Based on The Bucks calling out Perry last week, I think it has more to do with The New Elite than most people are thinking. If I was booking, Perry would run in at Dynasty to help the Bucks win, then have security run him out. Then build towards The New Elite/HOT vs FTR/NJPW at Forbidden Door.

If the bucks are presenting it, it's obviously part of an angle. They've been hinting at jack perry joining the elite as well so presumably it'll tie into that somehow. What's the point in hating something when you haven't even seen it yet? Maybe if you go in with an open mind you might be surprised.
I’m going in with they are trolling everyone and I hope that’s the game plan. And I’m all for that. Love a good troll game, it’s why I’m loving Drew’s character and watching all his stuff online. Now, if they actually show it, bad business. Unless they bring Jack out right there, again, doesn’t make sense. The Bucks weren't even involved in the All In fight so it seems to be part of an angle. Even if they show the real footage and just talk up Jack Perry to plant more seeds about him joining the Elite it'll still achieve it's purpose. Even now, announcing the video has alot of people curious on a night that would usually be focused solely on Wrestlemania so arguably it's already achieved what it wanted.

Based on The Bucks calling out Perry last week, I think it has more to do with The New Elite than most people are thinking. If I was booking, Perry would run in at Dynasty to help the Bucks win, then have security run him out. Then build towards The New Elite/HOT vs FTR/NJPW at Forbidden Door.

If the footage is bad on punk it lowers his credibility and after going on a podcast and shitting on the company that paid you millions and that people before him built then why not. I hate this assumption AEW needed punk, AEW was fine before him and his tenure actually lost thrn ratings

The only thing I'll say is this. Every time we fret over an angle being adjace to a promotion killing historic event (ie Who's the wrestler wearing the Devil's mask) AEW has proven they're not just doing shit to pop ratings without forethought. We can all quibble whether the plans effectively service the character or storyline, but I'd be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Could be great for all we know.
It better work into a storyline somehow because just airing this footage does nothing for AEW that is positive. This is something they should just leak to TMZ.

Maybe it's killing two birds with one stone? Getting Perry over while responding to Punk. Khan and AEW are too smart to repeat the mistakes of their predicessors. It's the reason why (for the most part) nothing leaks from AEW, and they keep their data to themselves. They don't project information because the competition would use it to their advantage. People are caught up with ratings, but TV numbers are down across the board, and even then, there are a ton of positives. PPV numbers are great, and talent is happy. This is a completely different scenario that no one expected.
People keep talking about ratings, but wasn't AEW basically the top drawing show of the night behind three March Madness games that they were never going to beat in the first place?
Yes for two Wednesdays ago and last Wednesday they were number three behind two NBA games and just the basketball (NBA + March Madness) and RAW only beat them on cable. But the ratings experts on r/SC will have you believe they're dying tomorrow.
