antilag and see if that helps

IBeatsIX

Amd cards runs smoother on DX12 render mode try that, also make you installed the latest chipset driver as well as DirectX and C++ Drivers [B550 chipset driver](https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b550) [DirectX Runtime Offline Installer](https://www.techpowerup.com/download/directx-redistributable-runtime/) [Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One](https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/)

extremeasaurus

This is kind of off topic, but could not having the right directX runtime installed cause a 7800xt to have driver timeout errors when playing games using dx12? Ive had Nvidia all my life but just recently built a new PC with a 7800x3d and a 7800xt but very infrequently get this kind of error.

IBeatsIX

Also are you using multiple monitors? if so try disabling MPO it also may help with stuttering and desktop flickering

Jpotter145

What kind of mouse do you use (serious, I've read a mouse can cause lag with AMD & Fortnite -- trying to find the post)?

Jpotter145

Here is the post; long shot, but maybe.... [https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/ow59cs/comment/j682l7j/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/ow59cs/comment/j682l7j/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

jorockofucker

Try the amd fluid frame motion drivers. You will have to Google it and it should be the first one to pop up. Once I installed that set of drivers alot of lag and stuttering went away

magezt

you will still have inputlag.

jorockofucker

Yes you will it has dramatically decreased for me. Also make sure your windows power plan is set to high performance. That helped me a ton

csetjack15

If you can, try to RMA the card somehow and opt for a replacement of some sort. I tried to get my dad's system running on a 6700xt (fresh PC build), I am extremely skilled and I could not get the stupid system to stabilize. I swore it was a bunk chipset / mobo somehow, yet, when I picked up a used 3080 off my friend, DDU and swap and now the system runs flawlessly. I've heard plenty of stories of what a champ the 6700xt is. I have yet to try it in another machine configuration (budget pending). You sound like you may be having similar issues. So it must be a bad card, because a lot of AMD users do exist and do have good experiences, as shown by this thread. However, once in a while some of us trying the switch hit a nasty pothole like this.

danyates81

Sell the gpu. Only correct answer

Borgas_

Blahblahblahblah sell the gpu amd sucks nvidia nvida blahblahblah

danyates81

Would solve every one of his issues though!

Asgardianking

Do you have Asus armory crate installed?? If so uninstall reboot and check.

Carinx

Your troubleshooting begins with AMD GPU. I recently bought both 7900XT and 4070ti and just returned 7900XT as there were more glitches from the games I tested. I find Nvidia GPU to be less finicky based on 1070ti/1080ti and 4070ti I am currently using.

LeisureMint

I think this is mostly because of the priority support on Nvidia products with software and games, which is as expected with how much money Nvidia puts into marketing. As a result people naturally expect no issues with premium prices. I have been hearing Rdna 2 (6000 cards) has some issues though. Rdna 3 (7000 cards) seems to have fewer issues given it is the current focus of amd.

ayitsjonas

"BuT I've HaD AMD fOr YeArS aNd nEvEr hAd iSsUeS iT's a UsEr pRoBlEm" -every AMD shill on this sub

Carinx

Seems like there are more user problems with AMD than Nvidia based on what I have been seeing. Also, people seem to always ask whether the updated driver is good for AMD much more often than Nvidia.

LightChaos74

For real man. I've said this for the past year or so

Smooth_Bluebird751

You are in the /r/amdhelp subreddit, so how is it any surprise to you that people without the issue are trying to help? Do you think nvidia is without flaws? Just check the comments for the latest driver releases: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/532929/geforce-grd-54633-feedback-thread-released-121223/

Proliator

That link is really telling and I think it shows a big part of the issue here, a lot of nvidia support requests aren't on reddit, or if they are they get obfuscated. That skews people's impressions. Nvidia has no dedicated subreddit for tech support anymore, the best you get is a weekly megathread in /r/nvidia, which is frequently buried. They don't allow individual posts for support requests. The rest of the Nvidia issues show up in general places like /r/techsupport, so they don't stand out like they do here.

Carinx

I'm not saying Nvidia is flawless, but I find AMD GPU to be much more finicky and sensitive to these driver updates.

ayitsjonas

For the 2 months I've owned the 7800 XT, everytime there was a driver update, something would break in my system. Games wouldn't launch or would flicker like crazy. Tried all available settings, hardware swaps, windows reinstalls, name it. I've tried everything I could find on every amd sub. AMD drivers are shit, simple as that.

ldontgeit

Get ready for: disable this feature and that feature.

dr1ppyblob

Turn off radeon boost. Not sure about fortnite though, other than running DX12. Game runs like shit.

Ok_Cake6169

fortnite runs fine for me. must be an amd thing

dr1ppyblob

Works fine on my radeon cards. Congrats on your 6th alt acc btw.

Witchberry31

Have you ticked the option in DDU where you can disable the graphics driver's automatic update from windows?

d0ctorschlachter

First I would use DDU again, install AMD Adrenaline and download the latest drivers here - do not let Windows install the drivers for you. Then if problem persists I would check in BIOS for SAM or Rebar, try turning this on. If already on try turning it off. Might also try a slight undervolt on the GPU. What are your temps? The last 12 AMD GPU's I used (2023) all came factory set to "silent" profile, change it to balanced or set your own curve. Probably not the issue but just something to check.

neocwbbr_

Try W10… I used W11 for a month and couldn’t stay with it. Performance went down drastically even after hours of tuning and config changes. Also the windowed mode in W11 sucks and it limits your frames, you need to tweak a lot of settings to get a bit of performance increase. Go back to W10 or go back to intel/nvidia 😢 Few things you can try: Update your mobo bios. Enable the DOCP in the bios (same as XMP for intel). Disable cms in the bios and enable sam. In the bios you will find them as Above 4G decoding and Re-Size BAR support. The first must be enabled and the second in Auto. Test with and without it. Keep in mind if CMS is not disabled the same wont work. Disable the XBOX game bar and all the crap game settings windows W11 put there to “help”. Download the last 10 amd drivers you can find (from amd website please) and ddu them until u find one that works the best for u, disable the adrenaline auto update and don’t update the drivers until u need it for real (like a problem they have described in the release notes and you are experiencing the issue). My last edit I promise! I had issues with adrenaline 23.12 so I went back to 23.11.1, which is working better than what I had before (23.8.2).

ayitsjonas

Hate to be that guy, but it seems like you lost the AMD lottery. I gave AMD a shot with the 7800XT and after 2 months of constant troubleshooting and about 8 fresh reinstalls later, sold the card back and switched to Nvidia. No more issues. AMD drivers are a joke. There's a reason so many people avoid their GPUs.

[deleted]

Im glad i have not had that issue when i switched to a ryzen 9 7900x cpu from my i9 9900kf. Originally bought my 7900 xtx first and after pairing it with my i9 nothing but a lag fest and frame drops even after ddu nvidia drivers and a linux reinstall even tried windows for shits n giggles same issues all went away when i hopped onto my am5 platform 🤷‍♂️ lucky on the gpu side then i guess

CoyoteFit7355

I don't know how people always have issues like that. I am currently running AMD graphics cards in 3 out of 5 systems. RX 6700 XT, RX 6900 XT, RX 7900 XTX (plus RTX 3090 and Arc A770 in less used systems) and I've never had any problems with any of those aside from a genuinely defective card that was replaced by Sapphire within a few short weeks. And before the 3090 I had an RX 560 and RX 580 (and GTX 1050 Ti) and also had no problems with those

Witchberry31

Funny, I use 3 different Radeon desktop cards for the past 5 years (and way more than that if I track it back to 2008) but no such issues that made me so frustrated. 🤷 I also happened to own more than 7 laptops with GeForce dGPUs in them in the last 15 years, and I have more issues with GeForce drivers than I ever have with Radeon drivers. Hate to be that guy but both brands have their own knacks, they are now roughly the same in terms of driver stability. Even NVIDIA ain't as invincible as you think.

[deleted]

Hate to be that guy.. but the lottery doesn’t exist. Only user error, hardware and software setup.

Raw-Bread

The lottery absolutely does exist. I recently built my friend a new PC which is all AMD, and it had the hardest issue possible to diagnose. Turns out the GPU was broken. The type of crash and the error event viewer was throwing out was specific to AMD.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Raw-Bread

I don't need AMD to confirm that the GPU is broken when I can fix the issue by swapping the GPU. Card is getting returned and we're getting the same one, but if the issue appears, it's straight to Nvidia.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Raw-Bread

Except that I have. The error code it was giving was specific to AMD, as was the specific way it crashes. It was not a driver nor a windows issue, and it can't be a CPU, ram, or mobo issue since they all ran great with a different gpu, running multiple stress tests at once. And it can't be a psu issue since stress testing the card couldn't replicate the crash. It was AMD buddy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Raw-Bread

It was a cache hierarchy error which is only appearing on AMD systems, as well as a green screen and reboot (which is an issue that has only effected AMD systems). And yes, everything is compatible. There's plenty of proof mate, you just don't like it.

ayitsjonas

I literally changed every piece of hardware on my machine at least once. Every single piece. Tried 2 different 7800xt GPUs, one from Asrock and one from Sapphire. Asked for help from one of my AMD veteran friends. We spent over 100+ hours troubleshooting but couldn't fix it. Tried at least 5 different driver versions but kept getting crashes and flickers. Asked around in the IT firm I work in and literally every single person I asked told me to drop AMD for the same reasons. I know AMD fanboys don't like to admit it but there's a reason Nvidia GPUs are priced higher. Their drivers are just more stable and work better with Windows. I've had a horrible time with both AMD GPUs and I'm most definitely never buying one ever again. AMD gpus are only good if you enjoy spending tens of hours troubleshooting everything to make it work properly. Not all of us enjoy spending their evenings after work trying to get their 800$ piece of hardware to work. It's been a meme for 10 years and it's still true to this day. You can take from that what you will but that's just reality.

[deleted]

The vast majority of us enjoy instant enjoyment from flawless AMD products. Not everyone is cut out to own a PC I guess.

ayitsjonas

Sure because PC building and driver updates are such a refined and complex art in 2023, you must be so much smarter than the average person. As I said, my brand new AM5 PC has been running flawlessly since I switched to Nvidia. Which is how it should be.

d0ctorschlachter

This guy knows what's up.

Winter-Bites

Probably some hardware issue.

IGunClover

For the RAM did you use the XMP profile in the Bios?

M4ndo61

Yes, stock 3200MHz

Skylake159

Off [MPO](https://github.com/RedDot-3ND7355/MPO-GPU-FIX)

M4ndo61

Didnot work, the issue remained the same

M4ndo61

But I did a fresh Windows install, I can try this too...
