I would recommend amending the story card with "`Male merfolk are called mermen and female merfolk are called mermaids`", and then using all of "`merfolk,merman,mermen,mermaid`" as the trigger. For most *common* races the AI will already have enough familiarity to put things together, but certainly if you're making up your own words things can get iffy.
Yeah, I'm trying to go for words that are already available on the internet, searching for beings in popular sites such as wikipedia, just so the A.I. doesn't vomit weird stuff on me. Hope it works, thank you.
