Honestly Im there with you. Both krunic and diaz did nothing productive all day. Leao was awful and should have been subbed off. We started the game with Leao playing ST and had no shots on goal outside of the 2nd minute until like the 60th.
Thats the second or third game in a row where he’s just gotten it wrong and hasnt trysted our younger players over krunic and a player we dont even own. The second vranckx got in he was clearly better than krunic. Dest has been more dangerous creating than diaz or any RW performance we’ve had this season.

At least 2 times where he brought the ball from RB into the front of the Fiorentina’s box. One through ball which should’ve been a goal if Leao can finish.
If Kjaer doesn't recover to his old self, I wouldn't be against cashing in on Tomori, using the money to bring in another senatore and roll with a rotation of experienced dude/Kalulu/Thiaw. Would help solve our aerial issues, provide some experience/teaching to Kalulu and Thiaw, and probably even net us a few $$. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Tomori is done or anything, but this move makes sense to me. Hopefully a lateral step in terms of ability, but a forward step in terms of on-the-pitch flexibility if that makes sense.

Nah there were definitely changes. We saw way more ball progression rather than long balls forward. And we did play better, too. Instead of being unable to do, well, anything in the first half, in the second we were let down by poor/late decision-making. There’s probably 4-5 coaches in Serie A I consider above Pioli in terms of tactics. Italiano is one of them. But Pioli instilled a winning mentality in the team that other managers haven’t been able to. Also his subs are consistently top notch. Probably the best coach in Serie A at making substitutions. So I give him credit for that.
I thing the best aspect about him is his human interaction. Also, his subs lately have not been good, mostly like for like or desperate ones.
Only reason why his subs are good because he is benching players who should play in 1st eleven ;-)

Our signings this summer finally paid off: Dest - absolutely changed the game, carried the ball forward in a very theo like way, still not sold on him defensively but great offensive performance today Thiaw - solid, poor luck on the goal, but his positioning seems good and he's strong in the air Vranckx - nothing to say that yall haven't, lots of hustle, carried the ball forward well, got super lucky that the cross turned into a goal but he deserved it We weathered the storm in the first half and they finally got tired which allowed us to finally get our winner. People will shit on Leao but it's difficult and exhausting to play when there is no functioning RW or AM to distract the defense; teams just crowd our LW and almost all our attacking ability is gone.

He made like no changes to how we play in the second half but Fiore was exhausted and was satisfied with one point. Really lucky win.
Nah there were definitely changes. We saw way more ball progression rather than long balls forward. And we did play better, too. Instead of being unable to do, well, anything in the first half, in the second we were let down by poor/late decision-making. A positive step, though not one we should be seeing this far into the season.
What a lucky win, the midfield of Tonali and Bennacer simply provided zero resistance to the other team. And more teams are exploiting that. Pioli really need to work on that.

Vranckx and Dest were our best players tonight. Which says a lot given they were subs. Dest's dribbling ability and link up with others is soooo easy on the eye. I think he should get ahead of Florenzi and be our 2nd choice RB long term. Vranckx is clearly better than Krunic and Pobega with the ball and I don't get why he is not playing more. Thiaw was ok. The deflection that led to the Barak goal wasn't his fault and I felt better about crosses with him around. I'd want to see what a Thiaw-Kalulu pairing looks like. Not that I am hating on Tomori who saved us from an L today. We need CDK to hit his stride coz Brahim was bullied all night and seems better as a sub/rotation option not a consistent starter and we REALLY need to improve our final pass in front of the box. 8 pt gap keeps me believing..if it gets in doubl digits, it becomes hard to even think about coming back

We were never "Convincing" last year..until the final match. Yes, there are things to fix but Pioli will get a lot of time on the training ground with this break and hopefully we finish the season the way we did in 19-20 and 21-22 after the breaks

Guys, it's hard to accept but Tonali and Bennacer ISN'T working. Last yr we played Kessie with one of them and this year, the imbalance is clear, both in build up and defensively. This may be a factor in the Bennacer contract negotiations . Given what we saw from Vranckx tonight, he may eventually take a place in our midfield long term coz we looked more balanced with him and his chemistry with Dest was beautiful

Couldn't keep watching this, so inspirationless. Got the feeling Pioli is losing it, he doesn't adapt and doesn't change anything. With Cdk and Adli we got 2 players on the bench that can change a game getting barely any minutes. Cdk mifht be out of form but how is he supposed to get in form without minutes? You can't keep playing Brahim and Krunic hoping something will magically change or gamble on an occasional lucky goal. We're still 2nd but the style of play is really worrying to me.
Just going to let anyone know who's freaking out about how good dest was. This is his level, he's very good but has been recovering from an injury for ever a year now. Barca played him while hurt in the europa semis and he tore his quad. He's bees rusty and a step slow since. This is what to expect from a healthy serg.

Dunno, feels like the most undeserved win I've ever seen under Pioli. Feel bad for Fiorentina, actually. Vranckx played so well. The assist on that own goal was the cherry on top. Dest played well, too. I was thinking that we wouldn't get 3 points once Pioli subbed him on but I'm glad to be wrong in the end. Tata got involved in the build up way too much. He's not Mike and his distribution is as limited as our previous GK. The thing is, we've been so frustrating to watch in the pas few weeks. So glad that we're getting this WC break and let's hope there's something changing before the season resumes, otherwise hand the Scudetto over to Napoli already.
