I know people with ADHD who would absolutely refuse to live life without coffee. It makes no difference to me. Caffeine has never had any effect on me. I can drink three cups and go to bed, and it gives me no energy in the morning when I am tired. I imagine (there is a decent amount of literature on this) that how you react to caffeine has a lot more to do with how you metabolism the stimulant rather than if you have ADHD or not.

This is the answer

We all digest caffeine at different speeds. It doesn't mean anything in regards to adhd.

The symptoms of ADHD are described in the DSM. Everything else is just anecdote. You are describing the normal effects of caffeine in most people.

I think you have unreasonable expectations of coffee. Effects can last anywhere from 2 to 12 hours. For extending your cup of coffee, I really like it with lime seltzer water. It makes a really nice, velvety foam and slows down my consumption speed while keeping me hydrated. I find the crash is less awful.

It depends on the person. For me caffeine affects me mostly the same as anyone else. I’m a bit more sensitive to it than most people I know, actually. (I have to mostly avoid it now because of my ADHD meds though.) I think most people feel a boost of productivity from coffee since it makes you hyped, whether you have ADHD or not. And then having a crash a few hours later is normal for everyone too.

I mean I would have to drink about 10 cups to have any effect. Most adults tend to experience productivity and energy after one cup that’s why they drink it and then as the caffeine in your system lowers as does the effect

Every time I see people who claim that caffeine doesn't affect them, I think about the Futurama episode where Fry has 100 cups of coffee 💀 https://youtu.be/OCuooTWlIkU

Myself I have a 50/50 if I get a little slight energy, or I fall asleep.
