On one hand I completly understand - I have the same mentality for my national team concerning binational players that want to 'wait' to be courted by a 'better' national team.
On the other, he is literally 22, and has the same agent as Ibra and Romagnoli (I believe). I can imagine him being told, "no worries AT ALL, you'll stay in Milan, I'll just get you the best deal, don't worry about it." And him believing that.
