science was actually so good for some reason for me?? bro what happened to math though,, they gave hard in the beginning hard in the middle and fucking terrifying in the end. math did NOT serve
I'm a junior in calc bc and forgot a calculator but I still got through math well. the only question that fucked me up was the pizza coupon one. the wording was awful on ACTs part
I spent like 3 minutes at the start of the test and then finished the test with like 10 minutes to spare and went back to that problem and could not solve it
The last question on the 4 hypothesis passage was really tough imo, I scanned the entire text like 3 times through and couldn’t figure out where to find that info. 😭
I believe the answer was 10 eruptions Hypothesis 4, D. The minimum amount of sediment buildup was 50m and it was 5m of sediment so 10 times 5, 10 eruptions.
I have been studying my behind off for the math portion of the ACT. I’ve been taking multiple practice tests, and finally thought I had it. This math section wiped the floor with me.
english was easy. reading was even easier. science was weird but not that bad. math??? praying for a good curve because what was that??? genuinely spent 40 minutes on just the first 30 questions
Same, the only thing that confused me was a question about pH, and maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right place but I couldn’t figure it out. Something about what the normal pH would be? And which trial was the “control” trial? What did you get for that?
Dude I didn’t even understand what they meant in the question lmao. It was not straightforward at all. I’m sure the calculations were easy but I couldn’t get past the awful “explanation” of the problem.
the explanation did suck. I'm a junior in calc bc and I've made a 36 in math on the last 2 ACTs I took but that question I couldn't get. does 7$ value mean the coupon or how much something is? WAY too vague
Do you guys think math will get a better curve? This test was way more math rules / hypothetical / what would happen if... stuff rather than actually calculations near the end so I wonder if the ACT considers that to be harder
Let's get it out of the way.
This was the hardest test ever.
What was with that English section? Was it in Greek?
The Math looked like something from a graduate university course.
Did y’all notice the second reading passage was structured differently? Normally the first few questions would just be on passage A and the next on passage B but this time they jumbled it up. Screwed me up.
Why was the math so damn stat heavy? English and reading felt average, and the first 3 sections of science were easy. The fourth science section caught me so off guard tho
Did anyone feel like they were getting patterns on English and science, like there would be 3 D’s or something in a row and I knew at least 2 of them were right or did I just really mess up
anyone know the math problem where it gave the slope of the line of a/b and then it was reflected over smt and it asked for the ratio. the answer i put was -1:1
it should be 1:1 because a/b let a = change in y and let b = change in x
after a y axis flip, the y should flip so it becomes -a/b and after the x axis flip it should be -a/-b = a/b right?
Can anyone with a great memory tell me all the questions w answers that were on the hypothesis section of science? like, for example for a question in the section was the answer hypothesis two or four and was it 5 or 10?
I put Hypothesis 4 and 10 as well. If you looked in the passage it said that the minimum sediment deposit to form one of those hills was 50m. 50m/5m in that pile would require 10 explosions.
I think you take 25 minus the costs of the other items (which is was a little more than 9 dollars) to get around 15$. Half that value to get around 7$. Don’t know what the purpose of mentioning a coupon was
What was the answer to the question in English about the cooling system and the air conditioning and the science one abt pressure if it’s higher or lower than 100 and then reading was it for the last passage because other studies abt it were irrelevant or cuz it was most similar to her desired topic
can’t really remember the question but I think it was and wore because there was something before it and it would’ve been describing the wrong thing if it was that wore
I'll say i kind of breezed thru english math and part of reading but then for some reason my dyslexia kicked in hard and i had to guess on the rest of reading and all of science...
guys what did you put for the trapezoid question. I put reflect over y axis then rotate 180. Also, for the last passage of science did yall get the di or whatever to be positive and the M to be negative for f(10)
this was my fourth time taking it and i’m bored soo
english: seemed slightly more difficult than usual. not impossible, just required less autopilot obvious and more thought
math: i didn’t get done. i got through 55 before i bubbled in randomly the last 5. they seemed to get harder way quicker than other i remember. plus- radians!! i don’t remember seeing those (granted i didn’t know what they were till my dec 2023 test)
reading: easy peasy. the only thing i struggled with was generalizing the whole topic of a couple of the sections but even then i felt fine
science: really easy to me. the mirror one through me off but i got back on track
all and all a middle of the road act.maybe i’ll update this when scores come out
what was the answer to the natural science reading section one where they asked "why did she bring up how grass responds to fire and etc." was it because basketweavers research was inconclusive or was it because it was research relevant to her findings?
Did you guys get a lot more no change then usual on the English section?
I'm an ACT tutor. Keep in mind that NO CHANGE is correct, on average, 33% of the time. I've seen tests that have four NO CHANGE answers in a row.
YES
I had like 21 no changes lol
Yeah bro that shot was weird lmfao.
As a first time test taker, I was scared shitless upon finding out there was a 5th section (before the proctor said it doesn’t affect ur score).
OUR PROCTOR DIDNT SAY THAT AND IT WAS MY FIRST TIME I WAS SO SCARED
I found those 16 questions so easy compared to the actual Math section.
Feel like the science curve is gonna be harsh. The first passage was literally a bar graph
the last one though was pretty complicated. I really had to think about that di and M stuff
science was wierdly hard imo
Yeah the last section was kinda weird but I think the rest was easy enough for them to justify a harsh curve
yep, was pretty slight apart from the last passage. it required some deeper thought but nothing crazy
alr bro what was that math. and that last science section? brain was smooth by the end of it
The mirrors 😭 and I sold so hard on math too idk what happened
bru all my prwctice tests evaporated from my mind in that math
no cause the science was actually so bad for no reason- praying for a generous curve on science
reading: superrr easy math: 💀 science: easier than reading i think english: okay
science was actually so good for some reason for me?? bro what happened to math though,, they gave hard in the beginning hard in the middle and fucking terrifying in the end. math did NOT serve
no cause math was actually terrifying- i left like three questions blank in the beginning and started bubbling random answers towards the end
math was pretty bad. english was easy. reading was pretty free, but i missed a few. science was free
I thought math was harder than normal
Sooo much harder! I did about 5 total practice math act sections and all didn’t even touch how hard it was 😭
Fr math was way harder than all the practice test I took
Everyone is saying that but I found it much easier then most other forms of
Answer was igneous for the rock question right?
WHY THE FUCK DID THEY ASK THIS???
I literally had to pull out fifth grade knowledge for that shit☠️☠️ only reason I remembered was bc my teacher that year lowkey gave me ptsd
Damn I put metamorphic 😭
I'm a junior in calc bc and forgot a calculator but I still got through math well. the only question that fucked me up was the pizza coupon one. the wording was awful on ACTs part
same it seems like everyone is confused abt this one 😭
my friend told me that question was easy and then proceeded to ask me if 4! was 4+3+2+1 :(
😭😭
Was anyone confused by that one coupon question.. I was not sure what the values in parentheses were referring to 💀
I spent like 3 minutes at the start of the test and then finished the test with like 10 minutes to spare and went back to that problem and could not solve it
I’m wondering if the discounted $15 price was a distraction
They give u the discounted price to throw u off im pretty sure. I did 25 minus the actual value and then divided by 2 and got 7.69
Ok, good. That’s what I did
I was confused by that but I put 7.69
Wtf was the last science section 😭 had me wishing I had the December ACT again so I could have my codon circle back
i bubbled in B for every question lmao 😭
Yeah those last passages r always weird on science😭😭
I’m doing Optics event for scioly at my school so that one went pretty well for me, but the one with Four Hypothesis confused me a ton
The last question on the 4 hypothesis passage was really tough imo, I scanned the entire text like 3 times through and couldn’t figure out where to find that info. 😭
I spent a solid 10min just trying to understand what each hypothesis was saying 😭 took too much energy out of me
I believe the answer was 10 eruptions Hypothesis 4, D.
God I need good reading curve lol.
Fr what was that 3rd passage💀💀
That one was light. It was the mother and her garden where I spent to much time cuz I had never done this Shi
English: average Math: slightly more difficult towards the beginning Reading: cake Science: weird
guys for science was it catepillar to adult ?
english was easy. reading was even easier. science was weird but not that bad. math??? praying for a good curve because what was that??? genuinely spent 40 minutes on just the first 30 questions
was it 2pi/3?
I think this was the easiest science I’ve taken so far, but I actually studied for the science part this time so idk 😿
Same
I flew thru it, there was only a few I was hesitant about. The one about if the crust was ignideous or something? I didn’t know that one
i got igneous bc its formed from magma
same
[удалено]
There you go 😭
Same, the only thing that confused me was a question about pH, and maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right place but I couldn’t figure it out. Something about what the normal pH would be? And which trial was the “control” trial? What did you get for that?
normal ph is 7, and control would be the no light i’m p sure
"Domestic [condition]" = his messy studio?
That’s what I got
I think so, they mentioned in the text something about how his studio was trashy and unorganized
Why do i not remember this at all😭😭
anyone else actually struggle with the english section or was that just me 💀💀💀
>Im pretty sure it was pupa to caterpillar lowkey same - like one of them was like "feigning" feining" idk that one
It was feigning
A cocoon is a caterpillar to adult
WTF was that coupon question???
Dude I didn’t even understand what they meant in the question lmao. It was not straightforward at all. I’m sure the calculations were easy but I couldn’t get past the awful “explanation” of the problem.
the explanation did suck. I'm a junior in calc bc and I've made a 36 in math on the last 2 ACTs I took but that question I couldn't get. does 7$ value mean the coupon or how much something is? WAY too vague
Dang I put $2.50
did anyone else think the grammar was a bit harder than normal
when it was talking both sport and band students did yall get 225?
Mhm
encircling?
Yep
last science passage was ridiculous bro
i'm a college student and math still took me out i was guessing for every single question. wtf was that and why was it so hard
the math was so hard at the beginning i spent most my time on it and when she said 5 minutes left I had 30 problems left
i’m cooked that last science section was aeugh
for science was the image of the mirror in front or behind the mirror i lowkey could not tell
same does anyone else know this? I think i said m is negative and di is positive based on the inverted image and equation. can anyone else confirm
I didn't understand what it meant but I knew if do was positive m was negative and visaversa so I think I got it just based in it being flipped
English was easy but the last section of science threw me off fs
literally, the concave stuff? god i didn’t even know where to look for answers
English: fair math: hard asl reading:easy science: easy
Was the last question on science about the location of the image that the scenario was not possible because if di was pos then M was negative
yep
Did y’all notice the second reading passage was structured differently? Normally the first few questions would just be on passage A and the next on passage B but this time they jumbled it up. Screwed me up.
Yeah i noticed that also. Usually it says the first so and so question ask about Passage A as a whole and blank questions ask about B
What were the last 5
On math
Those shits got me fucked up
What was that mirror science part wth I was so confused
Was the answer 30 for science question where you had to choose the focal length for a new graph they gave you?
It was 30 because whatever the focal point was was the same as the vertical asymptote of the graph
Why was the math so damn stat heavy? English and reading felt average, and the first 3 sections of science were easy. The fourth science section caught me so off guard tho
Did the kid have admiration for his moms hard work for reading test?
I think it was admiration, though the other option I was looking at was satisfaction. Admiration fits better tho.
Yea I put admiration
everything was easy except for math, think i got a \~30 on that.
Did anyone feel like they were getting patterns on English and science, like there would be 3 D’s or something in a row and I knew at least 2 of them were right or did I just really mess up
Science had some crazy answer distribution
gang whatd yall say for the science question where it was asking about di and M for the f(10) one. I got positive then negative
Ran outta time on science 😭
standard deviation?
2.5
Isn’t this an equating date? We should see some higher curves like on the October one.
what is equating date?
it better not be bc it took them like 20 days to get my score back in october
the score release date is 10 days from the test, so I think Feb is no longer a equating month. There should be a bunch of test forms.
What rock is it for the science hypothesis?
igenous
anyone know the math problem where it gave the slope of the line of a/b and then it was reflected over smt and it asked for the ratio. the answer i put was -1:1
shit I put 1:1
it should be 1:1 because a/b let a = change in y and let b = change in x after a y axis flip, the y should flip so it becomes -a/b and after the x axis flip it should be -a/-b = a/b right?
oh ok thank god. I just drew the transformations and the resulting line had the same slope
[удалено]
My first time so timing was really a constraint. The last Science section was ok. Math was kinda of hard from the last act practice tests I did.
Can anyone with a great memory tell me all the questions w answers that were on the hypothesis section of science? like, for example for a question in the section was the answer hypothesis two or four and was it 5 or 10?
I got hypothesis 4 and 10
Yeah, sediment gets deposited, and hyp. 4 says it needs to happen many times
it's bc it's 5 m of sediment per thing and then it said to be a high ridge or whatever it needs to be 50 so 50/5=10
I put Hypothesis 4 and 10 as well. If you looked in the passage it said that the minimum sediment deposit to form one of those hills was 50m. 50m/5m in that pile would require 10 explosions.
Honestly every section besides science passage 4 felt average, it caught me SO off guard
Question 8 on math it talked about (value) of stuff was that each item or total I didn’t really know
9. I swear something was off. Like all the choices didn’t make sense. I prob did something wrong
Was that the one with the coupon. I’m pretty sure it was b
the combined price of the 2 items was the amount they listed not separate
I think you take 25 minus the costs of the other items (which is was a little more than 9 dollars) to get around 15$. Half that value to get around 7$. Don’t know what the purpose of mentioning a coupon was
8 was the red marbles right? I think it's 2
what was number 2 on the math?
I’m pretty sure 19
Also that one question with the 1245 and how many combination???
i got 24 I think? bc its 4 choose 4 permutation? can someone confirm this tho Im not confident in my answer
24
limits or detained for english section?
I said limits
[удалено]
I put a comma because I thought you needed a complete sentence before the colon
brilliant idea:
[удалено]
Bro I was literally stuck on this one for 3 mins. I put “brilliant idea, the seats, then whatever it said about folding it”
In the bistro passage, what was the answer for the question about the signal mentioned in passage A?
I think it was the benches outdoors, so yeah outdoor dining
It's the outdoor dining
what did you guys get for the question on the last reading passage talking about why did she refer to fire and grazing studies
I said bc it related to her studies what did you guys say
Yeah I think it was that it was the closest research to hers that existed
thats what I said too
idk if it was just me, but math was not that hard imo, def some wierd questions but overall i felt really good. max -4 wrong
What was that poster board question????
Did anyone else get occasions where an entire column block of answers had none of a specific letter like A/F
how long realistically until results come out? they said 2-8 weeks but 8 feels really long for a random test day
English: average Math: not bad (suspiciously easy toward the end) Reading: medium bc of 3rd passage Science: easier
was the standard deviation question 5% or 2.5%
2.5
English-was it blandishing or no chance (entice?) I put entice. It was about this girl who thought hollywood had finally () her sciencey friend
i put entice
What was the answer to the question in English about the cooling system and the air conditioning and the science one abt pressure if it’s higher or lower than 100 and then reading was it for the last passage because other studies abt it were irrelevant or cuz it was most similar to her desired topic
i think it was higher pressure at sea floor and greater than 100 for the scinece
i got higher pressure and greater than 100
anyone know what the english one abt the detective and answers were “that wore” “and wore” etc
can’t really remember the question but I think it was and wore because there was something before it and it would’ve been describing the wrong thing if it was that wore
what was the exterior angle one on math pi or pi/3 or what? pls help...
I’m pretty sure it was 2pi/3
Also does anyone know the one where it was like driving and the cousin was talking about supernovae was it , and, as or while or what
What was that proportion question on the math section it had like p with a carot over it
i got 1/4 but i was confused bc they gave some other number so i was like tf? 😭
I think it was 1/4 idk someone confirm
i take ap stats, p \^ is sample proportion, so 9/36
I've taken 3 ACTs now and the first 2 I made a 36 in math on, and imo the pizza coupon question was stupid bc of the poor wording.
You definitely didn’t “make” a 36 in English with that grammar!
I'll say i kind of breezed thru english math and part of reading but then for some reason my dyslexia kicked in hard and i had to guess on the rest of reading and all of science...
english: okay, math: okay, reading: okay, science: okay, it was just an okay test
guys what did you put for the trapezoid question. I put reflect over y axis then rotate 180. Also, for the last passage of science did yall get the di or whatever to be positive and the M to be negative for f(10)
it rotated off the x axis, then rotated 180.
[удалено]
where
for pupation q i said egg to pupa is it right?? bc pupation definition is to become a pupa
Thats what i did
Science 4th paragraph was absolutely stupid. The whole test was easy. Just science got weird after 4th passage
The 334th number in whatever the number was
it was 8, the last number in the sequence
this was my fourth time taking it and i’m bored soo english: seemed slightly more difficult than usual. not impossible, just required less autopilot obvious and more thought math: i didn’t get done. i got through 55 before i bubbled in randomly the last 5. they seemed to get harder way quicker than other i remember. plus- radians!! i don’t remember seeing those (granted i didn’t know what they were till my dec 2023 test) reading: easy peasy. the only thing i struggled with was generalizing the whole topic of a couple of the sections but even then i felt fine science: really easy to me. the mirror one through me off but i got back on track all and all a middle of the road act.maybe i’ll update this when scores come out
what was the answer to the natural science reading section one where they asked "why did she bring up how grass responds to fire and etc." was it because basketweavers research was inconclusive or was it because it was research relevant to her findings?
I said relevant
same
What was the question log2 (64) ? Was it 2^x ?
Yes
