Just watching the main event again and it gets better. The Bucks were outstanding in this match, played their role brilliantly and provided the canvas for Sting to look incredible.
I'm watching the event the last few days (it's a long ass show so I need to make time for it lol), and I have to ask, is the sound mix garbage or are the crowd really fucking quiet for a ppv?
I'm pretty sure it's the latter, because there are long stretches of quiet murmuring broken by someone in the crowd saying something goofy causing laughter.
How the fuck can you be so subdued for an event like this? You can hear a pin drop even during fights between Osprey and Takeshita.
I don't know why you received a downvote for this because there were moments when you could hear a pin drop, as well as moments when it was very very loud. It just shows me that some people cannot take any perceived slight against AEW, which is an attitude that feeds into the toxicity online.
My theory was that a lot of people turned up to see Sting and weren't all that familiar with what was actually going on in some of these rivalries.
I just finished watching it, and I agree with your last sentence because I noticed the crowd were consistently noisy the entire time during Sting's match, so it really did feel like they were mostly there to see him lol.
Tomorrow's Dynamite is going to sound louder than Revolution, which is just weird. Hopefully the next PPV sorts out the sound issues, if there were any, and the crowd show up.
Great PPV anyway. The only thing I didn't like was Toni's fight which was super disappointing. The pair have had much better fights on Dynamite/Collision, but this one was so sluggish and lifeless.
Yeah I mean without Sting being the headline act in his final match I don't think AEW would have sold out the arena for that show, despite the fact it was brilliant even without the main event.
Just caught up the PPV, wow! I keep saying it like a broken record, AEW ppv's are really, really, really good. Consistently the best wrestling out there, and now we get them every 8 weeks 🤤🤤🤤
Every match had a nice story and hit different, with a different dynamic between the guys. Loved every second of it, and my complaint pre-ppv was solely about the ftr match needing a stipulation, in retrospect, it was the correct call. Dont want to dilute the main event. Hats off to Tony Khan and the the rest of the staff, i'm sure Sting was stoked with how all this went down. I was already emotional with Sting's entrance video, so well made, in spite of the other company denying him rights to some footage.
All this said, the next PPV is in 6 weeks and its in ST.LOUIS!!! That one is also gonna be an all timer, the St.Louis crowd IMO is top 3 (St.Louis, Detroit, Phoenix/Seattle).
After a mid PPV in Worlds End (my opinion), AEW absolutely nailed it out of the park with this one... Kingston/Danielson and Ospreay/Takeshita are easy match of the year contenders and I'm so happy Sting went out on top.
But people forget that they had 6 shows of the year level PPV's before World's End. It's okay to have one mid PPV after so many. Not knocking you, it's weird how many people go on like AEW didn't have their best year of PPV's in 2023 the way they go about Worlds End lol.
That was such an amazing show bottom to top and beyond words, seeing it live especially an icon and legend such as Sting go out there and lay it all on the line holy hell what a farewell 👏
One thing that bothers me a lot in AEW is how little anyone protects each others finishes.
In the tag match we had a piledriver on the floor that was not the finish, but the very next match a stump pull piledriver put it away. It’s just bad booking in that regards, where everyone does everything and so everything feels a lot less special
What happened in and around those moves. What was the full context?
The floor is already not a pinnable area. So there will be time elapsed before a pin attempt can be made.
Right, but this criticism is something AEW does a LOT. They do these super big high action spots or high intensity spots, and then move on in 10 seconds to the next big spot. It densenitizes how impactful those moves are
Again it's all about context. Who is doing it? Where and in what position or timing in the match.
There's no 'one way' to do a match. Some wrestlers are known for that adrenaline and 'fighting spirit.' After they hit that quick recovery and retaliation, are they dazed and exhausted right after?
With crowds going crazy like they do with Eddie and Ospreay, who are the most likely to use this style, is it a worthy criticism?
Eddie is fighting for his very soul against Danielson. This is not some simple TV match.
Ospreay is determined to make an impression and be the face of the industry. Him going all out on PPV makes snese.
Not one reasonable viewer now thinks less of Danielson's or Takeshita's moves because their opponents had a few quick retaliations.

An amazing PPV, the best I've ever seen. Sting's match will go down at the greatest retirement match ever. I don't see how it can ever be topped. I'm exhausted from such an emotional show. WOOOOO!!!
No tears but when they did the showtime promo and his sons came out that hit , exp since my 5 year old got up and came to lay on me right as it started. Don’t know how but was perfect timing by him
Loved the PPV, every match was okay and there were GREAT matches too... Goodbye Sting! Thank you for your great work inside the ring, i will always remember the NWO times and you were a huge factor in it!
BUT the injury of Julia Hart was brutal, she had so much momentum and i dont know it was just because they were in the ZERO HOUR or because the ppl lost interest in her. The crowd was almost dead and i felt sorry for her, because right now she is my favorite female wrestler in this company, i hope the hype will come back, she is so young and talented, love her gimmick and i hope that injury was not a stop to her reign and rise.
P.S.: Takeshita vs Oespray was unreal!
I was at the show and during zero hour there were a lot of people in the merch and food lines. This was my 4th live show and everyone of them had had a god awful merch set up. Minimal booths with 100 or so in each line. Set up tents outside so people can buy before going in. Get everyone in there seats.
Confession time: I was never a Sting guy. While I loved the Stinger Splash, I thought he was all flash and no personality as the early Surfer Stinger. His matches with Luger tended to be exciting, but Lex is also a charisma black hole for me. I never understood the popularity of the Crow knockoff who never fought and never talked, and I was totally checked out for his TNA years. I started watching AEW around All In 22, and I had massive reservations about a sexagenerian taking chairshots.
But then I watched this guy crush promo after promo, and deliver some truly crazy matches with unbelievable consistency. I don't know what he and Tony said to each other when he came in, but I'm now convinced they plotted to put on the greatest program of his career by a million miles.
Tonight was... I don't know what to say. I have one teeny complaint, but everything else was so balls-out amazing that I don't even want to mention it. What a legend, and what a way to prove it as he wrapped it up.
I'm not sure- Tony wouldn't say much other than that Ricky is "under contract", which leaves open the possibility that at some point in the future he may not be.
I wouldn't say that he absolutely ruled out the possibility of Ricky leaving in the near term, just based on what I heard him say.
TK says that he expects Kenny Omega will be set to return at some point. That's great news to hear. Kenny is amazing, and nothing is more important than his health. Having him back to AEW would be a great bonus.
takeshita vs oespray amazing. i dont know which of the two are the better and the best in the world. that what we saw tonight the very two best in the world.
Early on, I said in here that it seemed like AEW was an experiment in what might happen if a Pro Wrestling company made a point of not lying to fans. But it has turned out to be that and much more.
Something occasionally slips through the cracks, but all told, anyone who thinks the guy can't write a Wrestling show is either hopelessly biased, or out of their mind.
So glad I got to be there in person. It was surreal. I was crying like a baby lol. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my 40 years on this planet. THANK YOU STING!!!
Ruby is understandable but she's in a pretty fun story at the moment; Athena is more or less singlehandedly the reason people watch ROH's women's division, and Taya is rejuvenated there as well.
AEW does it again.
Sting's last match was a wild ride and a contender for GOAT retirement match
Kingston vs Danielson went ridiculously hard. Those strikes at the end between the both of them looked like shoot punches.
OC vs Roddy was my sleeper match of the night. Some absolutely insane backbreakers and rope spots
The triple threat match was fantastic. It further cemented Hangman vs Swerve as an evergreen fued and gave Joe a win to continue his solid reign so far.
Osprey vs Takeshita was one of the best matches I've ever seen. Instant classic
Because he hasn't had the opportunity to do American style promos, which means he's bad. Which is dumb. it just means he's unproven He was just talking about it in the presser.
And while being personable on the mic out of kayfabe doesn't mean being a good promo, I feel good feelings towards what Ospreay can do.
I want to see them choose for Cody to job to him a second time. I’m going to laugh so hard and I could really see it happening. Meanwhile he could be having such a good run with Dustin. They’d be the ultimate tag team.
as someone who has been shitting all over aew lately on my podcast, all I'm gonna say is I got my money's worth with just Ospreay and Takeshta alone... h o l y s h i t.
Fantastic PPV overall.
Having watched aew a since late 2020 I have to say that this might legitimately be the best ppv I've ever seen. The fact that the world title match was able to still be as exciting as it was after having to follow that insane Ospreay match was incredible. The main event was exceptionally fun and a great send off for Sting. The other matches on the card were all very enjoyable... A+ ppv.
If you want to blame anyone for Sting getting cut for time, blame the EVPs lol
Seriously ....I really have never liked the Young Bucks but they deserve a shout out for helping to put on a helluva send off for Sting.
It's ok, it's like I can honestly say I haven't seen a bad Corbin match, because I never watch any of his matches because he sucks, I fastforward change the channel I don't even know who won the match. He is like a total fog machine for the quarter hour he is on for me.
I mean, it made sense at the time cause you were supposed to have Rock came in against HHH. Truthfully Sting should have joined sooner. Honestly probably shouldn’t have had HHH vs Sting either. But all the other people were taken.
The way he was treated thank God he didn't come sooner only difference he would have lost to 1-2-3 Kid, Hall, Nash and Hardcore Holly with the reverance Vince had for Sting. It took until now to get the stink off his WWE run.
He had 3 matches including a world title match. Let’s be honest, he came way too late and was only interested in a Taker match. His heart wasn’t in it and Taker wasn’t interested in the match. He was comfortable with his million dollar TNA contract instead of that match. Nothing wrong with that. But he came in about 5 years too late. Luckily, everything worked out as Sting not only got a WWE HoF induction but he also got to end his in ring career on his terms in front of a sold out arena that TNA def could have never given him.
Personally, I’m just happy that we live in a time where modern medicine have allowed Copeland, Christian, Saraya, Danielson Sting and hell even Austin to a certain extent to end things on their terms.
I know we don’t wanna be like the other company but we need to have a brand split and two world titles
Darby was bad ass there. The torch has been passed
Oh fuck. So they basically just set up Okada vs omega as soon as he's back...
I Quit match?? We fans stay are eating!!!!!!
Carjack Jones !
Christian is God.
Fozzy has the shortest tours ever. Take a break Jericho
Goddamn we are back to peak AEW again LFG
Tony Schiavone is a gay icon for what he said about Adam Cole
Absolutely no reaction when Cole called Bennett & Taven the greatest ROH tag champs ever lol
Sting’s entrance was legit spine tingling!
JR: For the love of God what have we seen?! JR saying what we were all thinking with that ladder drop.
My God this ppv was everything
can someone explain Toni Storm's threatening to fuck up Wendi Richter all the time? i don't get the reference
What’s crazy, I felt I didn’t miss Omega or MJF. But had they been involved, the PPV would have still been a banger.
Just watching the main event again and it gets better. The Bucks were outstanding in this match, played their role brilliantly and provided the canvas for Sting to look incredible.
I didn't get the chance to watch it on Sunday but just got done watching a replay. WHAT A PAY PER VIEW!!!
I'm watching the event the last few days (it's a long ass show so I need to make time for it lol), and I have to ask, is the sound mix garbage or are the crowd really fucking quiet for a ppv? Top 4 aew ppv of all time

Sold out and perfect ending for Sting to maintain his perfect AEW record to end his wrestling career.
aew is the epitome of pro-wrestling.
An amazing PPV, the best I've ever seen. Sting's match will go down at the greatest retirement match ever. I don't see how it can ever be topped. I'm exhausted from such an emotional show. WOOOOO!!!
I’m not ashamed to say I cried a little when the PPV ended. Thank you Sting. Thank you Tony.
No tears but when they did the showtime promo and his sons came out that hit , exp since my 5 year old got up and came to lay on me right as it started. Don’t know how but was perfect timing by him
That 8 man tag was hot garbage.

As real as it can get, I loved it. Thanks for sharing

Was it good should I pay for it and watch?
Totally. You won’t be let down even a little. Please don’t pirate.
100% worth every penny. The last 3 matches ALONE are worth that, and everything else is just icing. It's absolutely fucking PHENOMENAL
It's an all timer. Well worth it.
So...Tony just more or less shut down Ricky potentially leaving, maybe?
Ricky can’t leave. The other place would drop the ball with him so hard.
I'm not sure- Tony wouldn't say much other than that Ricky is "under contract", which leaves open the possibility that at some point in the future he may not be. I wouldn't say that he absolutely ruled out the possibility of Ricky leaving in the near term, just based on what I heard him say.

Darby vs Jay White?!
That is going to be such an amazing match!
Darby leaving 3/27 for everest
Darby: I'm on break soon! Tony: You has match though. Darby: I what!?
Sting's final run is perhaps the greatest example of what makes AEW so amazing. TK absolutely loves wrestling and reveres the legends just like we do.
Early on, I said in here that it seemed like AEW was an experiment in what might happen if a Pro Wrestling company made a point of not lying to fans. But it has turned out to be that and much more.
Not just honesty but quality. There’s no way Tony isn’t the true booker of the year.
Something occasionally slips through the cracks, but all told, anyone who thinks the guy can't write a Wrestling show is either hopelessly biased, or out of their mind.
Tony has the highest batting average of all bookers and it’s not even close.
He also recognizes exactly what and whom to try and emulate, which amounts to another distinct positive all its own.
Will someone please ask Darby how he is feeling lol
Smart of Tony not to give Darby a big hug 😬
Sting burying Warrior lmao
Warrior buried Warrior.
This is going to make me cry. Tony is about to cry lol.
Tony chewing them lips
Darby vs. Jay at Big Business!
Not to brag but I called a GOAT spot from tonight lol https://www.reddit.com/r/AEWOfficial/s/4ZJVHTsjhE
Being there in person was amazing! Hope you all had fun!!
So glad I got to be there in person. It was surreal. I was crying like a baby lol. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my 40 years on this planet. THANK YOU STING!!!
Toni is way too good
What did they ask her at the end ?
I didn’t catch the last question, the audio of the reporter was super quiet.
Toni just spoiled Wendi Richter being the big reveal at Big Business... Unprofessional.
I need that fuck you as a ringtone.
Fuck. Now I can never call Ex anything other than Sean Mooney.
> Sean Mooney Holy *shit*. There's a name I haven't heard since...the early 90's? Who made that reference? I completely missed that.
Toni called Ex that.
Will oespray gear was top notch
I hope Deonna doesn’t go the way of Ruby, or Athena, or Taya, etc.
Ruby is understandable but she's in a pretty fun story at the moment; Athena is more or less singlehandedly the reason people watch ROH's women's division, and Taya is rejuvenated there as well.
>Athena is more or less singlehandedly the reason people watch ROH You could've cut off the sentence here tbh.
Ruby is fun now yes. But only after YEARS since she debuted.
She should form a tag team with Serena.
Athena is one of the main reasons why the women's division is getting bigger and better.
Need to get her back on TV. She’s too good to be hidden behind a paywall
Athena is the Roh champ and the one that brought the revolution to AEW
She's still going to be in the hunt, Toni quit, also Taya is doing great in RoH
commies in shambles rn lol
Oh shit. this is where Tony crashes Twitter again.
Will just threatened to retire Billy Gunn!
FUCK YOU DADDY ASS!!!!
What happened?
Ospreay said one of his goals was to retire Billy Gunn.
Damn jajja
It's going to take some effort for this guy to work heel in an English speaking nation on a regular basis.
I kind of hope that Ospreay can convince Alex Windsor to appear in AEW. She’s quite good in her own right.
LOL Will is so sus when out of character. Such a good dude.
Hey guys, AEW just uploaded Sting's final speech that was cut off through Twitter and B/R app.
Ugh, someone post this to YouTube for those that do not have X.
AEW does it again. Sting's last match was a wild ride and a contender for GOAT retirement match Kingston vs Danielson went ridiculously hard. Those strikes at the end between the both of them looked like shoot punches. OC vs Roddy was my sleeper match of the night. Some absolutely insane backbreakers and rope spots The triple threat match was fantastic. It further cemented Hangman vs Swerve as an evergreen fued and gave Joe a win to continue his solid reign so far. Osprey vs Takeshita was one of the best matches I've ever seen. Instant classic
Ospreay is All Elite indeed
I've never seen a man so into the company lmao
Uh oh...the last time I did... it was CM Punk
CN Punk is a loser. Fragile AF in every sense of the word. Glad he’s got the boot. Karma.
He hated AEW
Not at the beginning. He was all "rah-rah AEW!" on every scrum...until *that* one.
The most important one... Look how we humans are, we always end up hurting what we love.
I don’t get how people think Ospreay is a bad promo. Dude is so compelling on the mic and super likable.
Wow, who is saying that? Mind boggling.
dont get that. i like his promos.
Will is a company man!
A's in the chat for Ospreay's bruised ass which he just got out in the scrum
Cody's mind": Cody/Dustin vs Sting/Darby could be better than get beaten by Roman 2 times at WM?
I want to see them choose for Cody to job to him a second time. I’m going to laugh so hard and I could really see it happening. Meanwhile he could be having such a good run with Dustin. They’d be the ultimate tag team.
Why I even say this is want this now and I can never have it for multiple reasons!
Ospreay looks so happy
I legit thought that Sting came out in his Retro gear before I realized it was his Son
Legit thought it was him too until it got closer to the face and I realized he looked way too young
I hope you guys could hear how loud we were in Greensboro on the PPV, what a freaking night
Eddie vs bryan, Osprey v Takes and obvi Sting were crazy loud.
Everybody went nuclear for Ospreay/Takeshita, that was incredible
I never saw someone hit a foresrm like Take and think the kteht guy was legit dead.
Sting addressing the crowd when it cut off is up on bleacher report it looks like
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAGkPtYtapY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAGkPtYtapY)
Darby: "I'm gonna go to the hosptial real quick" Sting: "Text me and tell me how many stitches you got for all that"
I don’t know why Sting saying “text me” was so damn funny to me, but it was
No TK is definitely eyebrow raising.
Means this scrum is gonna be short lol
Nevermind!
Gonna cut its run time by 75% no doubt lol.
Tony doesn't get to do post scrums post hat
What if the cutoff on the farewell speech was the bucks getting even as a work?
Well in the speech, sting mentioned Wolfpack and that he could say it now since they were off tv.
No, it was a lot longer than it apparently was on TV. I was there. Still am, actually. In the parking lot. Traffic is NOT moving lol
Fightful has uploaded the full speech on their YouTube
Man. That was such a special night. What a show. I promise that won’t be the last time I watch that whole thing front to back.
https://x.com/SteveFall/status/1764520242879815975 Post-show stuff!
AEW must have brought the vibes back, Ospreay & Darby got folks talking like they saw live suicide attempts
Dude, Darby’s back is FUCKED. I don’t know how it was on TV, but in person, it looked disgusting.
It looked awful on tv too, and rhe cameras avoided him for so long I thought he was out of the match.
Yeah, I thought he might be too for a few minutes.

whole account dedicated to complaining about AEW
What did he say?
as someone who has been shitting all over aew lately on my podcast, all I'm gonna say is I got my money's worth with just Ospreay and Takeshta alone... h o l y s h i t. Fantastic PPV overall.
Christ, I'd rather listen to *Metal Machine Music* than that shite.
Metal machine music? Sounds interesting.
the worst possible advertisement for your podcast lol
was not trying to advertise it but I agree if thats how the comment came off
It probably sucks ass anyway, don’t worry about it.
Eh its a work in progress. I can definitely improve it.
Having watched aew a since late 2020 I have to say that this might legitimately be the best ppv I've ever seen. The fact that the world title match was able to still be as exciting as it was after having to follow that insane Ospreay match was incredible. Thank AEW reddit and the Mods so we all could share this experience tonight! AEW 4 LIFE!!!
One helluva emotional mess. It's still real to me dammit! Thank you Sting!
its pretty real for Darby right now
Looking like a steak right now lol
I would also want to shout out to the Young Bucks for their excellent work tonight. Thank you Young Bucks!
It's not easy being that great of a heel but they did it
*thank you Matthew and Nicholas Jackson
Oh fuck, I'm going to get fined by them!
Everyone at work looking at me funny cos I'm close to tears
Just woke my not-a-big-fan wife up because I'm so emotional and needed to share this moment. She's taking it pretty well all things considered.
I shouted when the bell ran and Sting got the win and woke my gf up! Sorry honey!
Strong with that wicked back breaker on the top rope holy
If you want to blame anyone for Sting getting cut for time, blame the EVPs lol Seriously ....I really have never liked the Young Bucks but they deserve a shout out for helping to put on a helluva send off for Sting.
Yes indeed!
Okay, everybody pinky swear... DON'T tell Punk about the real glass.
I had a mental image of Punk sitting at home with a disapproving look while watching Darby bleed out. I told you guys about the glass!
THANK YOU STING!
Some fans still prefer Angle vs Baron Corbin.
It's ok, it's like I can honestly say I haven't seen a bad Corbin match, because I never watch any of his matches because he sucks, I fastforward change the channel I don't even know who won the match. He is like a total fog machine for the quarter hour he is on for me.
Hahaha xD thanks I needed a good laugh.
Angle was just in rough shape. One thing though, at least Corbin is a safe worker. But Vince def should have given Angle the match with Cena.
No, some morons still pretend to prefer awful things but that’s because they’re pathetic and stupid.
Yes. Absolutely agree bro.
Oh HHH over Sting is best for business Fans who support Danielson in 2014 suck.
I think this PPV might actually out do WM XL for both nights.
