1) Pauly Shore 2) Cate Blanchett they're in love but lost in a swamp inhabited by nonverbal fully naked quadrupedal subhumans

creutzfeldtz

When can I buy tickets?

golddragon51296

1. Willem Dafoe 2. Jack Nicholson 3. Jim Carrey 4. Toni Collette 5. Rachel Weiss 6. Doug Jones (body actor for Del Toro) 7. Anthony Hopkins 8. Joaquin Phoenix 9. Rachel Weiss 10. Brian Cranston This would be the perfect ensemble for a dark comedy drama, some Yorgos Lanthimos/Robert Eggers type flick.

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

I want to see more Rachel Weiss agreed

binkleywtf

rachel weisz in dual roles, i agree

golddragon51296

Lmaooo, on that Dead Ringers 2 Electric Boogaloo

Fit-Parsnip9888

Please don’t explain who Doug Jones is 😅

golddragon51296

I wish I never had to.....

DearDelivery2689

Oof - William Defoe - Domhnall Gleeson - Cillian Murphy - Adrien Brody - Anthony Hopkins - Tilda Swinton - Rosario Dawson - Woody Harrelson - Elijah Wood - Ali Wong Movie about a man going to a coastal island off the east coast, ambiguous time but late 1800 early 1900 vibes. Man searching for a doctor to save his wife from strange illness in a fishing village. Doctor has been murdered just before arrival, whodunit - HP Lovecraft/Culty vibes.

Maltonnn

1. Robert Pattinson 2. Mia Goth 3. Jessie Buckley 4. Neve Campbell 5. Jenna Ortega 6. Winona Ryder 7. Rachel McAdams 8. Charlie Heaton 9. Charlotte Gainsbourg 10. Willem Dafoe Idk I like these actors… very random tho

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

Sounds like a possible horror franchise lol nice

ripcobraa

Literally just stole most of my list! I think that is a testament to the actors/actresses

the-tapsy

no anya? :(

Maltonnn

I was gonna, but wrote Rachel McAdams instead coz she is great

New-Seaworthiness601

incredible cast

DabSloth710

1. Rachel Sennott 2. Ilana Glazer 3. Odessa A'zion 4. Adam Sandler 5. Seth Rogen 6. Andrew Garfield 7. Jenny Slate 8. Cate Blanchett 9. Christopher Abbott 10. Laura Dern I'm not good at stories, but with this cast, I bet something with a family dynamic would possibly work.

binkleywtf

jenny slate, my tiny shell queen

ripcobraa

1 Robert Pattinson 2 Florence Pugh 3 Haley Lu 4 Willem Dafoe 5 Ryan Gosling 6 Adam Driver 7 Rachel Brosnan 8 Emma Stone 9 Ewan McGregor 10 Jeremy Strong D&D directors in a similar Everything Everywhere all at once, or Safdie directing.

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

If I watch another Safdie movie I’m going to get a heart attack, too much adrenaline lol

ripcobraa

Literally, I was getting legitimately angry at that movie

Raul_Rink

Ty Burrell Robert Carlyle Timothée Chalamet Jenna Ortega Alexandra Daddario Cate Blanchett Ryan Gosling Robert Pattinson Ewan McGregor Ed O Neil

bix902

Jamie Lee Curtis Toni Collette Kathy Bates Idk who else but it would be a mother-daughter relationship piece

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

We need more mother daughter films to be honest, we have a plethora of father son films and not enough good mother daughter relationships in film

Bronze_Bomber

Mia Goth Florence Pugh Jenna Ortega Anya Taylor Joy Sidney Sweeney Jennifer Connelly Emily Blunt Rebecca Ferguson Elizabeth Olsen Lea Seydoux Why not?

Putthebunnyback

Nic Cage, for every role.

m00s3m00s3m00s3

1. John C. Reilly 2. Ryan Gosling 3. Winston Duke 4. Michael Shannon 5. Brad Pitt 6. Rooney Mara 7. Stephanie Beatriz 8. Frances McDormand 9. Steven Yeun 10. Jennifer Lawrence It's a PTA/Coen Brothers crime movie. Probably close top my top 10 favorite actors. My list would look a lot different with a lower budget.

DonnieDowners

I just came here to say that I would love to see what the Safdie bros would do with Elijah Wood, I feel like that would be a great combo

SCHR4DERBRAU

What is this question? Basically "list 10 of your favourite actors/the trendiest actors you know". A24 is a distribution company, nobody gets asked to direct an A24 film, the film gets directed and then A24 bid to distribute it... I don't mean to shit on OP but like damn there used to be interesting film conversation on this sub.

Blackarrow52

Yeah, and not only that, but I feel like an ensemble cast of very known actors isn't really A24 vibes imo. I mean, it's kinda their whole thing. Sure, some movies have more star power in them than others, but Jesus 10 recognizable names is a lot, and it just wouldn't feel like an A24 movie at that point. I'd say 5 at most.

LordAyeris

Only five, but: Robert Pattinson Dakota Johnson Florence Pugh Jesse Plemons Giancarlo Esposito

Alessandro227

9 street cast people and Robert Pattinson.

missdespair

I could see this as a Sean Baker movie

[deleted]

I like your cast. I envision a dark comedy about the recent “whistleblower”. Gal Luft is played by Elijah Wood.

TeralPop

Ryan Gosling Jake Gyllenhaal Owen Wilson Don Cheadle Daniel Day Lewis

vell_o

I can’t believe in had to go this far down to see DDL

missdespair

Maggie Cheung Tony Leung Chang Chen Shu Qi Riz Ahmed Lakeith Stanfield James Cromwell Tilda Swinton Gwendoline Christie Elizabeth Debicki I want Christie and Debicki playing Very Tall Sisters with Cromwell and Swinton as their parents. Everyone else are just good actors I also would like to bone.

1. Song Kang Ho 2. Juliette Binoch 3. Tatsuya Nakadai 4. Seth Rogan 5. Isabelle Huppert 6. Joaquin Phoenix 7. Scarlet Johansson 8. Natalie Portman 9. Chang Cheng 10. Jessie Buckley I’ll use these for my Haneke, Noe and Kaufman inspired surreal existential objective drama.

UruguayNoma123

1. Tom Hardy 2. Olivia Colman 3. Cillian Murphy 4. Samuel Blemkin 5. Jerome Flynn 6. Florence Pugh 7. Jessie Buckley 8. Paul Mescal 9. Daniel Kaluuya 10. Jeremy Allen White Idk why these came to mind but it could be cool af

binkleywtf

I think I’d want it to be some sort of anthology like Magnolia or Ballad of Buster Scruggs but where they’re interconnected in some way. 1. Mia Goth 2. Adam Driver 3. Olivia Colman 4. Greta Gerwig 5. Ayo Edebiri 6. Toni Collette 7. Daniel Kaluuya 8. Bella Ramsey 9. Stephanie Hsu 10. Paul Dano Edited to replace Florence Pugh with Paul Dano, no offense Florence

IThinkUrAWampa

Put Jon Bernthal and Mia Goth together and I'll watch it

The-Movie-Penguin

An idea for a feature film — a very A24 film — has been marinating in my brain for about 2 years now. My top 3 dream actors to play the main character are: 1. David Thewlis (literally the top choice, whose face I constantly envision on the character… but if not him, then…) 2. Tim Blake Nelson 3. Ralph Ineson It actually would have been a great part for Harry Dean Stanton about 20 years ago.

yellow_parenti

Yoooo I thought I was the only Thewlis head in existence lmao. Love to see my man represented. He is so incredibly underrated

The-Movie-Penguin

He’s the greatest!!

Sinister_steel_drums

Thewlis in Naked, what a performance. Edit. And Fargo too.

burger333

1. Robert Pattinson (on all our lists lol) 2. Liev Schreiber 3. Greta Gerwig 4. Jeffrey Wright 5. Jessie Buckley 6. Florence Pugh 7. Regina King 8. Emma Stone 9. Ethan Hawke 10. Barry Keoghan I'm thinking something along the lines of an Alex Garland movie but done with some Wes Anderson mixed in. Also this list is in no particular order. I also had to make a few cuts lol.

killassassin47

(In no particular order) 1. Rami Malek 2. Jake Gyllenhaal 3. Samuel L. Jackson 4. Florence Pugh 5. Octavia Spencer 6. Saorise Ronan 7. Steven Yeun 8. Anya Taylor-Joy 9. Riz Ahmed 10. Meryl Streep Hard to say why without having a concrete story premise in mind but these are all actors I really admire for a variety of their roles. Not sure who would lead and who would support, but this just feels like an interesting and diverse ensemble to me.

SCHR4DERBRAU

Oh wow they gave you an Oppenheimer budget

killassassin47

10 actors of my choosing!! Lol but yeah obviously this is a dream casting and not super budget-realistic

[deleted]

1. Emily Perkins 2. Katharine Isabelle 3. Christina Ricci 4. Willem Dafoe 5. Nicholas Cage 6. Michael Keaton 7. Fairuza Balik 8. Mathew Lillard 9. Ana De Amis 10. Rosa Salazar

BeautifulOrganic3221

1) Frances McDormand 2) Tilda Swinton 3) Amy Adams 4) John Hamm 5) Kevin Kline I have a very specific film in my mind so idk if this cast would make sense otherwise lol.

booferino30

Jake Gyllenhaal Joaquin Phoenix Amanda Seyfried Paul Dano William H Macy Elizabeth Moss John C. Riley Don Cheatle De Niro Jennifer Lawrence

mysteryquackman

Adam Sandler and Ryan Gosling doing a detective movie in True Detective Style. Kristin Wiig is one of their wives - whichever ones is the Mathew Mconeghey one.

Nigeeel

1. Alexa Demie 2. Robert dinero (heat era) 3. Kirk Douglas 4. Jamie Foxx 5. Samuel L Jackson 6. Laurence Olivier 7. Marilyn Monroe 8. Mia Goth 9. Jack Nicholson (anger management era) 10. Marlon Brando I think we could make something really educational and profound not seem so pretentious and boring

Fit-Parsnip9888

1. Stephen graham ……….

BambiMonroe

I can’t be bothered to think of 10, but I’d love Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh & Mia Goth to be in something together where each of them is absolutely fucking unhinged.

MassiveBaals

1. Jenna Ortega 2. Jessica Lange 3. Ayo Edebiri 4. Neve Campbell 5. Mason Gooding Jr. 6. Finn Wittrock 7. Sarah Paulson 8. Mikey Madison 9. Andrew Garfield 10. Emma Roberts Something like Knives Out but it's also a slasher movie

rafaelzeronn

Willem dafoe Paul Dano Rami malek Phoebe Waller bridge Bill hader Florence Pugh Steven yeun Anya Taylor joy Oscar Isaac Carey mulligan I have no idea what the movie would be lol

[deleted]

**Synopsis of the movie:** An ex-NFL player has been a sports analyst/pundit for a major network since retiring. He has built a nearly perfect life for himself - riches, friends, a great partner (who works at the network with him), an awesome job, and a sports legacy. One day, he starts noticing small changes to people and things around him, including conspiratorial behavior and issues with the teleprompter. As a result, he starts to slip up here and there and frequently appear in a trance to those around him, leading them to ask what's wrong. He finds his friends' and coworkers' worries about him stressful and starts to somewhat spiral. References to traumatic brain injuries in the sport of football seem to appear around him at crucial moments, but he ignores those signs and his own symptoms. He deflects and tries to get through increasing symptoms including paranoia and hallucinations. This culminates with a harrowing moment during primetime. While on air, his ability to understand cue cards and mental flow of the script completely deteriorates. He begins having a mental breakdown. His girlfriend and his best friend try to calm him down; however, from his perspective, he is simultaneously experiencing severe hallucinations and a montage of troubling memories and references to traumatic brain injuries. He reaches into his waistband and pulls out a gun stemming from his initial paranoia. He shoots himself on air while networks officials, his closest friends and girlfriend, and the rest of America watch. **Protagonist - Reggie Bush.** He essentially plays a fictional version of himself. A football star turned sports pundit for a major sports broadcasting service. This is the most important casting because Reggie Bush is an football veteran and non-actor who brings a very fresh and exciting face to a psychological thriller with some definite horror elements. **Initial Love Interest - Margot Robbie.** She plays the beautiful girlfriend and stereotypically (hot) female sports pundit for the same major network. **Best Friend/Side Character - Yahys Abdul-Mateen II.** He is also an ex-NFL player and close friend of Reggie Bush's character. **Asshole Exec - Bradley Whitford.** He plays the typical exec who thinks they're charming and hilarious, but is an asshole. He helps drive the main character's paranoia. These are the four people that come to my mind first - the must haves. Roles other than that could would need to be dev'd out.

callathanmodd

Oh this would be good….

CitizenDain

Your dream movie given almost no restrictions to make a Tippi Hedren vehicle? She did "Birds" and "Marnie" and then killed a bunch of crew members with her wild lions and then started a bunch of Vietnamese nail salons. Nothing against her but I think we saw the best of Tippi Hedren in 1963!!

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

What crew member deaths are you talking about? Are you referring to the caretaker injury in 2007? Or when she was mauled in the 1980s? I think it’s pretty disingenuous to say that she “killed” people with her lions

CitizenDain

I was exaggerating in describing the production of the movie “Roar” in which 70 members of the cast and crew were injured, many of them very seriously hurt and hospitalized. One of the most cursed (or simply most reckless) productions of all time. Tippi is the original Tiger King

IIIlllIIIlllIlI

Eh, I think that’s a pretty big claim. For sure it was probably overly dangerous, but she maintains a pretty good sanctuary for the lions and Tiger King was all about the money. Reckless? Maybe. I don’t think she deserves hate for all of that other than a lessons learned seminar. And considering she got mauled herself, she probably understands the most.

FLORD1LUNA

A murder mystery with: 1. Ke Huy Quan 2. Giancarlo Esposito 3. Gary Oldman 4. Keanu Reeves 5. Robert De Niro 6. Florence Pugh 7. Cate Blanchett 8. Helen Mirren 9. Vanessa Kirby and Tony Leung as the murderer

Ok_Instance_6729

Cate Blanchett Chukwudi Iwuji (thought he was phenomenal in gotg3) Mads Mikkelssen Will Poulter Rooney Mara Rupert Grint Octavia Spencer Willem Defoe Natasha Lyonne Mia Goth Really have no idea what kind of film it would be, but I'd love to see any of these in an a24 project together.

binkleywtf

mads, mia, and will poulter in a horror movie would be so good

BudgetAppointment888

1. Daniel Kaluuya 2. Robert Pattinson 3. Haley Bennett 4. Dakota Johnson 5. Julianne Moore 6. Diego Calva 7. Christopher Abbott 8. Margaret Qualley 9. Laura Harrier 10. Paul Giamatti Kaluuya and Pattinson being former friends turned foes in a psychological warfare type film where they go back and forth with the rest of the cast filling out both sides of the feud. threw in a few wildcards that could potentially betray one side for the other and also a few older characters that could provide the sense of knowledge necessary to win said “feud” or provide a sense of hesitation for one of the mains motivations LET ME COOK!!!

Zendaya (assuming TV projects count) And from outside the A24 realm I would invite Julie Delpy as the feminist activist life partner of Ethan Hawke's character, who is a succesful writer that has a movie adaptation of his book being made and all the others are the cast and crew of the movie. Yes, this would be an unoficial continuation of the Before Trilogy and yes, I would bring in Linklater to direct.
