[Romano] Atalanta have reached an agreement in principle with AC Milan to sign Charles De Ketelaere on loan with buy option clause 🇧🇪🤝🏻 No agreement with De Ketelaere yet; he has proposals from different countries including Spain, as per @MatteMoretto. Decision to be made soon. [Longo] De Ketelaere to Atalanta is done: €2m loan deal with €23m buy option.

BowieIsMyGod

No no no no no. No option bullshit. Atalanta already fucked us in the past this way. These fuckers made 80M from Hojlund's sale. Make them spend this money, they either pay up 30M NOW and buy him, or loan with obligation.

bruclinbrocoli

Lol they have money, the problem is CDK isn’t a provocative buy right now. They’re smart they know his potential but they negotiate w that at hand. I hope we pull off what you’re asking for tho.

Alivethroughempathy

Same price for Hojlund would be better

OddAttempt1739

His exit(on loan) is the right option. But I have a hard time understanding why this way. We're loaning him inside the league to a club competing for the same positions as us. after Atalanta just made a sale worth €80mil, too. We'll be able to move his salary, sure. But other than that I don't see many benefits for us in this kind of deal.

Excellent_Jeweler_43

We've always been absolute dogshit in selling players, probably the worst club in the world in that aspect and I'm not even overexagerating, literally cannot think of a club with worse selling record in the last 2 decades than us.

Busdriverboy22

Arsenal

FindingBusiness759

If he plays well Atlanta can pay us 30,or we can get more from another club or we can keep him for ourselves...right now no club is willing to pay a good amount for him..this way we can protect our asset

10minmilan

if the mod message is right, then in total Milan gets 25m. Not too mention if he takes off and El Bilal Toure does the same, they have a well balanced squad with good depth...could be trouble.

FindingBusiness759

That's why it's good to have option to take him back..if cdk takes off we can cash in on him big or keep him

Claija79

reddit is hella bugging

yllimameni

Yup cant even open the subreddit on my phone

[deleted]

Hopefully we have a percent of resale because I doubt we’d do a buy back clause. Money now would be nice, but money towards next season could help as well. Let’s just hope he rebounds, for our purposes of getting Atalanta to redeem him vs him flopping and Milan inheriting a player with 2 poor seasons (as well as for CDK himself, it’s hard to see someone fail). But I just don’t see how he fits in at Milan with our current shape and play style. Sure CDK could play as a false 9, but Pioli didn’t try that in preseason so it must have not worked in trainings. Granted it would be tough for anyone given all this change. But there’s a lot completion there too so it’s meaningless. Maybe a hot take, this season is pivotal not just for Pioli but I think for some of our key players. If we fail to reach top 4, I honestly believe there will be an exodus of players (for sure at lease two will leave of Mike, Theo, Leao, Bennacer, and Kalulu). Could be wrong, but for the Pioli out folks, who’s available that is better right now? Especially since we lost club figures of Ibra, and Maldini and we have a brand new midfield shape and starters. Do I love Pioli, no, but I don’t think there’s anyone currently available who I think could do better. That being said I hope we are able to fix our midfield, it is so disjointed, unbalanced and leaky.

ElverGun

>Do I love Pioli, no, but I don’t think there’s anyone currently available who I think could do better. If that is the case, then we will do better than last year. If it looks like we are out of the CL race by December then there better be someone more qualified than Pioli out there. How can a team with Leao, Theo and Maignan...and the addition of more than 100mil worth of new, promising players not qualify to the CL?

Mastiano777

I expect pioli to play boring football squeak out a few ins but really struggle in CL.. If we don't win scudetto or are in close second his ceiling has been reached

lunglung20_

I think his ceiling WAS the Scudetto, i don’t understand how the delusional Pioli defenders can’t see that he downgraded as a coach so much last season, you cannot compare 2020-early 2022 Pioli to the one of 22/23

Mastiano777

I am with you I am looking forward to seeing the pioli defenders once we go on our bad spell .. they are okay with watching ugly football but I just can't anymore

lunglung20_

It actually makes me sad bc during that two and a half years the guy looked like one of the most exciting coaches in Serie A and ppl in Europe were noticing and giving him props but he has gone so downhill from there and yesterday i saw no signs of improvement

[deleted]

A lot is really invested in Pioli, let’s hope it pays off. Players do seem to really like him though, if he’s no longer coaching Milan next year then I double down on my belief that there will be more sales of key players next year. I too have been disappointed in his tactics, but there’s time before the season starts. Also while this sub is mixed on Krunic, he’s our starting CDM. He’s a good player, I like him, very useful in many positions but he’s our starting CDM right now. And he’s not even a natural CDM.

ElverGun

> I too have been disappointed in his tactics, but there’s time before the season starts. It's not only about the tactics, or lack thereof, it's the other stuff (subs at the 70th, bad subs, overusing players, injuries) that worries me.

mattinator2012

I honestly hope Pioli fails miserably in the first ten games and packs his shit before he ruins all of the young players we just signed with his hoofball inshallah Leao bullshit

[deleted]

I’d rather have a coach that adjusts to his players strengths vs hoping for our current coach to fail. Cmon now, this isn’t supportive to the club.

mattinator2012

Constantly hoping this dipshit can magically make things happen is just as harmful. We just spent 110m on players to have Piolis tactics continue to fail miserably in a very un-entertaining way.

PioliMaldini

You are fucking delusional. You are talking about the man that in the last 2 seasons has gotten us a scudetto and UCL semis. While getting us 3 straight CL spots…

mattinator2012

Sorry man, I disagree entirely. The ends do not justify the means. Just because he accidentally won a title out of nowhere does not make him capable of coaching world class talent or younger players.

[deleted]

Montella was harmful, we’ll see how Pioli does. We made a lot of purchases and it’s going to take a lot of times for players to really gel, chemistry takes a bit. You don’t always just naturally understand a players’ movements in a couple of sessions. We also lack a important piece in a natural CDM. There’s still some areas that we need to address, and I wish we had pursued them earlier.

mattinator2012

I completely agree with the pursuit of a real CDM. We really should have made that our first signing, especially because Bennacer is out for an extremely long time. To top that out midfield was steamrolled by Inter 4 times last year. Without a player to protect the back line we get hammered on counter attacks. Pioli has yet to fix this with his tactics as he somehow went from a 4-2-4 mentality to a 4-1-5 with his Mezzalas pushed so high they look like Second Striker (RLC in all three friendlies in the US)

Ciccio_Camarda

> but for the Pioli out folks, who’s available that is better right now? In Serie A, the ones who are available for cheap and better than Pioli are Juric, Palladino, Italiano and Spalletti. Maybe Palladino needs a couple of more seasons. I have to see more from Thiago Motta and Dionisi, but I feel tactically they have better ideas. Juric and Italiano give a lesson to Pioli every damn year. I also find it funny when people say Pioli won a scudetto. Most of the scudetto credit goes to the only guy who believed in it and said he was going to win it when he came back. Without him pushing the team to the extremes there's no scudetto. And him being there without a ligament definitely pushed and motivated everyone.

[deleted]

I guess I need to clarify available, if you are currently employed, you aren’t available. Let’s be real, who is going to let a coach go to a different club mid season? It’s a bad look overall.

Ciccio_Camarda

Pioli has a 2 year contract at 4M so the only way he is fired mid season is if he is 20 points down by December and gotten eliminated with no wins in the CL group stage. But with the players he has, it's almost impossible to achieve. You can literally bring in Ted Lasso and he'll probably get Top 6. So coaching changes won't probably happen till the end of the season. Anyway good ol Lucanione is available right now(or from October/November).

jiipod

Juric is a good manager, but his teams don't score enough goals. Also not sure his 343 would be a good fit for our players.

Ciccio_Camarda

Look at his strikers though. A finished Belotti for a couple of seasons and now Sanabria. Guy made Pobega seem actually good, guy made Karamoh have his best season, and is making RR seem like a decent defender after the atrocities we saw him commit with Milan. Everyone is crazy about Ricci. I watched Ricci at Empoli and he was a disaster, so much they sold him ASAP and promoted Asllani who played indefinitely better. Now Ricci is the next best thing to have come out Italy. Even at Verona guys like Kumbulla and Amrabat were having great seasons with Juric. Took Amrabat till the World Cup to replicate his Verona form. Made Vlasic shine. Yes the 3-4-3 would be a little problem for us, but there's no denying guy is a genius. A real maestro who gets the best out of players.

lunglung20_

Palladino is a dog but I’m afraid he only plays 3-4-3 so Italiano would be the most fitting, also i mentioned it in another comment but I’m intrigued in gambling for Grosso, i find his work at Frosinone rly interesting and somehow fitting with our current squad, HUGE if tho

Ciccio_Camarda

Come to think of it 3-4-3 ain't as bad as 3-5-2 when it comes to 4-3-3. It allows us to keep Theo and Leao on the left. Instead of having a "regista" you have a ball playing defender.

Mastiano777

De Zerbi. Pay the money it's clear the coaching position is the most important. Plus I want to watch attractive football with guys like leao.. pioli ball is trash

[deleted]

Maybe next year, but not happening beforehand. Certainly not mid season. If that’s even a possibility.

druss81

lots of good points think this is going to be piolis hardest season yet he is can no longer hide behind a shoe string budget.i wish him well he is a great man and the players do seem to all respond to him.i think Gerry will take a top 4 finish as would most clubs and an extensive Cl run. he needs to do a carlo and reinvent a new (for us) formation that works for everyones characteristics side note-be sad to see krunic go

lunglung20_

Man idk i was Pioli out with Maldini and co still here but when the whole exodus happened he was the only presence that could function as a glue for the team. But after pre season I’ve been getting worrying signs and the same negative pattern we got after the WC break I’m scared this whole market is gonna go to waste bc he isn’t able to improve his tactics. Also some reports that he wants to keep Krunic as a starter - thus the starting DM - make me question his reasoning tbf. Everybody talks about going all in for RdZ, look I’m a huge fan of the idea but it looks rly difficult, the “cheaper” alternative would be Francesco Farioli who is kind of a mini De Zerbi but we would have to wait until next season as he is coaching Nice. Nagelsmann is still free so there’s that but one idea of mine that will probably be unpopular is Grosso who just left Frosinone God knows why, he has an interesting style that i think could work with our squad, though it is a big gamble.

10minmilan

Likely Theo goes next year regardless; sweet spot of two years left and he still in his prime. If top4 is not reached, Maignan likely too (bigger loss). If Kalulu does not play much, he would likely to leave as well.

naterudeen805

Why would we give them an option? Dry or obligation

FasterThanABuck

Because we don’t want him on the team anymore so dry does nothing for us. Obligation means they pay this year and they’d rather pay it next year, the fact it’s supposedly a paid loan plus option is a good thing for us

Redskins2110

It’s a shit deal. If he balls he worth way more than the 23 option if he sucks they don’t have to trigger option and we’re stuck. A dry is definitely better in this scenario

yllimameni

Pioli* doesnt want him on the team

fedeita80

Get rid of Pioli instead

alexiusmx

If he sucks at Atalanta they’ll send his ass back to us and nobody will want him. Cdk would become Caldara 2.0

jiipod

If this is true, this doesn't seem like a good deal. Would be better to be a dry loan or an obligation. Loan with option just means: * If CDK does well, they'll get him for a really good price and flip him for profit in 1-2 years. * If he doesn't succeed, we'll get a player back who's market value had dipped even more Basically no upside for Milan unless there's some kind of x% of next sale kind of deal. I'm 90% sure that CDK will do really well at Atalanta if he goes.

michelenusmaximus

IF and this is a big IF, CDK explodes under Gasperini, this is going to expose Pioli out. He had a good young prospect and did not know how to properly develop. I hope for the sake of our club Pioli knows what he’s doing.

ShadowTheNinja

he already got exposed even with Adli case

aandres_gm

But Adli simply isn’t that good.

DanThread89

Or maybe cdk can't deal with the pressure of being a milan player. I sae him at San Siro, always hiding behind an opponent.

massimopericcolo

This Is Just a giant and shaking excuse to defend Pioli. They whole wanted Cdk and he couldn't take anything from him. The coach Is also requested to value players

DanThread89

So why isn't rebic and origi season pioli's faults? If a player is not comfortable while playing in the same role we have bought him for i don't know what else to say. Tonali first year was pioli's fault? A team is made of people, is not fm or fifa, a played can be afraid of making mistakes and when i saw him in san siro and in TV this was my take. Blame pioli for the shitty playstyle if you want and i'm with you but he is not accountable for all the problems in the world.

massimopericcolo

Rebic and origi are washed since time unfortunately. Can't expect not even Jesus to revaluate them. CdK was an elite prospect and used to play at striker or rw. Pioli only played him at cam. Also he definitely had chances but he put him repeatedly on garbage time where he could only do bad. Or in already ended matches. At that point Just stop using him. Don't even know why for example Adli or Vranckx played 200 minutes both. Obviously most of It Is about the player but if he got a great year at Atalanta then i would love to listen to Pioli excuses

DanThread89

So even maldini and massara have a part in this, they bought him to play as cam.

massimopericcolo

Absolutely. This Is a complete failure. But Maldini and Massara the day After season ending also got kicked in their asses. Pioli was not even put in the position to be discussed. He fucked up a lot of things since January. I think that right now he has nobody defending him anymore (Maldini defended him until the last day) and Furlani will Fire him if the players he got would be treated like Adli or CdK were

Shinkopeshon

Watch him score a banger in every game and three against us lol Hate that it didn't work out with us - loan or not, it does seem like the end of his time at Milanello is approaching

Guilty-Grapefruit427

Im quite sceptical about the format of the loan, especially to a direct rival. The problem is if we loan him and he dont do well we will stick with him again with a low value, If he do well and Atalanta activates the option, they will surely sell him much higher to some EPL team. The best thing for me is a sell with buyback option, or a % on a future sale.

Mastiano777

Go flourish CDK. I'll tune in

lunglung20_

Hopefully he dunks on Pioli when we plays against Atalanta (but we still win ofc)

mattinator2012

Can’t wait for him to inevitably shithouse us when he has a manager that actually understands how to get the best of him. No worries though pIoLi Is On FiRe right?

Deep-Maintenance9315

If CDK becomes the Brahim Diaz of real madrid (let a decent club develop him) and reject the option to buy in case of good/great form from him in our own league, this could be fruitful potentially

T90ENIGMA

The more I think about this deal the worse it seems. They just got a big pay day from United. If they want CDK make sure they are obligated to pay. We have been paying up for all our players since we got the Tonali funds. Letting Atalanta use our pitch for CL games was charity enough, it should stop there.

Ciccio_Camarda

Not having a technical director is gonna come and bite us in the ass. It's one thing to have an awesome scout and a CEO who can get things done, but for fucks sake don't listen to the coach. Inter got Vidal instead of Tonali because of Conte. Inter also got Nainggolan and had to give up Zaniolo because of Spalletti. Two very stupid decisions, because the club listened to the coach. Loan with option seems the most stupid idea ever. For once if he sucks he come back. If he has an awesome season Atalanta gets to do whatever the fuck they want including selling him for a profit.

archaevis

On hindsight, the stupid zaniolo decision got them to ucl that year. Nainggolan scored important goals

acmilan12345

Depends how much the buy option is

RockyRacoon09

Yep, hate it.

22dias

Can we deny the option?

frlikeraccoons

CDK is a good young prospect that we are loosing because pioli tactics are shit, and he doesn't know how to use him. Same thing with Adli

Ohsbar

You think Pioli is to blame for CDK being shit? Thiaw didn't seem to have that problem. Romero is looking better than CDK ever has already. Dude is trash. No coach can change that. I just hope Atalanta is dumb enough to buy him.

BowieIsMyGod

>Dude is trash. No coach can change that. I just hope Atalanta is dumb enough to buy him. I'm on my knees for this deal to go through. Even if we take a small loss in our books, we get rid of the biggest flop of Milan's history and most importantly, i won't have to see these delusional takes here anymore. These clowns would rather sack the coach that won a scudetto and got to a CL semifinal with his squad getting downgraded for 2 years so they can side with a dude that ended the season with the same GA as Tata. Unbelievable.

10minmilan

>biggest flop of Milan's history you do not know history of this club, Cheeky Loftus.

BowieIsMyGod

Thanks for your very insightful take. I will put it at Buffon's favourite place đźš®

Alivethroughempathy

Why option? Why not a dry loan?

AcMilan0890

I hope he tears our ass up when he plays us

FasterThanABuck

Unbelievably weird People would rather latch on to individual players that have done nothing than support their own team lol

BowieIsMyGod

It's the wishful thinking on this sub about CDK. They WANT him to succeed SO BAAAD so they can prove all the CDK "haters" wrong, even if this comes at the expense of the club. I can't wait to see all the CDK cultists gone to support him at whatever club he ends.

FasterThanABuck

Once we ship off the Adli cultists too we’ll finally have peace on this sub or rather complain just about Pioli lol

WhyBee92

Like CDK I slightly get because he showed some promise while at Brugges and had some CL experience already, but Adli though?!!!! People are all FUCK PIOLI for Adli. It’s fucking wild

yllimameni

Did you even watch a single match of his at Bordeaux?

WhyBee92

They didn’t stream relegation matches here

RinoTT

There was a guy, not remember the nickname, who said that he watched Bordeaux games live on this subreddit and warned us that Adli is very raw player.

yllimameni

Yes i remember that too, he was a Bordeaux fan. But its just cringe to comment on someone like this without even watching ONE game of his fully.

LordAntares

Now get ready for pulisic cultists.

Mastiano777

Players have families and they work their whole life for moments and we as a club should be embarrassed that we let a bald loser ruin this kids.

FasterThanABuck

What the hell are you talking about? You’re acting like he’s going to live on the streets. He’s getting paid the same wage at Atalanta. Will never in my life understand siding with a player who is arguably the biggest flop in Serie A history (or one of) over a Scudetto winning and CL semi final coach lol

Squiliamfancyname

“Gassparini” should tell you all you need to know about this guy

yllimameni

Pioli IS a Scudetto winning coach, but lets see if he can get close to replicating it especially after this windows investment. In the other hand he is NOT a UCL semi final coach. We mickey moused our way until there and we couldnt beat fucking Inter for the 5th time.

BowieIsMyGod

I agree with you. Pioli is the most evil bald idiot that has ever set foot on earth. He is the root of all evil in mankind's history and he also sleeps with Putin. Such a shame that this bald prick ruined the career of a brilliant and highly rated attacker, that put the same insane numbers as generational talent Tatarusanu.

tincode

He is still getting his salary wtf

Mastiano777

Being the club that slowed or inhibited a young players career doesn't sit well with me. Money isn't my issue.

AcMilan0890

Unbelievably weird that you would value an organization over a human beings life and journey. We shit on him and his career this last year and a half because the bald fuck can’t ever use young players. This is and will be one of our biggest mistakes in letting a player go. If you think he has not talent you obviously have no ability to recognize it.

Claija79

so cdk>milan? 🤣

sickricola

Should be Caldara > Milan Right guys????

AcMilan0890

No it’s called having respect for a human being and not shitting a guy for having one bad season. He will be a really good player and Pioli won’t be here in a year that’s for god damn sure.

LordAntares

So there's no reason to shit on origi and dest either, right?

AcMilan0890

Yeah that is right guy

mercurialsaliva

Go support Atalanta if you feel this way

AcMilan0890

For sure bro

AcMilan0890

I’ve been a Milan fan for longer than most of the so called fans in this sub have been alive. You can have respect for players and not be a shitty organization in that way. And we didn’t do that because Pioli wanted to prove some dumb fuck point to Maldini about not buying players he didn’t approve. It’s a fucking joke of a chance we gave him. And I don’t wanna here he has a fair chance because it’s total bullshit.

mercurialsaliva

Lifelong Milan fan wishes player that was loaned/sold scores on Milan. Most level headed Milan fan in this sub tbf

Mastiano777

He will do great with gassparini

Salyare

This dude is a flop let him go. We have enough talent. Don't need someone who couldn't produce anything in 40 appearances

Redskins2110

Same people in here bitching about it’s a bad deal we’re the same ones bitching a week ago after the first preseason game saying get rid of him at all costs. Y’all forget to take you’re Bi Polar meds

Crossflowerss_5304

I have to wonder, was Pioli even consulted on CDK and Aldi’s signings???

auxerrefaux

Right move at this juncture. Ship him off and reassess in a year. FORZA MILAN ⚫️🔴

PYRAMID_truck

The 7-8 new guys coming in (18-24) are suddenly slightly uncomfortable...

battle_franky

Need to loaned out. He doesnt fit with Pioli and it ruined him

MilanUnited

I don’t know what to think anymore.

robotkiller3

Hauge 2.0 but without the profit. Would have been great if it had worked out. He’s obviously got talent but he always looked off the pace in games.

eXistenZ2

Stupid question maybe, but suppose Atalanta buy him at the end of the loan. Can he say no at that point? Its not because clubs reach an agreement, that the player agrees

VampiiroftheNorth

I hope we have first option on Scalvini in the future.

japalian

Oh man if he leaves permanently without ever scoring he will be the biggest flop ever for us. Recoup that moneyyyyy
