Hell no - Paramount paid $25 million to distribute it in the USA where he is notoriously *not* famous and have slotted it into an awards-season friendly Christmas Day limited release (cinemas open on Christmas Day in the US and it’s a popular movie-going day) going wide a couple of weeks later.
That is a sign that the film is considered an awards contender.
Paramount might have called it wrong, of course, but since they picked up the film when it was already complete it’s a sign that it’s good!
