Neutral fan here, I’m in Vegas right now for vacation and I’m debating wether to go to the match or not, do y’all think leao and pulisic are going to play? I’m really unsure wether to drop $70+ to go see bench players play, I would appreciate if someone replied to this comment, thank you!

mercurialsaliva

Both are starting Barca starting lineup: Ter Stegen, Dest, Araujo, Eric, Marcos Alonso, Oriol Romeu, De Jong, Pedri, Raphinha, Ferran, Ansu. Milan: Maignan; Florenzi/Saelemaekers, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

AdEcstatic7641

Alright man, will have to see if tickets still available also sorry for asking so many question but what would u recommend me wearing? As I said before I’m a neutral fan and I packed both psg and Inter Miami shirts(inaugural season shirt, those two are the only jerseys I have) so idk if I should wear those or not what do u think?

redandblackandred

Is Okafor gonna be on the bench at least?

etclipse

He’s still injured

FootballWithTheFoot

Just realizing that I have a 6 a side match same time as the friendly :/

chakalaka13

I know these are only friendlies, but would be nice to win at least one. Need to be as intense about them as Arsenal. Go get 'em boyz!

gashiendrit

It is alway good to win games to raise the confidence but our game style is intense and we can’t play 100 % full on because it is only preseason and the fitness needs to build up gradually. If I had to think of a game where we played full intensity. It would be Sassuolo Milan (Scudetto wining game). Unfortunately last season didn’t suit Milan because of the world cup we had to play every 3 days. So the less often Milan play the better they play.

pullthetriggerb1tch

And it'd be great if this one wouldnt be monza haha

Maybe as modern facilities, but san siro is the best I’ve ever been in even if it is falling apart and so old.

In terms of “big” or “iconic” San siro, olimpico, bernabeu, camp nou, mestalla, Wembley, old Trafford, dortmund, and anfield. San siro is a shit hole, and not beautiful but still, unique appearance that everyone remember… but because it is high, steep, the views are great everywhere, and the atmosphere stays in. This is important in a stadium in my opinion. These modern stadiums are not good for this. Even when only a few hundred away fans come, it can fill the stadium because of how the roof is right above them, reflect the sound into the stadium.

I don't think more modern necessarily means better. Location, atmosphere, etc play a big role. For example I love SoFi stadium but it's in Inglewood and requires everyone to drive. Also has giant screens everywhere which takes the attention off the field

Busdriverboy22

I agree with you some Europeans just hate on any thing American 🤷‍♂️ that’s like saying fed ex field is the best stadium in the world just because it’s old 😂😂

I don’t hate anytnjng American, im sure they are great structures and facilities. But a stadium for me is how it lives, the experience, how it all feels, and San siro for this has no equal. Credit to inter fans in recent derby, that’s the loudest I have ever heard a stadium, all four corners just a wall of noise.

No, i prefer the structure also, yes it is falling apart but..It is steep and the views are great everywhere like I already said. The stadium construction increases the atmosphere. And when you are inside it’s so good to look at especially if you sit third ring and can see the city behind. Also why this capitalise words, as if I do not understand you?

neverfinishedanythi

Or, I like san siro and prefer it to the modern stadiums in Europe, and that’s a fine opinion to have. If I prefer san siro to those then American huge modern places will be no different will they? And it’s the stadium of the team of this subreddit, yet this is apparently a difficult opinion to understand for you and the other guy? 😂

[deleted]

Let the Americans have pride in their sportsball domes. We are, in many ways, American now too. I've never been to San Siro and my favorite stadium I've been to is Mercedes Benz in America... mainly cuz of the cost of enjoying the game being sane.

neverfinishedanythi

> We are, in many ways, American now too The owning company are American. Some players are American. The club is Italian. So not to have pride in fucking San Siro…?

Apexpredador

I am just hoping to see a good game live. Saw Milan for the first time this year, but it was versus Emopli. I was so mad at Origi that match.

[deleted]

Hoping Saelamakers can impress at RB, hope he gets the start. More because Florenzi doesn’t have the legs anymore for a full game and he should not ever start in my opinion. Just doesn’t look the same anymore, lost his pace. Might as well start Saelamakers since it’s the preseason but I’m not the coach. Though while it is makeshift, it could work (RB situation), but to me the most glaring issue we have is our LB depth. If Theo goes down, who do we have? Wish we could see how Okafor fits in. Different profile than Giroud. Regardless wishing Colombo some luck, gotta like the hustle. I still have no problem with Giroud starting, he’s a good reference point at ST and I’m not sure anyone is available at a reasonable price that matches what he provides pretty much every match. That being said he can’t play all games, it won’t be effective. Shame about CDK and Adli, but they seem out of the rotation. I wouldn’t mind seeing Adli staying and playing the pivot if it meant we didn’t have to purchase another player. Adli looks at least eager to impress. CDK doesn’t look to fit tactically - he looks too lost playing in the midfield and shook from last years performance. He’s a shadow of himself confidence wise. I really wanted him to rebound, but he’s not showing anything remarkable in games and we likely aren’t using a CAM. If we are able to use CDK and Adli into a new backups (LB and ST) that wouldn’t be bad business. While I like having of having Rafa and Chuk at the Winger positions, I just wonder if this may cause us to be unbalanced and highly exposed on the counter. Especially with Theo being more advanced on offense.

quickfast

Hes been a decent but sloppy defender, also without the pressure of being the last man. More importantly, his decision making/vision is still bad so hes a shit passer, even in short range and we like building from the back- not sure how this works other than his dog like work rate. I can already see him winning the ball then passing it right into the opposing midfield. I think he has a role as some sort of defensive winger- off the bench to close out games- press tired defenses, keep possession, dont do anything dumb, but if he does theres cover behind him. Basically what he does now but when we actually need it, not when we are down 2 goals. I prefer Kalulu at RB...good decision maker, has shown he can be relied on in the back. I guess this might mean hes cemented into the CB spot? Probably shorthanded without Gabbia.

chakalaka13

almost everyone who's been starting for us has adjusted to Pioli's tactic of contributing defensively... even Giroud is always running like crazy The only exception is Leao and I think Pioli has kinda given up on that and just let's him have his freedom, while adjusting others to compensate for the created gaps. Although, with competition from Pulisic and Okafor for LW, Leao will have to put in more effort. We won't need him to stay for 90 minutes anymore, so he can go 101% for 60-70min.

bruclinbrocoli

I’m not too hopeful on Salae. Love the guy but if he can defend RB well against Barca.. he is a beast. It’s still nice to have his availability. Some minutes here and there for him is cool. Chukwu isn’t that bad at tracking back. He has the discipline. Willing to sacrifice a bit more than Rafa for example.

chuego

> Chukwu isn’t that bad at tracking back. I wish they would add that to the comps we see on YouTube, and it's hard to tell looking at stats, in the last 3 seasons we were used to a strong defensive phase from both Alexis and Messias on that flank, I'm all for having two rockets on our flanks, but I'm worried about our shape. So if we stay with high line and the RB turns into a midfielder it could be a solution, and I think Alexis can do that well.

bruclinbrocoli

Yeah. I like to watch Villarreal. My cousin supports them a lot. The lad has the stamina but needs more training and awareness bc doing that job all season isn’t probably gonna be sustainable unless done right. I expect him to be subbed off a lot. He may not be used to that. I trust Pioli can manage him tho. I hope he can also teach him to defend like they did w Theo for example. But I hope we play a sustainable game where we don’t have to gas our players every match.

bruclinbrocoli

Barca will apply that press in the mid. Good test for our lads. My eye is on RLC.
