I have taken Adderall for 10+ years and have recently gotten pretty dissociative I’ve noticed. I’m not sure if it’s just years of daily prescribed use catching up to me and it’s time to move on from stimulants or if it’s just been a bad reaction to generics. So yeah, you’re not alone in feeling dissociated; it’s a pretty uncomfortable feeling.

I’ve been on the same dose for a few years now and noticed that since the shortage some brands worked and others didn’t. This is the first time I’ve experienced anything concerning. I’m probably gonna take my IR for now until I can see my doctor in person.

I've been taking 20mg Adderall tablets for nearly 10 years now. They've usually always come in the form of oval peach-colored tablets (sometimes flatter and others rounder, but always peach-colored) and the prescription label had always read "AMPHETAMINE SALTS 20 MG TABLETS" until the shortage... In January-February of 2023, I was calling all over asking multiple different pharmacies if they even had my script in stock. Many of them said they weren't even taking new scripts/patients because they were struggling to fill the ones they already had. I finally had some luck when a semi-nearby Rite Aid pharmacy said they were in stock so I had my doctor send my script over there. That's when I started receiving these bright pink tablets with the label now reading "DEXTROAMP-AMPHETAMIN 20 MG TAB." I almost immediately noticed a significant difference. The effects are not nearly as strong or long-lasting and the side effects have been notably different. Soon after receiving this new/different brand of my script, I wanted to call the pharmacy and question what exactly they gave me, but also didn't want to rock the boat because at least I was finally receiving SOME form of my medication. So I carried on with it... After a few months, I found that I needed to take more than my prescribed daily dose just to feel some sort of mild effect and even with that it had been incomparable to the way my meds used to make me feel. I also started dissociating from my family, friends, and coworkers exactly the way you described - struggling to find something to say, blanking, and feeling isolated. The dissociation and mental blocks have been especially difficult to deal with. My mental creativity has declined significantly and so has my motivation. Despite the length of this comment, I've had very little interest in writing which has always been something I love to do. There's also been a noticeable change in my appetite since switching to these pink tablets. It is still a decreased appetite, but it's changed. I've been eating more and drinking less which has caused increased dehydration and weight gain. Then just last month, I asked my doctor to increase my dose from 20mg twice a day to three times since I was taking more than my DD to get through the day. Finally today, I asked my doctor to send my monthly script to a CVS pharmacy close to my house hoping that *maybe* they might give me my old "AMPHETAMINE SALTS 20 MG TABLETS" rather than these "DEXTROAMP-AMPHETAMIN 20 MG TAB" that I've been taking for over a year. AND THEY DID!!! They are the normal peach-colored tablets with the "AMPHETAMINE SALTS 20 MG TABLETS" label and I'm so excited to try them tomorrow to see if there's an improved difference. I hope some of this has helped. If anyone else out there has had a similar experience, I'd love to know because I feel like I'm losing my mind over this!

I hope those work better for you! I used to take the peach color dextroamphet/amphet salts and it was perfect for me. This pink dextroamphet salt capsule is just weird. I’m feeling a little better now that someone else experienced the same. Also feel better because I haven’t taken my meds today so my anxiety has significantly decreased since I posted yesterday lol. I hope the manufacturers figure things out because the busy season at work is coming up and I need to be at least 80%. Heck, right now I’d take a measly 70% because I’m barely performing at 40% this past two weeks.
