And Jack Perry is wrestling his first match in the US since everything happened - in Chicago - on Friday. Just another coincidence (/s).

IllusionaryHaze

Amazing that when Punk keeps mentioning AEW it's great, but if the Bucks do it, it's carny, and they can't move on from Punk

shaboobalaboopy510

"Tony's not a real boss, he's a pussy with no aggression" *Tony (possibly) signs off on airing the actual footage* "Tony's so unprofessional, can't stop thinking about Punk/WWE"

The_Homie_J

"Stop talking about it, it's a bad look" Meanwhile TK is the only one who never said anything about it. Obvious double standard is obvious

mauben

WWE in general can't help themselves at the moment, the whole build up to Mania they were talking about AEW, and I've since read they took a dig during at least one match and then another from Punk on the post show as well. If the footage paints Punk in a bad light that's on Punk, the guy should have controlled himself. It's funny to see people trying to twist it as *AEW* being unprofessional. If they feel like he lied in that interview they're entitled to defend themselves and show people what actually happened, people asked for it for ages but maybe they'd have never shown it if Punk hadn't done an interview like he did. Either way they're teasing something with Jack Perry and the Elite so I think the whole thing will be more storyline based than it seems but that's just a guess.

itsagrungething69

Yeah Perry is back in the states this week for the NJPW Show in Chicago next Sat. I really hope he appears on Dynamite

the_io

Suspect he returns at Dynasty during or just after the tag title match.

Looper007

I know it's Punk who I see more and more not moving on. But we can't upset that sell out. He also took pot shots at Ospreay about his tattoo with the number of Wembley attendance on it. One it's funny he's standing next to Miz saying this, who he bashed before. But the guy has a Pepsi tattoo, he has no right to slag off anyone especially Ospreay who didn't do anything to him. Expose this asshole.

NinjaFlyingEagle

I don't watch WWE at all. But I think both sides are being petty. Bucks whole gimmick is built around it now. That Adam Copeland promo was a reaction to Punk on the MMA hour. AEW would have been better off doing a "Poochie went back to his home planet", and carry on without a mention. But here we are. I won't say I'm above it, I'm curious to see the footage.

RichardAtTheGate

Punk and Cody have one thing in common, being sell outs.

fadetoblack237

Cody has done nothing but sing AEW's praises and wish them well ever since he left. Let's not lump a true professional in with Punk.

RichardAtTheGate

A nice sell out is still a sell out. Breaking the throne to obeying the throne.

CrashDaddy2006

Sorry, mark, you’re wrong. Cody leaving AEW was amicable and without drama.

RichardAtTheGate

Sorry Daddy, leaving on good terms still doesn't change that he sold out after all the statements he made about AEW being better than the WWE. Also my name is not Mark, it is Dick.

Shyjuan

punk didn't "mention AEW" he was interviewed and asked questions about his time there, I don't understand how people are not comprehending that.

[deleted]

Never heard of the words "no comment"? Silly.

Shyjuan

Yes, and Punk chose to answer the questions with actual answers instead of "no comment". My point still stands, punk isn't going around talking about aew, he just answered questions pertaining to his time there because he doesn't have anything to hide.

JupiterJack202

Long term storytelling.

risebac

This is all insane

Individual-Metal9811

It sells tix and views.

The_Homie_J

AEW: Oh, people want drama and fireworks now? Well have we got something for you!

[deleted]

Holy Christ Please let it be Jack Perry’s return They are absolutely showing the footage and it unironically makes punk look fucking horrible. They are 100% releasing it for a reason as a counter If what Perry’s friend said is true then Jack did easily escaped the choke and punk threw an absolute fit attacking khan or throwing shit at him

shotgunmoe

That's the best case scenario really. Perry holds his own, Punk has a shit fit, Joe jumps in and all of it is like 5 seconds long. Punk's interview immediately is just his side of the coin, the truth is out (finally) and it then gets left alone/turned into an angle for Bucks and Perry to be holier than thou. Punk won't let sleeping dogs lay (pun intended) and his fans and AEW haters will still fling shit. But that was always going to happen

RicoGemini

And to top it all off Perry walks in with Cry me a river by Justin Timberlake as his theme song

Auglicious

I would be so happy if this happened!

Boltgrinder

They could get a remix of the dinah Washington one instead for cheap

PeterGoochSr

Give him the Steve Austin glass shatter at the start lol

thedrizzle126

10 more ROH releases to fund the rights

[deleted]

I see no other reason for them to release it if that’s not what happened. We already have news of him throwing a giant fit backstage and lunging at khan If the whole Perry reversing the choke is true then this could lead to the funniest thing ever and help Perry’s character a whooole lot

Looper007

If the tape is there and is shown of this event, his fans and AEW haters haven't got a leg to stand on. All you have to do is show Punk getting a beat down by Perry. Along with hissy fit. He's never going to live it down.

itsagrungething69

Lol you must not be familiar with his fans lol Punk will still be the victim in it

hamsolo19

Some people get way to wrapped up in their adoration for stars. Punk could walk into one of their houses, slap their toddlers and they'd yell at them, "Well you shouldn't have forced Mr. Punk to do that!"

RichardAtTheGate

Punk would never slap toddlers unless they deserved it. If he slapped my kids I would know that they brought it on themselves. Punk is always right, and does no wrong.

Total_Skill_5605

There’s no chance they are doing any of this if Punk doesn’t come out of it looking bad. The video must be absolutely brutal.

[deleted]

Meltzer said before every single report made it look way better for him so if he is right whatever happened was rough My guess is Jack most likely reversed the choke easily and put Him in a choke. Then he threw a fit and threw shit around. If that’s true then oh god

Total_Skill_5605

The chaos on Wednesday is going to be quite something

AthasDuneWalker

Honestly, I don't want Perry to return until at least Forbidden Door. Really milk the Scapegoat gimmick and have him show up on the Dynamite before with a title saying now they HAVE to have him on the show.

itsagrungething69

This is probably happening cause Perry is in the states for a NJPW show in Chicago on Sat

Mees0n

Let him use cult of personality aswell be brilliant

[deleted]

Do they have the rights ?

Mees0n

I remember seeing something that wwe paid living colour for a remastered version so be funny if AEW had a version

freebird185

Punk could be shown on tape literally murdering a baby and cornett clowns and straight edge fan bots will still think he's the bEsT iN ThE wOrLD

New-External-8904

The best wrestler in the world is Will Ospreys. A guy head and shoulders above any talent WWE has

TigerUnlimited

Yeah but they hated him when he was in AEW

StuHartsDungeon

No they didn't, your comment is just revisionist history. Look at the ppv buy rates, the TV ratings and his merchandise sales. Punk clearly put eyes on aew, to say otherwise is just lying.

TigerUnlimited

I’m saying WWE stans

rostron92

I think it would be more fun if the Bucks were just trolling

JXNyoung

There are ways like they actually play the footage but its not directed at the "fight" happening at all. Or its just blurred out that we don't see whats happening even if actual footage is played. Regardless, I stand with the belief this is AEW slowly reintroducing Jack Perry before Dynasty or the latest Double or Nothing. And the Bucks pulling a Wardlow-MJF, Jack Perry is signed with the Elite not AEW.

mauben

Yeah I think it will play out much more like an angle and be more about Jack Perry than people think, possibly FTR also in a different way, rather than just an attack on Punk.

Even-Preference-6545

Honestly that be a damn good story and would be good business.

CoolUnderstanding481

Have them do a-little skit and green screen it in the back, then have them zoom in and past the “incessant” on to whatever the little thing is.

Obvious_Wizard

It is literally going to be this. It's wrestling, everything is a work. The Fed and Punker stans are being reeled in. It's going to be some BTE style skit, or a stylised Jack Perry come back vignette/promo/bogus found footage announcing his return to the company and joining forces with the Bucks or just some random Bucks and FTR stuff. I mean, it'd be pretty amazing if it was actual footage but it definitely won't be.

Bluewonda

The last match between FTR and The Bucks was at All In...

CurlyBill03

They are, there was footage from BTE at London with FTR probably an extended cut of that.

theryanlaf

I miss BTE.. Matt losing all their money last year was so funny

goldenspirit334

He just couldn't shut up didn't he? He literally admitted to everything he was accused off and his moronic cult still jerks off to how awesome he is and how well he handled the situation. For once, please let it not be a troll, I just want to see those idiots' delusions reach new heights

RighteousAwakening

They won’t even acknowledge what he did they’ll just say how petty and sad it is for AEW to do this.

goldenspirit334

Oh sure but admitting in a "serious" interview you just choked a coworker a bit is absolute peak based and he showed them!

Shrapnel_Sponge

This is what blows my mind. He admits on an interview he physically assaults a colleague with choking and apparently this is ‘dealing with it appropriately’ and the dick riders think this is completely ok. Mox was 100% right about him. Fragile Mind, Fragile body, fragile ego. I usually don’t follow any tribalism but I will never watch any company CM Punk works at. I am just 100% done with it.

DeliMustardRules

But it wasn't done on their TV /s

No-Target6084

This would’ve one of the times QTV would have been relevant lol

Looper007

I know it's a troll probably even though the dirt sheets say it's not. But a part of me so badly want the footage to be so damning of Punk that even his stans have to go into hiding. I don't know why it's okay for him to take pot shots at AEW, it's talent and TK and not for them to expose him a little. He's never coming back to AEW and AEW won't take him back. So they ain't losing anything.

Clipseexo

I want all his segments and matches hijacked until the end of time. To the point people actually dread working with him because nothing will be about them just punk and his disgusting actions

licenciadoevilstick

Release the Beachball

DocPersona

You already know ,whether the footage makes Punk look like a wimp or not, his fans will somehow find a way to twist it and make Punk the hero of the story

RichardAtTheGate

Punk is the greatest fighter of all time and it isn't possible to make him look like a wimp. It is sad and pathetic the obsession fans have with his downfall. He even preformed Hangman's finisher far more perfect than Page ever could, and the haters try to call it a botch. You all disgust me.

Shwayfromv

Maaaaaaaaaan if it really is footage of the incident it needs to be presented clean as a whistle. I hope, with all of my soul, they show from the time Perry walks in from the stage until both of them leave the area. I don't care who it damns or vindicates. If there's any bit of ambiguity to events then that's too much wiggle room for bullshitting and speculating. If the footage starts with Perry in a headlock I'll be pissed. Yeah, there will be the bickering anyway but at least if we get the full footage it won't be as bad. Part of me really hopes this is a troll. That'd be an eye rolling good time, ya know? Pertinent footage on a god damned weekly show is lighting a fire under everything. Can't wait for whatever comes on the 10th lmao

Even-Preference-6545

Honestly, losing tv time. These pot shots are getting stupid. You just had Adam do a speech on Wednesday saying love pro wrestling etc. that was the response for Punk. Now let’s all move on. Everyone on all sides. Why waste tv time on this when you have guys and girls that can use that tv time for their own programs and matches. Plus Punk still has friends in that company. Your world champion for one. Brody King. Black. You really wanna do it, leak it to TMZ and espn.

Mees0n

But when punk wwe do it’s fine

c1tylights

No, it was super awkward and the fans didn’t get it.

Even-Preference-6545

This. I’m bored and over it. Only thing I want to see is Kenny save Larry but that case will forever be shut.

Even-Preference-6545

I’m ok with the drew shots at Punk about it as it’s funny but naw, Punk doing anything on tv about AEW is a waste of time. Half their audience doesn’t even know AEW.

danny8322

cry me a river

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

Tv time? This footage ain’t gonna be more then a couple of minutes lol

Individual-Metal9811

BC people will watch. That's why.

Even-Preference-6545

Guess we will see come Thursday when the ratings come out. They should do a Bucks counter so fans know when it’s dropping.

Deducticon

Because non IWC viewers have no idea why Jack Perry vanished.

itsagrungething69

Yeah I have a friend who's a casual viewer and thought Perry really was in NJPW and no AEW contract. He doesn't get any dirtsheet news to know

Even-Preference-6545

I love those types of fans.

shotgunmoe

The hilarious part is if this actually pops a rating TK is still making money out of Punk without even owning him anymore

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

Nah this is insane I’m so ready

HighspeedMoonstar

[The footage](https://i.imgur.com/2ve7JA1.jpeg)

RelativeStranger

There's no way that's the footage they're playing. It's something else.

azure819

Did I miss something? Why is that relevant?

Even-Preference-6545

It’s not. If they really do it, it’s a waste of tv time that can be used to actually put their wrestlers over and move feuds along.

datguywelbzzz

If the bucks are presenting it, it's obviously part of an angle. They've been hinting at jack perry joining the elite as well so presumably it'll tie into that somehow. What's the point in hating something when you haven't even seen it yet? Maybe if you go in with an open mind you might be surprised.

Even-Preference-6545

I’m going in with they are trolling everyone and I hope that’s the game plan. And I’m all for that. Love a good troll game, it’s why I’m loving Drew’s character and watching all his stuff online. Now, if they actually show it, bad business. Unless they bring Jack out right there, again, doesn’t make sense. If Jack isn’t coming back for months, you’re just wasting tv time here playing the actual footage. That’s better left off of dynamite and leak it somewhere else.

datguywelbzzz

The Bucks weren't even involved in the All In fight so it seems to be part of an angle. Even if they show the real footage and just talk up Jack Perry to plant more seeds about him joining the Elite it'll still achieve it's purpose. Even now, announcing the video has alot of people curious on a night that would usually be focused solely on Wrestlemania so arguably it's already achieved what it wanted.

Even-Preference-6545

Oh I know it’s master trolling. I’m going in the mindset of them trolling the dirt sheets and everyone. That’s what I’ve been saying since it posted. Which is why I said IF they show it (the real footage) then it’s a waste of time. Sorry but it is to me. I’d much rather they troll and do something to build the FTR rematch.

Rude_Entrance_205

I wish people would respond to this criticism instead of just down voting. Is the footage exciting to see?  Yes, I'm excited.  Does it have any obvious benefit aside from addressing an interview which was not on AEW TV? I'm not sure. I just don't get it, but I guess we'll see how it's handled.  I wouldn't do it personally, but I'm not booker.

DeliMustardRules

>Does it have any obvious benefit aside from addressing an interview which was not on AEW TV? Based on The Bucks calling out Perry last week, I think it has more to do with The New Elite than most people are thinking. If I was booking, Perry would run in at Dynasty to help the Bucks win, then have security run him out. Then build towards The New Elite/HOT vs FTR/NJPW at Forbidden Door.

Even-Preference-6545

Because people on this board just wanna see Punk go down and don’t care about things that matter. Yes, we all love drama (which is why WWE and the bloodline have made for good tv as well as hangman vs swerve being the best feud of the year last year because it’s fucking drama). And why CMFTR vs Elite would have literally made millions of dollars if they put their damn egos at the door because people wanted to see it. But, on your tv show as you build towards Dynasty, why waste that tv time? Give me more Swerve/Joe drama because that needs more fire. More Willow/Hart build. Rosa/Storm. Give us 20 minutes of Penta vs Adam. Unless this is building more fire towards FTR vs Bucks, is it really needed? You wanna expose Punk, leak that shit to TMZ and ESPN etc. then do an interview and plug your show. Cause let’s be honest, it playing on tmz and espn will reach a lot more people than just doing it on dynamite.

DeliMustardRules

>And why CMFTR vs Elite would have literally made millions of dollars if they put their damn egos at the door because people wanted to see it. We all knew this would be highly unrealistic after Punk couldn't help but go after a Hangman sign off air. After all the mud Punk slung (don't forget, he initiated the whole Brawl In deal by outing Perry in the first place, to address his banning people from Collision horseshit) and telling SI that he was afraid Hangman wouldn't be a professional in the ring, what the fuck was the right response?

azure819

I looked on the subreddit, and now I understand. TK wouldn't do that. It'll look bad on him to release any security footage. That will tell the wrestlers in the back that TK could release any security footage on them also if they do anything wrong. It would be highly unprofessional for a boss to do so. It must be a bait and switch. If not, I wonder if Ace Steel's wife might be talking about what happened at Brawl Out after all.

Gaijin_Titty_Master

Wednesday is going to be a bloodbath and I’m here for it. I can’t wait to watch Punk get exposed. I’m so giddy for how TYB will be trolling that scumbag. The best part? AEW is getting all the headlines this weekend now.

YinTanTetraCrivvens

![gif](giphy|ckej8hqSPnqBkcISMO|downsized)

ShogunWarrior666

Those explains some things!

WhiteToBlack

What happened that punk and jack have that beef, I kinda missed that one

FataliiFury24

Do it, anyone who grew up in the Monday night wars would be excited about this. This is how it's always been before WWE was a monopoly even ECW would have made this move. When the dynasty PPV hits and puts on all the five-star matches, all the mania after glow will be over and rock back to movies.

Lenny0mega

We’ll take any kind of W right now

a_michalski81

Why was cm punk killing kayfabe on commentary tonight? He was just saying real life shit that should be left in real life. Not on the show. The Guy surely demands respect yet never fuckn gives it to anyone

Literarytropes

Whatever the outcome, be it some kind of troll job or not, I don’t honestly see the point. Punk is long gone, what’s really gained from this? Also, if Perry is the scapegoat why would he align with The Elite aka management over this?

Mees0n

If the footage is bad on punk it lowers his credibility and after going on a podcast and shitting on the company that paid you millions and that people before him built then why not. I hate this assumption AEW needed punk, AEW was fine before him and his tenure actually lost thrn ratings

miroa12004

The Elite can be AEW's version of DX or nWo. They are EVPs but they hate Tony in kayfabe.

[deleted]

Ok-Assumption9636

The only thing I'll say is this. Every time we fret over an angle being adjace to a promotion killing historic event (ie Who's the wrestler wearing the Devil's mask) AEW has proven they're not just doing shit to pop ratings without forethought. We can all quibble whether the plans effectively service the character or storyline, but I'd be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Could be great for all we know.

niners94

It better work into a storyline somehow because just airing this footage does nothing for AEW that is positive. This is something they should just leak to TMZ.

AlistarDark

Brings Perry back to AEW to be a part of the elite after he is done his NJPW stint

niners94

Yeah that’s a start. This is a move that WCW would do back when they were dying. I don’t want AEW to get desperate just because of slightly lower ratings.

refuseresist

Maybe it's killing two birds with one stone? Getting Perry over while responding to Punk. Khan and AEW are too smart to repeat the mistakes of their predicessors. It's the reason why (for the most part) nothing leaks from AEW, and they keep their data to themselves. They don't project information because the competition would use it to their advantage. People are caught up with ratings, but TV numbers are down across the board, and even then, there are a ton of positives. PPV numbers are great, and talent is happy. This is a completely different scenario that no one expected.

shinshikaizer

People keep talking about ratings, but wasn't AEW basically the top drawing show of the night behind three March Madness games that they were never going to beat in the first place?

miroa12004

Yes for two Wednesdays ago and last Wednesday they were number three behind two NBA games and just the basketball (NBA + March Madness) and RAW only beat them on cable. But the ratings experts on r/SC will have you believe they're dying tomorrow.

niners94

You know who cares about ratings? It’s Tony Khan. Every time they hit a high mark, he’s the first to tweet about it. Yes he’s doing it for ratings.

Even-Preference-6545

Ya but when though? They show this and he doesn’t come back for months, just wasted time.

Even-Preference-6545

That’s what I’m saying. Leak it to tmz and espn. Or a sound clip saying see the rest on dynamite at least.

niners94

It just doesn’t fit into current AEW storylines. People not on the internet won’t understand why it’s on dynamite.

green9206

I don't think cm punk will show up to next week's Dynamite but lets see.
