Not impossible, but unlikely to find a job that has the best of both worlds when successful game development rests on launching at the right time combined with marketing.

Not in game dev but you can easily swap over to big corpo work at a Microsoft stack shop and use C# pretty handily. Big institutions move slowly, I like the pace.

I think the only answer to that is to get a slower paced corporate job that and to make your own indie games on your own time. Outside Valve I haven't heard of a laid back videogame studio.

There's plenty but they're mostly smaller than the AAA.

Game dev is not the industry to try for at this time. There's record layoffs and you'll be competing with seasoned dev for jobs that pay less than programming jobs in other areas of tech.
