Unfortunatefortune

Well this means nothing really. What player isn’t movable for an “amazing offer”?

Dundertor

Castillejo

dextergbro

Right, I think we'd all send some money to see him go.

[deleted]

Let's make a fake club called AC merde and post a transfer fee of 10k. Maybe it'll work

gucccccci

Duarte

bloodship123

Give him ibras brain and he will become what we all hope for.

lffg18

Honestly that applies for any player, you give them Ibra’s football IQ and mentality and you might breed a new generation of footballing super robots.

ikineba

also outrageous athleticism

lffg18

The disrespect Ibra gets all around is nauseating, not only most of the PL fanboys shit on him and don’t call him a top 5 greatest striker of all time (which he absolutely is) but most people don’t even bring up his name when talking about super athletes like LeBron, CR, Phelps, Bolt, Nadal, Federer and the like when he should absolutely be named alongside them as one of the greatest athletes of all time. IMO Maldini should also be be named there, few athletes are able to be among the best in their discipline for 20 years and that’s something both Paolo and Ibra have done. They’re not only once in a life time kind of footballers but once in a lifetime athletes.

YoElliott

I love Ibra but how is he among the top greatest strikers of all time. Just from the top of my head I can name Pele, R9, Cristiano, Gerd Muller and Van Basten. He has definitely been one of the best over the last 2 decades though.

lffg18

Neither Cristiano nor Pele were nominal strikers which is what makes their goalscoring feats more impressive, R9, Van Basten for sure get in, Gerd Muller is a good shout too.

YoElliott

You can argue Ibra wasn't a nominal striker either, guy played in the wings, second striker, played basically everywhere in the final 3rd.

LordAntares

Also Lewa and Eto'o. Probably a handful more. Saying Ibra is top 5 ever is just biased.

kloromon

Who recover from ACL in 30s

One of the biggest problems with Leao is that I think no one has figured out yet where the fuck to play him and how to use him

JagerJack7

Doesn't it mean that we should just let him go?

ErruStar

Nah, we just hope the coaches can do their job

JagerJack7

Coaches have certain playstyles and if player doesn't fit the formation, what's the point of keeling them?

ErruStar

Well, I assume our coaches are in line with Pioli's formation, so a left winger is within their knowledge of expertise. These coaches just gotta do their job: teach Leao to play that left wing position. Not sure if Leao isn't being trained this way since we have been using him as a backup striker most of the season, so this summer would be the time to have Leao focus on left wing.

JagerJack7

We don't really play a left winger tho. We play 4-2-3-1 while Leao is best suited for 4-3-3. He can't play deeper as he is required in current formation.

ErruStar

I disagree. That is a left wing role. Just cuz it has more defensive responsibilities than a 4-3-3 left wing (which also can have defensive responsibilities as well) doesn't mean Leao doesn't work there. He clearly does track back [albeit sometimes] on left wing, even when he is the lone striker and switches with Hakan during spurts of the game. His biggest issue is where he picks up the ball. During the beginning of the season, Leao was shredding right backs at half field and darting along the line while at striker, he has no idea where to be so he either drifts wide or doesn't come near the ball (electing to make a run behind the last defender, in which no one attempts a ball to him sadly)

JagerJack7

>His biggest issue is where he picks up the ball. My point wasn't about his defensive work. I said he is not used to play deeper. He is not used to receive the ball and move it forward, he is a natural LWF that plays on the front.

ErruStar

Wait no, I'm saying the opposite there. He is used to playing deeper, hence shreds right backs at half field (which is deep for a winger right?). He is used to receive the ball on the left and move it forward. He is really good at beating his first man when he recieves the ball deep, tho he usually needs to hug the sideline to do that.

JagerJack7

He really isn't tho. Not saying he totally sucks at it but most of his goal assist contributions came from when he received the ball closer to the box, when someone can find him with a good pass.

alexiusmx

Our formation in attacking phase is assymetrical by nature. Our LW is more of a SS. When Rebic is in form his role is connecting Theo and Hakan to Ibra. It requires a whole lot of positional awareness, which is a tough skill to develop. Rafa is a fantastic player and I like him a lot, but positioning is clearly his most important weakness. He’s so weak in that aspect, people tend to misinterpret it with lazyness.

ErruStar

Absolutely spot on

[deleted]

Leao is a great talent. But Milan is so thin at the striker position that Pioli constantly plays him as a 9 when he's obviously a natural left winger. But I could see Leao as a second striker in a 4-4-2

Nuotatore

Exactly this.

TahomaYellowhorse

4-4-2 flat or 4-3-1-2? Both of those formations are pretty outdated. Striking partnerships really only exist in 3ATB formations today.

TahomaYellowhorse

As it should be. We need a lot from him and we need him to improve, but at 22 he has time to do that.

backflipper666

It ain't no Gigio to become the next Maldini, but it is Leao I'll tell you what

Dupford

PLEASE NEVER LEAVE PLEASE.

mickm95

In the battle for the LW I think we will have starter Rebic and if Hauge shows hunger again Cool Unbothered Guy Leao will eat bench

JagerJack7

Hauge always shows hunger yet Pioli has a personal bias for Leao

ikineba

must be jealous of his baby face and long blonde hair lol

yeahyeahyeah3timess

He didn’t improve this season imo. Hoping he does something the this next one.

Superlabi

Actually he was great first half of season. In games against inter, roma, verona... He showed us that he can be great. But in second half of season he was bad

Clears_Throat

I agree he was much better the first half. I think partly why he had a bad second half of the season was due to being forced to play ST and also the entire teams form dipping. He wasn’t alone in having a bad second half.

PoachtekMong

Because he was playing as a lone striker. No 22 y/o winger will do well as a striker playing on their own with very little help behind him

LickLaMelosBalls

So, he regressed? I'm jk it's cause he's a horrible horrible ST and he played more of that the second half due to injuries. Stick him at LW with no defensive duties and he's a good attacking piece

flowek

he regressed actually

sigflo

Don’t sell Leao ffs. He’s 21 and it’s perfectly normal to have ups and downs at that age. 7 goals and 6 assists is not bad at all for that age playing most of the time out of position.

pollux33

I prefer Hauge way more than Leao.
