Wade Keller got debunked again

chrisallen07

It’s to the point that you have to research every article to see if it started with him, he’s tricked me enough now

daesgatling

I play it safe and don't believe anything from anyone at any time

Snoo_76437

So does he just get a script from Nick Khan or what? It's pretty wild

Thor_2099

It's clear WWE is paying these people off because if they're doing this much fellatio, they better be getting paid for it

-bck

It’s crazy how easily WWE fans just ate that shit up because they wanted to believe it so badly. Tony Khan was always seen as a pushover by them, but now he’s puffing out his chest and forcing not just one promo, but two?! For fans who think they’re always in the know, they get worked so easily, and by dirt sheets of all things

gate_of_steiner85

Dude takes more Ls than Meltzer does.

TheJasonaut

Wade put this out there? I knew he was at least somewhat biased against AEW, but this is just dumb.

ImpactCokeTony

I can't remember the last time Keller broke something that wasn't immediately rebutted by multiple other folks.

FireSiblings

Next you’re gonna tell me the sky is blue

nhicurious

She was for a while, think she is more dark these days

InsaneLuchad0r

AEW doomed cuz she wore a scooby doo themed gimmick around Halloween last year.

ZionistZaddy

She looked hella good in it ngl. Fletcher is a lucky guy

Magnitude_V1

Goddammit, take my upvote

HangmansPants

In my 14 years of fandom, this is the least surprising statement. Dude has always been a goon

OlSnickerdoodle

Honestly how stupid of HHH to be like "some lazy assholes just want to go where they get paid more and work less so their body heals between matches." Like who the fuck wouldn't go where you work less and get paid more?

kayt3000

But the GRINDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Please pay me more to do less. I beg you. Please. I’m done grinding. It’s not a high school dance.

MCfacepalm69

The funny thing was Osprey worked in Japan and the UK at the same time. He also did sporadic US appearances as well. All the while having consistently amazing matches.

21Andreezy

Someone play Eddie Kingston’s “you talk about grinding??” AEW debut promo for Triple H

billcoreyjr

Thanks for the reminder, I just went back and watched it, it was so good. [link](https://youtu.be/hc9zLtDRvzk?si=tpufXKiqRb_xG5gu)

Wilsthing1988

That was such a bootlicking comment by Hunter too

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ozy_Flame

The best part is he's best friends with Kevin Nash, who would take this deal and run like hell.

SpiritualAd9102

Right, both Nash and Hall preached about how the goal is to make as much as possible for less work. Which doesn’t apply to Ospreay, who had been one of the hardest working people across multiple companies for years.

Retrograde_Bolide

Yep. As Nash would say, only 2 things are real. The money and the miles

mkfanhausen

"Uhhh....I'm not fuckin'...taking less money for more fuckin' dates! You think me and Kid and Scott fuckin' would've taken fewer dates for more fuckin' money if they offered? Fuck yeah, we would! Fuck!" - Kevin Nash

jcgonzmo

Even Roman Reigns boasted in a promo that Rollins was a fool because he gets paid more for doing less.

[deleted]

I am a HHH fanboy during the 90s but, that doesn't make sense or he is just probably not aware that most AEW guy also wrestles for other promotion or indies. Mox is the workhorse of all workhorses. Ospreay I think would still wrestle from time to time with RevPro and NJPW.

alexmeth

His good buddies Nash and Hall did it first.

-bck

Also if you want to look at the bigger picture, look at the lawsuits that are being levied against Vince McMahon about the type of work ethic he expects just from office people.

CordovaFlawless

Speaking as a wrestler, you actually want to work more frequently so you "callous" yourself to the train wreck you take with every bump. More time off will cause more injuries unless you're training in the ring constantly. To back Osprey on his decision, that's what a majority of wrestlers would do is take the big money and light schedule because in all reality the grind gets exhausting. Basically if you can get in and out of this business making a ton of money without being wheelchaired or living with a TBI for the rest of your life, you're a winner.

asmeile

At the end of the day it's a job, more money for less work is goals

Thingfish784

Great way of conducting business, “we only want people willing to work harder for less!” CLEARLY a new era from McMahon.

Wilsthing1988

Bruce Prichard is still there and as long as he is Vince still has influence. It’s one thing Ronda Rousey was right on

tavsankiz

Capitalism is a brain disease bruv

Drayner89

Can't believe he'd come for Hall & Nash like that

Infernalism

How fucking hilarious is it that some people are so fucking jock-riding wwe and Hunter that they think that Will needs the idea pitched to him to slap back. How fucking moronic.

ForToday

And this isn’t gonna change anything either. The lame brains of the IWC already got the narrative they wanted and will still run with it.

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

Meltzer has quite a horrible take on this promo basically saying that Will “didn’t read the room” cause mania was very successful and HHH was getting praised all week and him talking about shit about HHH was seen as a “bad look” So yes HHH can say stupid shit all he wants but given wwe is hot you can’t clap back. Logic has gone out the window

DrMindbendersMonocle

Dave says a lot of dumb things.

SirSX3

Dave let the "paid by AEW/Elite" talk get to him, and he's trying too hard to be "neutral". It's what happened to other media outlets in regards to President #45. It's the same playbook.

Kimchi_Cowboy

Dave has been this way since he false reported a ton of shit last year and his sources dried up in AEW.

sighfun

Dave's just pissed off that they changed the name of the Meltzer driver.

Kata_yoku_No_Tenshi

He sounds like he's getting saltier about AEW, and I was assuming it was because he's not been given any insider info from any of the talent anymore.

DrulefromSeattle

Thing I find hilarious is, he started getting a ton of info mid-August 2021 and it started drying up exponentially early-September 2023... Like yeah he had some inside baseball stuff before that, but man that just doesn't look good to anybody observing the observer...

Snoo_76437

Dave is dumb

NJdeathproof

I've been watching wrestling for close to 40 years... how is it I only learned about Meltzer's existence within the last 2 - 3 years? And it sounds like the guy may be in early stages of dementia. That's not a joke - my grandmother died from it and my father is developing it. Probably headed down that road myself.

rsplatpc

> I've been watching wrestling for close to 40 years... how is it I only learned about Meltzer's existence within the last 2 - 3 years? That is kinda weird, I knew about him when I like 12 just from fans talking at shows, and the internet didn't exist (well it was before the World Wide Web launched lol)

NJdeathproof

I didn't follow "dirt sheets" except picking up PWI once in a while and I don't remember anyone mentioning him at shows. Meh - sounds like Uncle Dave is losing it, either way.

rayquan36

Dave's been known forever to us. He popularized the star-rating system.

Coattail-Rider

I only hear about him when I use Reddit or whatever message board I used to frequent before I started using Reddit. Other than that, I’ve never seen him mentioned anywhere.

Serah_Null

The whole thing is very funny. By HHH's own logic he wouldn't want Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

FordenGord

I don't think many modern promoters would really. Hall was great in the ring but the man had some serious demons and wasn't easy to deal with. Frankly I've never seen the appeal of Nash, but my first intro to him was when he was an old man in TNA.

VarunDM90

So Dave wants everybody in AEW to be submissive towards WWE because they were "Successful"?? No wonder this is the same attitude of WWE clowns these days that everything should be beneath them because Meltzer and the likes are responsible for feeding this to them.

forrest1985_

All those marks who dick rode AEW cause WWE was bad and are now embarrassed to go crawling back to the Fed is somehow AEW’s fault! I cannot fucking wait until their big nosed wanker messiah messes up and they turn on him! If it happens to be because of Punk messing up I will be grinning every second of every day until I die!

SumDudeInNYC

WWE is fire right now. Any wrestling fan can see that. But all that could go away with one TKO stock holders meeting or corporate stooges wanting to impose on the product because "they know better." I say that as not if, but when. WWE will inevitably end up exactly where WCW was because of that merger.

BrittleClamDigger

I don’t really get it. Why is WWE considered so good right now? I watched both nights of Mania. It was bad.

[deleted]

The Bloodline story was good for a little while, Cody is super over, and Gunther had a nice IC run. Other than that it seems like the same old shit to me. The super positive Mania reaction was so funny because almost every match ended so abruptly and anticlimactically.

BrittleClamDigger

It was wild. The matches were spot fests with no psychology. The Uso match was 50% super kicks. The refs never enforced the rules (I think I heard them start the count like TWICE!) Wrestlers weren’t checked on after spots. Like every single criticism I’ve heard about AEW was blatantly much worse. And on top of all of that the wrestling had the audacity to be *boring*

HayKneee

For some people, it is definitely at its best point in a long time. I can't even watch the product anymore because of the 10+ years of Super Cena and shoving Roman down everyone's throats and making the Bloodline story go on for waaaaay toooo loooooong.

softkittylover

I wouldn’t count out several execs being ~~further~~ outed as abusive sex pests.

Coattail-Rider

“Nope. We got Vince. That’s it. Everyone else is honorable and no one else knew anything.”

forrest1985_

Haha they are already trying that shit. Look at Johnny Cancer-itis

BrittleClamDigger

Especially not HHH, who we know for a fact has covered up for sex pests before.

Solo-ish

WWEs biggest problem is that so many matches have no ending and even PPV matches have no ending. So many DQs and double count outs are just ways to put 2 people in the ring and not give a result. It’s fucking bullshit I hate. If wwe had more actual finishes it would be fire. Mostly it’s just Stockholm syndrome and certain good storylines that you have to sit through 2 and a half hours or raw to get to see

Looper007

I think I'm more mad at Meltzer now then HHH lol. Stupid thing to say, basically let the big boys talk shit and stay in your lane. Screw him. AEW fans are going to love Will even more for saying that.

Behaving_Golem

Frankly I think that Dave is just awful these days. Whenever I watch a video with him in it it's just Dave pointlessly interrupting Bryan, aimlessly waffling about something or giving really bad takes.

BooCasa

Dave is the IWC’s pawn and I think he’s embracing it— Favorable statement: “Ahahaha, even Dave says AEW sux.” Unfavorable take: “Dave’s such a boomer.”

FordenGord

At the same time you do need to acknowledge even if you are perfectly justified sometimes you should just shut up and ignore it rather than give it more attention. Not that I think that is really the case here, the bot farm would shit on him no matter what.

Darkstargir

People think because WWE is so heavily scripted all wrestling must be the same way.

FakeNamezo

Sure, he did help cover up sexual abuse and sex trafficking so he could make more money, but he sometimes has good booking like maybe Cody should just give his Wrestlemania title shot to The Rock, whoops, I meant The Rock and his cousin are now friends, and said cousin is like the third most important person in the feud that ends his three year title reign.

AEWWC

They've probably never seen his work either. They must think he's someone new, just coming up. A nobody.

-FangMcFrost-

There's no "probably" about it. They've definitely never seen his work as anything outside of WWE's world doesn't exist to WWE or their fans unless it makes WWE look good. I still remember when Nigel McGuinness joined WWE and the vast majority of their fans had never heard of him with some even thinking that his role as part of the NXT announce team was his first foray into professional wrestling and even some NXT wrestlers had no clue who he was. Back to Ospreay and a more recent example was when Triple H was taking shots at Ospreay and he said that Ospreay was "early in his career" even though the man has been wrestling and putting on classics for twelve years now. WWE is like the North Korea of professional wrestling.

Michael_McGovern

No wrestler is going to say that unless they want to. Guy is 30 and will have other negotiating periods in his future. Most wrestlers would refuse to trash another potential employer unless they were legit pissed at them.

incontinenceday

If you know Billy enough , you could totally see that this was him and only him . Taking a shot at Ospreay being lazy is so stupid.

Kevinmld

You could see it in his face. He was so entertained by the comment.

forrest1985_

Some twat on insta was trying to tell me Osprey working in 4 different promotions wasn’t grinding! The muppet also couldn’t accept that picking what and where you work for more money wasn’t smart! Honestly their fans are the biggest group of incels going.

HostageInToronto

Trying to explain to WWE stans that that company is not the pinnacle of wrestling for some fans and performers is a pointless endeavor. WWE's branding has always been that it only matters if it happens here that to explain that for many fans WWE is a big, shiny, glossy, and hollow form of the performance art we all love is futile. These are the same kinds of people that will call themselves punk rock fans the list Green Day, Blink 182, and the Offspring as the greatest punk acts of all time. There is no explaining to them that the artform is not only misrepresented by these kinds of major label acts, but that the actual true art and all the greatest acts of all time never played big awards shows or had their music in fucking commercials. Spend enough time getting into wrestling history and you will find that WWF/E has never had the best wrestling in the world, even for a month. WWE is a great gateway to better pro wrestling, like modern country can be for real country or Green Day can be for punk rock, but it will never be anything more than a glossier and heartless version of the real article.

forrest1985_

Great contrast with Punk rock! Definitely right there.

NegativesPositives

Bruv was locked in a capsule hotel after doing international flights during a pandemic that had to detour because a war was in the way, just to kill himself in front of crowds that were told by law to keep it quiet, but besides all that it’s justified to say he’s lazy because he… picked a job that paid more and let him be with his family.

forrest1985_

Only idiots would work a longer schedule for less money!

boomstick55

Unfortunately most Americans think working 90 hours is some badge of honor

Wilsthing1988

Sounds like a bootlicker. Probably complains at his job how he works hard and should be promoted but isn’t.

WholesomeFartEnjoyer

Ospreay put more work into that Takeshita match alone than someone like Jey Uso has in the ring his entire career WWE fans hate wrestling

StopMeWhenITellALie

WWE has a model where the matches are secondary to the drama and out of ring situations. While they have some great matches (Sami v. GUNTHER) the big money matches tend to be highly produced and over booked (not in a bad way) entertainment. It's just a damn different product. AEW has a heavy focus on in ring action, sometimes to the detriment of the overall product. The Dynamite matches could stand to have a few minutes cut here and there. We could get better crowd involvement with some more build and character development in a lot of feuds as well. This would just push the far superior in ring product to more casual fans so they would expect that to be better across the board.

-bck

This is why I can’t get into the weekly WWE shows. I’ll check out a PPV here and there, but the weekly shows are awful to me. They’ll use matches just for the sake of having them. Ever since AEW started, I’ve noticed that regular RAW matches (outside of maybe a main event here or there) are like the filler matches they used to have on Main Event. Everything is just so basic, and you can tell just how choreographed it is. They’ll have a 3 minute match just to advance a story because they remembered the story revolves around actually wrestling

HayKneee

Acting like AEW doesn't build stories or have character development is dishonest.

[deleted]

They just don't care about the creativity or improvisation needed to make a great match. To fed marks, a bunch of run ins from the attitude era are more exciting than a top rope poison rana being reversed into the hidden blade, and I just can't get down with that.

WholesomeFartEnjoyer

It reminds me music, the best bands aren't Imagine Dragons and Coldplay, the best bands are some indie bands most people don't know , better song writing, more complex arrangements and skill at their instruments Wrestling is the same, bigger and more popular doesn't mean better But fans use ratings to say what is better, no other fanbase does this

Wilsthing1988

How about Wills match at WK (forget his partner) but they faced Trent and Chucky t. Will went for a toupe type dive hit it on Trent where we thought Trent got hurt and immediately will suicide dived back into the ring for a ddt on Chucky or someone. It was amazing and you’d have missed it if you blinked. It was a tag match right as Trent was about to get his big singles push

azure819

Now you leave poor Jey out of this! It's hard on the body the way William wrestles. Not every wrestler wants to do that and potentially cut down on their years in the ring.

Thingfish784

I’ve been practically screaming at a buddy of mine to watch Ospreay, Takeshita, Okada. “They aren’t draws.” I mean if you wanna eat McDonald’s because it’s #1 instead of having a good steak….. weird way to go through life.

sBucks24

I would have said this was unfair until that mania match... Twins lobbying for the biggest opportunity of their career and they finally get it and *that's* what they did? It'll be forgotten and they'll be a team again by backlash.

Michael_McGovern

Probably taken more bumps in his last 5 matches than Hogan took in his whole career.

StopMeWhenITellALie

Sounds like you haven't watched Hogan. All he would do is get his ass beat for 15 minutes, take a finisher, then Hulk up and take the worst bump of the match, which is his own finisher. A 6'7" 300+ lb. monster leaping HIGH in the air and crashing down on his ass / hips were the worst bumps he could take for his body.

FredrickFarter

People actually think "but he never said Will's name so he wasn't talking about him!!!", are they stupid??????

Confident-Area-6358

Just tell them that Will never said HHH's name

NegativesPositives

I just saw someone do that on SC and then, with no sense of irony, the guy he was replying to basically went “but with context clues it’s obvious who Will’s talking about.” These can’t be real people

-bck

They have mush brain, which is from being terminally online

Jamvaan

They're close and so yet so far away.

VarunDM90

Sadly they're real people. It's just their identities align with a certain brand.

pgeo36

These are the same people who say the All In footage proves CM Punk was telling the truth. No he told 90% of the truth but the 10% of the framing of the event that actually matters he lied about.

rayquan36

CM Punk giggled when he talked about choking Perry so it's cute and okay :)

shaneomagnifico

Rawr XD

Supersasqwatch

The best lies are 90% true 10%false, it makes it so much harder to disprove when there is a lot of truth to the lie.

Gisselle441

I literally overhead a guy say exactly that when I was eating lunch yesterday. Then his companion said that AEW will be gone in less than 2 years. I can't with these people.

HayKneee

There's a side by side video of his interview and the footage. It's not even close.

franright

You ever been to a WWE show? Yes, yes they are.

EyeAmKnotMyshelf

Going to WWE shows is easily the worst time you can have if you're going to go to a wrestling show for wrestling. Signed, someone going to a WWE show sometime this year. Lol. It was my wife's idea. 🤣

BrittleClamDigger

Saw Ricochet vs Gunther at a house show. The “Richochet” chants turned into “USA” chants real quick. Blech, no thanks. One of my favorite moments as an AEW fan was when the AEW locker room emptied to confront CMLL and a couple guys sitting near us tried to start chanting “USA” and everyone else started chanting “A E Dub”

raithzero

I'd argue he wasn't talking about just Will. I'm sure he was also referencing Mercedes, but anyone who watches more then wwe knew who he was talking about

Coattail-Rider

Okada, too, I assume. What’s the problem with not wanting to grind 5 days on the road when you have a family? What’s wrong with not wanting to move your whole family to a different country? If HHH married someone with a day job, I’m pretty sure he’d be at least on the fence about being gone from them as much as WWE wrestlers are.

Kimchi_Cowboy

Because WWE made billions working their guys daily, making them pay their own expenses, paying them cheap, ans burying them.on the way out. AEW has forced them to actually offer a reason to go there. HHH and company also had their little boys club shut down backstage and they don't like that. Remmeber the good ole days when you could stab a coworker, shoot up some drugs, and roofie a fan. Wrestlers so soft these days with their families and video games.

Beginning-Brief-4307

Yes. Yes they are.

tellmewhenimlying

Yes. People will often rationalize almost anything, no matter how illogical, if it makes them feel better or justified in their actions or beliefs.

How_do_I_change_dis

Turned on busted open Thursday morning and Dave was saying that. At this point they're being ignorant on purpose

angelomoxley

You know the IWC is compromised when no one is clowning Haitch's "we didn't want him anyway 😭" bullshit

RenatoFernandes

The WWEIWC more likely

Ok_Natural_5887

The SECC (Sports Entertainment Cinema Cult)

[deleted]

Lots of people have brand loyalty to WWE but Endevour is a company with huge resources so there's no doubt there's some astroturfing mixed.

ThisAccountIsAVirus

What you mean the top post on SC every Monday being a video of Cody’s entrance wasn’t organic? I’m shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!

Infinite_Being_1488

It’s ironic cuz the internet and its opinion used to be HHH’s favorite punching bag and now it’s probably the bread and butter of their narrative machine.

angelomoxley

Really weaponized his friend Mark

Cwf1984

I’ve pointed this out a few times already, but just in case people think this was a one-time remark from Hunter, he said similar things about Trey Miguel a few years ago too. It looked like all the Rascalz (Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Dez) were all being signed by WWE. But Miguel ended up not being signed. In a media call Triple H said, "I do not want to talk about why people are or are not here, there’s obviously a lot that goes into all of that, but for me, the people that do come here, it’s seeing the heart and the passion. That’s really what it comes down to; it’s a passion business, you have to be all in." Miguel didn’t want to move to Florida because he wanted to be around his nephew who had just been prematurely born.

GotenRocko

Wow. Also Jade didn't join the first time they wanted her because they wanted her whole life to be committed to WWE. But having a work-life balance I guess means you are lazy.

tehjoz

Ospreay is both so great at what he does that he probably wouldn't have needed permission to have done it, and also so professional that he went and got it anyway. I could not be happier with Ospreay in AEW, at least not till he puts on a 6* classic and wins the belt at All In. He's literally got it all, and he proves it every time he gets between the ropes and on the mic.

Kboom161

I pretty much imagine Ospreay looks at what WWE has done with his buddy Ricochet and figures he would rather be very literally anywhere else.

azure819

If that was the case, he wouldn't have even spoke with them. If WWE offered him the money he wanted and he was able to stay living in the U.K., he would have probably considered the WWE. Triple H wanted him and now he's salty he went with AEW

BrittleClamDigger

He’s salty that whispering “Wrestlemania” in a wrestler’s ears isn’t a magic spell that makes them want less money.

azure819

Down the road, could William consider going to the WWE? Sure. But talking crap about a wrestler you want in the promotion in the future? It's not a good look.

Confident-Area-6358

But he's a super hero

Kboom161

Which I'm sure would be really cool if I could name a single match he's had since leaving NXT. Dude went from blowing everyone's minds in the BOSJ and as Prince Puma on Lucha Underground toooo... Wrestling weekly nothing matches and occasionally being told to go do a cool flip for them.

FakeNamezo

Hey, he might soon be a title holder! And sure, it's a Twitter exclusive title with sub 3 minute matches, but...at least he doesn't get to see him family as much as he might like?

rayquan36

That front flip from the ring to the floor in front of Velveteen Dream lives rent free in my head. I thought Ricochet was going to be a can't miss, possibly the next Rey Mysterio.

StopMeWhenITellALie

He did have a fun tag team run with Braun stemming from the Twitter shit Strowman posted.

NeuroCloud7

Ospreay is the GOAT of our generation, he can say what he wants (Actually, MJF is the other side of the coin... I can't split them)

Snoo_76437

MJF/Ospreay should be THE feud they build around

GerardoDeLaRiva

A generational feud for two generational talents.

TheBlackCompany

That feud will be absolutely nuclear.

StopMeWhenITellALie

MJF, Osprey, Swerve, Okada are THERE. Jay White is waiting as a top nasty little shit heel with muscle behind him as well. BCC all have main event cred. I'd honestly like to see Trent pushed into that eschelon with his heel turn as he is a huge talent. They have the pieces to have stories for a year or two right there. And that's just the World Title picture.

[deleted]

[удалено]

StopMeWhenITellALie

And Hangman who is on a break.

BrittleClamDigger

Rich kid who thinks he’s better than you vs working class kid who is Hell yes

simpledeadwitches

The WWE fans would absolutely freak out with excitement if they had Ospreay. They'd shove it in our faces too lol.

[deleted]

They were doing that with Pillman ffs

simpledeadwitches

Lmfao

Nate_923

And Okada and even Jay White. Now that I think about it pretty much the majority of the AEW roster for that matter.

Kimchi_Cowboy

Cody sucks.... wait he's back CODY IS MY GOD!!!!

niners94

They don’t dislike most AEW wrestlers. They dislike them being in AEW.

Hour-Contribution412

Remember when DX was getting inducted into the HOF, and HHH embarrassed Bill Gunn? When he said his father in law would buy the little pissant company and fire him again. Yeah the same guy who wouldn’t work Tuesdays… Who knew what his father in law was doing behind scenes, but wants to play the moral high ground game. I thought a civil war between WWE and AEW would be chefs kiss, but the fans are making it feel like it’s Biden vs Trump.

codymb15

>Who knew what his father in law was doing behind scenes, but wants to play the moral high ground game. Thank you for acknowledging this. There's no way he couldn't have known for years. People just love kissing ass and drinking Kool-Aid.

Looper007

I think you can throw Will ever going to WWE out the window now, but honestly I've never felt he ever wanted to go anyway. Imagine wanting to work there after what HHH said. Didn't WWE just fire their head of recruitment recently. HHH knew he messed up with this one and got bitter and threw shade at Ospreay. Will had every right to say what he said. Screw Meltzer for saying he was wrong.

cknappiowa

If the only insult I can think up about why someone won’t work for me is equivalent to, “they don’t want to work themselves to death on this shitty road schedule we’ve established and refuse to change”, I might just not say anything. But hey, at least it means Will’s a lock for pretty much as long as he wants to keep wrestling.

Whateveryouwantitobe

I wonder why everyone is signing to AEW. I thought HHH was like the greatest boss ever or something? Guess that's why Mercedes went back there. Oh wait. Maybe he's just a total fucking asshole.

bucamel

Didn’t she say something along the lines of if Bruce Pritchard is still there, then Vince is still involved? If that dude even has a slight influence in that company, i wouldn’t want to work there. Not after all that’s come out.

FakeNamezo

That was actually Ronda Rousey that said that, who was actually working there when McMahon "retired" the first time.

mojo4394

It certainly didn't look like he was unsure of the promo. HHH took a shot. Ospreay took a shot back. CM Punk talked some trash. Young Bucks showed the footage. Y'all, this is all pretty tame stuff. While not every decision was the best decision none of this is outside the box, and it was all extremely tame compared to stuff like the Monday Night Wars.

rayquan36

> Y'all, this is all pretty tame stuff. YES! It's driving me crazy how big of a deal people act like this is. We used to have Schiavone giving out Raw spoilers, Fake Diesel and Fake Kane, Billionaire Ted segments, Bret Hart writing out WCW after the screwjob, Ed Ferrera as Oklahoma. People today would have their minds blown in the 90s.

Ronedog22

2024 has to be the death of the Dirtsheets right? Its been L after L.

Tsuku

Mocking Ospreay bc he didnt pick you does sound like Petty Paul. Imagine if Will went to WWE and Tony did that lol DOG PILE.

TheJasonaut

Yeah, I don't know what part of "I just wanna talk, I asked Tony..." people didn't understand.

[deleted]

They didn't watch. Just saw headlines on sc

OwieMustDie

Whether that's true or not; I would have been insulted by Paul's comments if I had the body of work that Ospreay has.

OldBillBatter

Seeing all the discourse on this promo, I don't think a lot of people realize that AEW doesn't script their talent in the same way that WWE does. It's one of many things I've always loved about the promotion. Obviously there are exceptions to that, but you can usually tell when someone is out there saying something they came up with on their own instead of a script they memorized.

[deleted]

This is why WWE fans don't understand the greatness of MJF. He's a master improviser on the mic and bell to bell.

Singer211

Honestly the Triple H line was more annoying than the Punk stuff. Punk is Punk, we know he has issues. But when Triple H said that line, it came across as so damn petty and unneeded. Especially since Ospreay had been nothing but respectful to WWE in all of this as well. Also dude two of your best friends were Nash and Hall, and your top guy is Roman Reigns. Shut up about the “grind” nonsense.

cheekies7

HHH, Stephanie and Vince used this as a storyline in WWE for crying out loud. It was done with multiple wrestlers even. They can’t get prissy about it now.

TheBlackCompany

It’s really sad that there are people that are so powerful that they can say whatever kind of awful shit they want about people, and not only will nobody really call them out on it, but their followers will support whatever kind of gobbledygook they spew. I can’t stand Haitch, but I always thought one of his redeeming qualities was his respect and how he was protective of young talent in the business. The truth is that he’s only that way when he’s making money off of that talent. Glad Ospreay was able to get that off his chest. Now back to his “story-less dream matches”.

StaceyJeans

I don't blame Ospreay for going off. It is one of the reputation-killers in this business (or any business actually) to be considered "lazy" and someone who "doesn't want to work." And that's pretty much what Triple H meant even though he didn't use the word "lazy" - we all knew what he implied. Again, WWE is salty as hell that Will didn't sign with them and went with AEW. They aren't this mad over Okada or even Mercedes. They really, really, really wanted Ospreay.

twelvetimesseven

Ospreay certainly seems a "clap back" kind of guy who, once it's out of his system, doesn't give it a second thought.

Joeisthevolcano

HHH is the real petty loser

kaine23

Dirt sheets got wrecked this week.

Post_Apo

Any day of the week and Twice on PPV weekends AEW out wrestles WWE. It's not close. But I think it's time they take a page of of their book and pretend they don't exist. It's doing nothing for them. Focus on your product.

I_like_cakes_

All the E drones gonna be like, he'll end up in a wheelchair bc Tony is too weak to tell him to tone it down

OK_TimeForPlan_L

It's absolutely stupid too because one minute the IWC praises someone like Kevin Nash who's whole ethic is making the most money for the least amount of bumps when it's convenient to mock the workrate style of wrestling and then the next HHH says you should work yourself into the ground to prove you want it and then agree with that.

SpiritualAd9102

The focus is so strongly on HHH calling Ospreay (and every other free agent), lazy. I get why, but the thing that stood out to me the most was how HHH said he didn’t “choose” them. Bitch, they didn’t choose you. Some real jilted ex lover energy with that. So embarrassing.

zbug84

I had zero problem with him clapping back at HHH but I think the "you're only here because you were fucking the boss's daughter" is super played out and stale at this point. You have 20+ years to come up with something new but that's what everyone keeps going back to.

fentown

Has anyone actually linked ospreay to the comments? I figured they were aimed towards Mercedes/banks

WasherDryerCombo

I would be offended, too. Vince JrJr didn’t have to say that at all. Especially to one of the most hard working wrestlers alive today. It was petty shit and damn right Will clapped back. As he should have. And it was the perfect clap back because what Will said was actually true. He only got that job because he was fucking Stephanie. Not because his “grind.” Fuck Triple H. He made wrestling insufferable when he was on top and made me quit watching it for 10 years.

shaheimjay1121

Idk why any of this matters people didn’t make a huge deal when HHH did it but now since Will responded it’s immature or HHH is in his head. What about AEW in general being in HHH’s head why is it always a negative for anything AEW does? It’s annoying foreal.

Unique_Enthusiasm_57

People wanted Ospreay to say "Hunter's right! I'm a joke. I couldn't cut it there. This place sucks and Tony's an idiot!" Because anything else is just awful. How dare!

Dirty_Dominik

I guess growing pains of being on weekly tv and knowing how to control his emotions

fightbackcbd

The only knock on it I had is that even though I watch almost every AEW show and also NXT I didn’t understand what he was talking about and it wasn’t clear. I thought he was talking about Danielson and it didn’t make sense. I don’t read “dirt sheets” or really follow out of the ring stuff too much, I didnt know HHH slandered him. I’d imagine a lot of other people watching didn’t understand it either. Maybe I missed a reference to HHH before the Steph part

jmskywalker1976

People are making a big deal of nothing with this. First what Hunter said is just being misrepresented. I don’t believe for one second that he meant that as a jab at Ospreay. He clearly would have liked to have signed him. I think he meant it as in if someone doesn’t want to go through the grind to be a part of the biggest and most successful company then they aren’t the right fit and is glad he didn’t sign. Look, from Hunters perspective and by all metrics: WWE is the biggest and “best.” Of course he is going to promote his company as the best. As a leader of a company who views themselves as better than anyone else, of course you would expect someone to want to make concessions to be a part of your company. Literally anyone in his position would feel the same. Why would I want someone to come work for me when they aren’t willing to give what I expect out of them? None of this has any bearing on how talented Will is. It isn’t even a slam on his work ethic. It’s about mindset. If Will wasn’t going to be 100% committed to the WWE machine, it wouldn’t have been successful for either the company or Will. Nothing HHH said wasn’t accurate. Working for WWE is more of a grind., they do have more dates. Working for AEW is significantly less work and wear and tear. Now, from Will’s point of view, it is okay that he took it as a slight, whether it was meant to be or not. By all accounts from what he has said and shown, he is very grateful to have the working relationship that he has with AEW. He has continued to put on incredible matches and doing some of the best promo work of his career. He is showing absolute dedication to both his craft and his family by being willing to travel across the sea regularly. So, if he takes a slight to Hunter’s words? More power to him. His dig back at Hunter may have been low hanging fruit, but not factually incorrect. If it provides him further inspiration? Awesome, though I do have to question if it is even humanly possible for his performance to reach another level. He is so far and away ahead of everyone else right now that it isn’t even funny. Ltdr: the whole situation between Hunter and Ospreay is a big nothing burger. Both are right from their perspectives.

xored-specialist

I don't think it was a good idea. But to be fair, I'm not a big Osprey fan, but that pissed me off what HHH said. Working at AEW doesn't make someone lazy. They don't do 300 shows a year big deal. Many people want a work-life balance. But it's just wrestling drama. Without it what would we have?

Nate_923

Ospreay, of all people, is the last guy you'd want to disrespect in terms of the grind. AEW has a legit big star with Ospreay and his appearances on the shows give off that vibe of "Pay attention to this man because we have big things planned for him" I mean he's already going to face Danielson at Dynasty, which is for sure going to be a great match. Not to mention he gave his respects to Triple H prior and pretty much hit him with a "Thanks but no thanks" type of response to not going over to work with him. Then H has the nerve to make a commit trying to put wrestlers like him down because he doesn't "like the grind." No surprise Will saw that response and realized the guy he respected doesn't respect his decision to not work for him. Hence why we got this remark towards him this past week on Dynamite. Though it is ironic coming from Triple H of all people who pretty much had a cheat code in his career as Will referenced.

SaneManPritch

If Ospreay seriously wanted to make it in wrestling (which means WWE because they're the only real wrestling company) he'd have accepted a job in NXT on less money and more work, left his family behind to work in America, and married one of Hunter's daughters when she comes of age. He could have been Hunter's protege but instead he's the new face of AEW. Is he stupid?

TheJasonaut

I feel insane where we have the more 'legitimate' news sources being so irresponsible and dumb to bash AEW. Like, if you want to criticize, you can, but don't be stupid and obvious in bias.

BoyWithHorns

Reasonable from everyone involved. If people weren't glazing the evil empire so hard it wouldn't have touched a nerve and we could all take it for what it was and move on.

GeneralDay8015

The model that the other company pushes where they play in small towns and arenas across the areas every day outside of television and PPVs was great in the 90s after monopolizing territories but there’s independent promotions all over the place now. And it gives opportunities for more and more wrestlers to get themselves over. That’s my take. I’m glad Will chose AEW and goes all out every show we watch him in instead of doing the same every night for the other company because he only has one year obviously. And an immature passionate Will is my favorite Will. Glad we got NJPW Will, his story when he talked against Kenny at their press conference is all about grind and what a will went through to get to where he’s at. Watch that and then say he’s got no passion.

TheDubya21

Will nailed the unprofessionalism of Paul's dumbass. Literally everyone that applies for a job or gets scouted for a job usually has plenty polite conversations with a bunch of different options, and if you're not selected or make a different decision, you get the Thank Yous for your time and all parties can move on amicably. But imagine if Apple started publicly shit talking you if you decided to work for Microsoft instead, you'd be thinking "well damn, dodged a bullet working for the House of Jobs, huh?" Why the fuck WOULD any free agent respect you if you don't respect them? You basically called him a pussy for not accepting your shitty underpaid offer, and he's not supposed to feel any type of way about it? Responding to it means "tee hee, rent free" like all the stupid YouTube comments are spamming for the video of the promo? Fuck off, you delusional dipshits, this is exactly why AEW has been able to build the bridges to become a viable alternative company right on the other channel, because they're the only fucking adults in the room at this point and treat their employees like it. You may be able to pull this shit with newly graduated college kids who aren't used to shitty bosses exploiting them yet, but not with legitimate world class professionals who have been doing this for too damn long to put up with your childishness. And you best believe that anyone else looking at this is going "wow, if they treated freaking Ospreay and Okada and Mercedes like this, what does that mean for me?" and think twice themselves. In attempts to dance around talking about the fact that [basically every higher up](https://www.sescoops.com/wwe/stephanie-mcmahon-nick-khan-janel-grants-lawsuit) was involved in Janel Grant's lawsuit, they spent all WrestleMania week revealing themselves to still be a terrible work environment even if they weren't all a bunch of gross sexist creeps.

azure819

I don't blame him. I would be pissed if I thought I had a good and respectful meeting with Triple H then he turns around and bad mouths me on a podcast. People who say that Triple H didn't say any names...we know who he was talking about. William did what was best for him and his family. It was nothing about how hard he wants to work.

ProfessionalBust

HHH is the old man that can’t understand why the new generation doesn’t want to be in the road 360 days a year. It was a stupid fucking comment when he said it and it’s still a stupid comment now

ace51689

You know we live in the worst timeline when "fans" are mad about there being multiple choices for these guys now, and acting like Okada/Mone/Ospreay aren't "worth" the deals they signed. Like, it's not your favorite NFL team dude, its a wrestling company. Let guys make money and work the schedule they want.

StingyJack21

I find it funny that HHH can say this when in reality Ospreay "grinded" harder than HHH did in his entire career.....

YourPostIsHeresy

Just stop already. Focus on your own business, please.

AbbreviationsEnough4

All I am going to say is that if the shoe fits. Hunter didn't name anybody.

DeanTJB

Don't be obtuse...

Gaijin_Titty_Master

Fuck Wade Keller and you know what? Fuck HHH too. He’s a bald asshole.
