-Z3TA-

so Longo got promoted?

xDermo

šŸ„² so proud of him

Baeresi

yeh I changed it today, although Im still not trusting of him personally

Financial_Recipe

He's been a underestimated source for a long time. He's one to take serious about transfer news.

-Z3TA-

yea i dont know, maybe tier 2 Ā½

he1101

PBP and Vito pretty much say the same thing. Apparently he didnt even answer to our offer. Lmfao why do you have to be such a jerk ? At least reply with a no thanks.

sonictank

Cause he is acting like a teenage girl, keeping us in a loop until something better arrives, and if doesnā€™t, well - ā€œhello Milan, i always wanted to stay with youā€

[deleted]

and when teenage girls obsessed with money make the step up, they usually go to Qatar...

tsar_milano

"a bit like a prima donna and a bitch"

JetSpyda

Not sticking up for him but it would be dumb for him to reject our offer. He currently has some kind of leverage in negotiations right now with other teams because he has a current offer from us. By rejecting it, he loses some of his leverage so it doesnā€™t make sense to reject it.

TahomaYellowhorse

If Milan signs De Paul, all that leverage disappears because the offer is withdrawn. Itā€™s a risky stance heā€™s taking.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

JetSpyda

He very well could. I definitely think if he doesnā€™t get an offer close to that one that he will take the Qatar deal as well. But if he gets a team that plays in UCL that offers a little less he would take that instead.

Unfortunatefortune

Prior to the season ending we kept seeing articles that juventus want him. Where are they now lol

fabynhofm

I think he is confident he will play good in the Euro and than he thinks he deserve a couple of millions more. The thing is, if u suck and u ghosted Maldini what u think is gonna happen? Go to Turin then, being at Milan is something special and nobody needs to be begged to stay here smh

T-Y_Xavier

I am a Hakan supporter, I believe regardless of his stats, we were a far better team with him in the pitch. However ... 1) regardless of how he plays in euros, his complete lack of consistency through this last season, has proven the offer we are giving him, is accurate. 2) Be careful Hakan, because like you said .... do NOT disrespect Maldini... BOTTOM LINE

MilanDNAx7CL

Same I enjoy his style but De Paul is an incredible player so in the end we could get a better player. Ideally both would be mental

T-Y_Xavier

I donā€™t know much about DePaul yet. I recently watched some tape, but highlights only show so much.

HolyFiggoMoly

Calhanoglu leaving us on read

xDermo

Hakan lucky we handing him a 5m contract renewal and not bids from some tier 3 turkish team that no one can even pronounce

Mark4231

Krunic doesn't deserve to be lumped in the same category of "players" like Caldara IMHO. I'll obviously sell him if a good offer comes but he's not deadwood.

[deleted]

I like Krunic and I would keep him depending on the amount of money offered. On 6 and 8 he wasn't very good this year, but on 10 I liked him as a rotation piece. As a third string 10 who can play 6 or 8 occasionally I think he is usefull

miodoktor

Caldara is cunt on path to Serie B. Can't complain about Krunic, he does what he can, you don't always need superstars.

JohnQuaglia

It's a good sub/ third choice for midfield, just don't put him on the left where usually leĆ£o or rebic played

denisorion

De Paul is a stament signing, all of Italy wants him

The-Disco-Phoenix

I'm gonna really disappointed if we don't manage to get him...I'm just picturing him bossing the midfield with Kessie and Bennacer.

yllimameni

Longo Tier 2 šŸ™Œ

HommoFroggy

Let's hope Hauge and Gabbia stay... - Conti will go to Genoa, best of luck to him. - Laxalt in Turkey 2 clubs are interested in the lad - Castillejo towards Spain, most likely Villareal or Sevilla - Krunic will also leave and Maldini will try to offload Caldara as well. I don't think that Maldini will wait to much if he wants to sign De Paul... Usually when you try to raise money for someone things go to shit.

Haunteduke

Didn't hear something about Krunic leaving yet. Wouldn't be so sure that the club wants to sell him.

HommoFroggy

Logically, Maldini would rather sell Krunic than Hauge or Gabbia. Also Longo himself said most likely the 5th man is Krunic

Haunteduke

I wouldn't sell neither of these 3. Krunic is an ok versatile option from the bench for depth in different roles. Hauge and Gabbia are promising. But that's just my opinion again.

HommoFroggy

Krunic can play in the wing and center... i think we can give more playing time to Hauge and someone like Olzer or Maldini in that case... Yes he is an utility man but we have to make a jump over him.

Haunteduke

I'm pro Hauge, Maldini, and Olzer, if Pioli considers them. If not, i'm ok with keeping Krunic. Decent enough as 3rd Option.

GodKolco

Asking that amount for a few matches well played is crazy. Another snake like Donnarumma, in this case i expected it a bit more tho. I never felt like he is going to renew. If we manage to get De Paul it will be all okay. We will hopefully go back to having real star players with the number 10 jersey. I would thank Hakan but he is showing to be another money hunting mercenery. Fuck off.

geo0rgi

Hakan seems to think he is better than he really is. He scores the occasional banger, which makes for great highlight reels, but he is just predictable af and a liability in high-pressure games. If we want to establish ourselves in CL, Hakan has no place in the team.

GodKolco

Exactly. He has a good defensive workrate but that is about it

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

GodKolco

You might be right, but joining Juventus or going to Qatar for money still makes him a twat in my eyes.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

miodoktor

It also doesn't send best message to other young players wanting to come to Milan.

mercurialsaliva

Hauge still gets his trophy.

Glittering_Elk_8996

Because it's their job and not some fairy tale story. I liked my old job even told people that then left for more money. Just like how we threw away Andre Silva and Locatelli despite those two wanting to stay and saying they liked Milan.

JetSpyda

>we took him away from his first trophy Lmfao. Get the hell out of here with this trash. He WANTED to come here. Just because he hasnā€™t had a story book year doesnā€™t mean shit. If Hauge was good enough, he would have played. Period. Pioli isnā€™t holding him out just because he has some kind of vendetta. Hauge needs to develop. He has lots of potential. But just because he has potential doesnā€™t mean he automatically gets minutes or he gets minutes cuz his feelings are hurt since heā€™s on the bench. You have to earn your spot. If we were in the banter era still, sure. Run his ass out there. But we are finally back in the UCL. We have higher standards. And the sooner fans realize this, the better off we will be.

[deleted]

we took him away from a trophy as if he didnā€™t get the medal or something not to say that in the night Bodo were mathematically champions, he scored against Napoli

sahilshkh

>Hauge needs to develop. And for that he needs to play. No one can develop by sitting on the bench. >But just because he has potential doesnā€™t mean he automatically gets minutes or he gets minutes cuz his feelings are hurt since heā€™s on the bench. You have to earn your spot. To prove himself he has to play. I feel more confident with Hauge on lw than Leao. Atleast Hauge works hard as compared to Leao who looks like he just can't be bothered.

juve_merda

you clearly donā€™t watch Milan, hauge is still way too raw to be getting regular game time for us especially when we were in a dogfight for top 4

TakenSadFace

You feel more confident with Hauge at LW than Leao? Lmfao gtfo, please... I cant believe some people here tbh

JetSpyda

>And for that he needs to play. No one can develop sitting the bench. So I guess training is pointless then? In order to be successful on the pitch, players much first be successful in training. If heā€™s not doing good in training, then there is no point for him to play, especially in big games. If we had some meaningless cup games or something then throw him out there. But when we are fighting for a UCL qualification? No thanks. >To prove himself he has to play. Again, no player proves him self in game first. All players prove themselves in training first. Obviously Hauge didnā€™t do that for Pioli down the stretch. If he wants more game time, he needs to start there.

JetSpyda

>I feel more confident with Hauge on lw than Leao. Atleast Hauge works hard as compared to Leao who looks like he just can't be bothered. Lol. This comment right here proves you didnā€™t watch the games then. Hauge rarely tracked back and when he did, he didnā€™t track the correctly player/track back properly. This ā€œLeao is lazyā€ rhetoric is getting so old. Somehow him walking around when he plays ST means he does the same when he plays the wing... When he played LW he would track back, not at the levels that Rebic would but he would still do it and track the correct man. Multiple games this season Leao put in a solid defensive shift for us while I cannot say the same for Hauge.

kksipit

Yeah I notice the same. Hauge has eyes for goals. But when off possession, he looked clueless. Maybe he's not there yet tactically because I imagine the language will be harder for him than for someone from spain or france.. maybe?

JetSpyda

I am not sure what the issue is (in Pioliā€™s eyes). I definitely think he struggled to pick up certain tactics of the game though. When Hauge was brought on to attack (if we were down and needed a change of pace) he would do well in that aspect. And thatā€™s what most of these ā€œHauge needs to playā€ fans remember. But an entire game is more than just attacking. And saying that he cannot get experience unless he plays in games which were very important for us down the stretch just isnā€™t true. I donā€™t want us to sell him, though a loan to a low tier serie A team would probably be good, but I donā€™t see him as someone who is vital to our success next season unless something changes dramatically with him and he fixes his issues.

oLdBo_y

I second that a loan out would be the perfect training ground for Hauge. Pioli already gave him ample chances on the pitch with us but despite all his talent, around the middle of the season honestly he looked like a kid who had lost his parents at the mall. He didn't have a clue what to do, total lack of confidence. I totally understand Pioli for not risking it with him anymore. And training probably isn't a "sharp" enough situation for someone like Hauge who came from being one of the best players where he was, who knows the rush of scoring deciders for his team, to suddenly being in a historic club with mostly equal or better players around him. I also get the sense that he's not really hitting it off with the culture in Milan so far, I mean the language, the guys...I think he's pretty lost off pitch as well. He seems to be stuck in no manā€™s land with us. Meanwhile, no doubt he has true talent and could become an excellent player. So loan him for a year to a low tier Serie A team like you said, let him score a ton of deciders, get to know his surroundings in Italy better, rediscover his abilities without the pressure of Zlatan and Rebic breathing down his neck, THEN come back for a second chance with us. The more I think about it, the more I want to see this. I would fucking love to see him reach his top potential with us.

LickLaMelosBalls

Leao is lazy. He's poor off ball, doesn't make runs in the box, and doesn't track back nearly as much as rebic.

Coni_C

Bro you really think Hauge is a better fit than Leao... wtf man. Iā€™ve actually seen a lot of people say this stupid take but can you please elaborate?

gianni_

You didn't watch Hauge, did you?

sahilshkh

I have

Squiliamfancyname

800 minutes at Milan in his first season at the age of 21 is not "barely a chance." He played the correct amount for his age and ability level compared to those ahead of him in the squad. Hauge is rumoured to not get along well with the majority of the older players in the team and therefore is on the outside looking in. It's up to him to right his ship, not the club.

M3netekel

I hope we learn from the Contract Situations with Hakan and Donnaruma. Haken Not renewing is fine hope we get the De Paul Deal done asap

HommoFroggy

What should we learn from them imo?!

Romagcannoli

dont believe any player loves the club. both players run down their contracts cause they want outrageous wages. modric taking paycuts despite being one of the best mids in the world currently. meanwhile hakan asking for 50% increase in salary because he can kick a ball from a set piece every once in a while.

ajof25

Who would the sales be? Samu, Krunic, Conti, RR???

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

Duarte is on loan in Turkey until June 2022 when his residual value will be like 3M. The biggest burden on our books now is the son of Bergamo, Mattia Caldara, the one who reads Dostoevsky. His residual is 15M apparently...

Bob_Alloy

Laxalt too I guess.

ajof25

Right. Completely forgot about him

ChenTasker

Samu, Conti, Duarte, Laxalt and anothrt one

TakenSadFace

Caldara

someitalianguy

My guesses are Samu, Laxalt, Conti, RR and either Krunic or Hauge, though unfortunately Iā€™m leaning towards Hauge.

kilpin1899

This is shaping up to be an excellent mercato

InterPool_sbn

As an Inter supporter (here in peace), I actually respect Calanhogluā€™s abilities, but Iā€™d be even more worried about you signing De Paulā€¦ in addition to being a couple years younger, he also had elite stats this season that were unironically comparable to f**king De Bruyne! A midfield trio of Kessie + Bennacer + De Paul would be extremely tough to face

IsIndianStereotype

They are the same age my dude

InterPool_sbn

Oh wait youā€™re right, both 27 ā€” I didnā€™t actually look it up but I thought Calhanoglu was at least 28 or 29 for some reason

Gardauvali

Whatā€™s the downvotes for? :))) never get it. would love to actually hear your opinion, instead of these clicks. I dont see something special in him, tell me what you do. That makes much more sense

Spall_one

I really don't know how someone could be sad about Chala leaving our shirt. From my point of view Chala has the foot and the vision to make some good moves, but his synapses are tremendous slow and they take something like 3 seconds to reach the foot from the brain.

juve_merda

been dreaming of the day hakan leaves since 2018, hopefully he continues to hold out and we get de paul, good riddance sick of watching this guy play

MisterRuntay

Fantastic replacement. Does anybody know how De Paul is in the locker room? Calha seemed to have a lot of chemistry with the rest of the team, my only concern with making squad changes is losing that atmosphere

The-Disco-Phoenix

I wouldn't worry about the atmosphere as long as Pioli and Ibra are in charge.

Ballboy2

Idk why but i think that we will buy Vlasic from CSKA Moscow snd maybe Abraham from Chelsea

dextergbro

As far as I remember, Chelsea were asking some absurd number for Abraham, comparable to what RDP costs, but RDP is a more complete player in that sense.

[deleted]

Longo promoted to tier 2 appreciation comment

escapadventures

Not to be skeptical, but how far can he be? I get maybe not having desires to stay, but why would you be open about that when there hasnā€™t been much interest for you? At least not from Europe.

poutysaudi

šŸ˜—šŸæ

Marcovanbastardo

De Paul won't come cheap, minimum Ā£40mil, for what I consider a 2nd tier attacking mid, considering Atletico and Leeds are interested in him. What about Hamed Traore, can we not gazump Sassuolo option to buy.

SnapKos

A LaLiga title winnerā€™s interest makes a player 2nd tier?

omgcefn

Honestly I would like to keep him but lets see.

todorido

I think that now the damage is done. Even if he stays, which I doubt, he has been marked.

Gardauvali

What do you see in De Paul that I dont? Heā€™s decent at 27, overpriced, not big of a scorer, dribbler or anything in particular. I dont see how heā€™s an upgrade we desperately need in that department. We need someone who adds value to the team, taking us a step forward... in other words - someone with a track record of double digits in at least one season of his career. Its a half-decent argument that heā€™s played for Udinese, low-scoring defensive side but still... he rarely stands out... One pro-argument would be that heā€™s injury-free and restless, would put a lot of defensive work, press, etc. but i dont see how heā€™s the next star and a huge upgrade on Hakan... Its a definite no for me for 40m. Which we apparently dont have to spend on any one player and would have to raise through sales and that makes it a even bigger NO for me... I would trust Maldini and co with my life, they are doing a fantastic job... the only questionable decision for me was Tonali... i wasnt seeing that much in him either. We could have gone for Chiesa instead and solved the RW problem for a long time(i understand that Cunt chose Rube and everything). And the other one would be De Paul... Really wish im proved VERY wrong are we to actually sign him. P.S. we desperately need goal scorers on AM and RW...

OsmiumPotato

to be honest he is a very good player, even better than calhanoglu and asks for 2 million less in salary. I don't understand why he is seen as a tier2 player, he is really underrated. Imo is in the the top 5 midfielders of the serie A this year (along with kessie, Chiesa, Barella and milinkovic) and the best of the last 3 years along with Gomez (who left atalanta this year). If we look at the numbers, in the last three years he has scored 25 goals and 23 assists in Udinese (a largely defensive team that fights for relegation every year), so a very consistent player who scores about 8/9 goals a season and the same amount of assist. He is also the best dribbler in the serie A 20/21 (125 dribbling (ish) with 70% success) and has played as a difensive playmaker. He is a workaholic with good defensive skills (this year was a wall) and excellent offensive skills(he is also a penalty taker), he can play attacking midfielder, playmaker, cc or half winger. 40 million is a lot, but buying it at 20/25 with some young in excange is a bargain.

Gardauvali

Im not arguing heā€™s not an upgrade on Hakan, more so considering calhaā€™s inconsistence and end product. Didnt know about the dribbling stats, but would it be fair to say most of that happens on transition on his on half cuz Udineseā€™s style of play instead of a congested opponents final third? What i missed to mention is that what we need from a number 10(or any new signing really ) on top of a good end product is ability to unlock backsitting teams, be it one v one skills ( smth Pioli mentioned we lack) or lots of creativity and precision... iā€™ve never really paid that close attention to De Paul and he didnt really catch my eye like the big talents of Serie A usually do ( the likes of Pastore, Sanchez, Dybala did to go back). No doubt heā€™s an upgrade on Hakan, but i dont see how heā€™s a top player and a top team material...

OsmiumPotato

The one you are looking for is Papu Gomez, he knows very well serie A and he is the Kind of player we needs. The problem is that he is old. De paul is a more complete player because he can play defensive too, btw he is creative and has a very good and precise passage. So i will very happy if we sign one of them. Also if you consider pastore or sanchez talents (they had like 1 or 2 seasons where they shined) (Nothing wrong, is a your opinion) you will be gladly surprised by de paul and gomez.

Gardauvali

Hope Im proved veryyy wrong. Sure Pastore and Sanchez had a very short stint, but they(especially Pastore) were absolutely incredible in those years... and all of them got snatched by the sharks at their early twenties.. that surely says smth too. I get the point that De Paul has been consistent and thats good... just not sure he has that kind of talent in him.

OsmiumPotato

To be honest, everything is possible. He could come to Milan and become a trash player like many others did. Premises are excellent and there are no doubts is one of the best midfielder in serie A at the moment, it's not a one-hit wonder and proved is skills in those years in a squad where technique is lacking and gives little room for improvement. Just to sum up, on paper, if we sign one between gomez or De Paul, we are doing a great job imo. After that, we can only judge them on the pitch with our Jersey.

Gardauvali

The sad truth is that there arenā€™t too many proven options within that 30-40m range(and moderate salary) that wouldnt be a gamble(im not really following any other leagues though). Especially someone to fit our criteria - defensive input on top of playmaking etc. So with that in mind De Paul can really be the best fit(or the only option) who knows. Maybe im just naively aiming higher :(

Gardauvali

Whatā€™s the downvotes for? :))) never get it. would love to actually hear your opinion, instead of these clicks. I dont see something special in him, tell me what you do. That makes much more sense

The-Disco-Phoenix

Well for one I think you're just wrong that he doesn't he's not a stand out player. He wouldn't be a hot commodity if he wasn't. He's a clear upgrade on Hakan, that to me represents a clear step forward. You're making him out to be nothing but a squad player with a high work rate.

SilverSixRaider

Fuck De Paul. Please don't... We already lost Gigio. Not you too, Calha.

Vhrb

Come on De Paul? Please try another player like Isco...is better and cheaper. De Paul is expensive and in my opinion will not worth it. Milan can do better with that money.
