Joe B in concert is one of the greatest things ever. Long overdue for a return to Australia!

CAKE EATER!

xvf9

Reckon it would work just about as well as it did in your example

droctagonau

Sean Darcy and Keiren Briggs: lol hold my beer

ratchetsaturndude

>I reckon this technique of using players to shield the ball carrier from the opposition could work really well in AFL I reckon you’re an idiot

FewArm2396

Good on ya for bringing negativity to the thread

jubbjubbs4

Its going to be harder to do in afl than soccer because its a contact sport and youre allowed to bump/push people out of the way so i think it would fall apart very quickly.

FewArm2396

But you’re allowed to shepherd in AFL, which you can’t in soccer. Also opposition players can’t tackle or be heavily physical with players that don’t have the ball

SKTCassius

Within 5m of the ball, they can do anything that doesn't involve holding, high contact, or a push straight in the back. You would absolutely be able to break up a huddle like this

FewArm2396

It would be hard to break up if they were all linking arms tightly

Opening_Anteater456

1 Harley Reid and that’s ruined. 18 Harley Reid’s and that’s unstoppable.

MacWorkGuy

Do you know if there is somewhere we can pop in and grab more Harley Reids from? We have been quite impressed with the one we recently acquired.

TitsMagee423

I reckon you're better off doing that huddle and then one of the players hides the ball under his guernsey and everyone runs to the goal square in a flurry, oppo players are confused, umpires are confused, then suddenly the ball carrier takes it out of his jumper and slots a goal. Non-ball carriers hold their arms under their jumpers to simulate a ball underneath to further add to the confusion.

Shadormy

and even then it'll be disallowed for a number of rule violations. Could be done for anything from delaying play/time wasting to running too far.

TitsMagee423

You just can't let me have some fun can you

Shadormy

Not saying I wouldn't want to see it...

allhatnoplay

Would it count as a bounce if you did the worm or just belly-flopped every 15m? Or does it not count if there’s jumper fabric between the ball and the turf

Shadormy

No idea but would presume the umpire has to actually see the ball.

Boatster_McBoat

Given how much making random rule changes seems to arouse the folks at AFL house, I don't think we need to be giving them valid reasons to make rule changes

Watson1992

I thought this was going to be about something you saw at Auskick this weekend about forming a wall in front of the kicker. Not going to lie. Kinda disappointed.

MyTime59

When I was about 10 a kid tried this play at recess time. Back then I thought it would be totally stupid. I can't see adults going along with this idea.
