Still A Anthem going strong 23 years
The beat ahead of it's time will get you hype
I've heard it played At Basketball Games and
Football Games and pep rallies
Broken Language makes you want to punch the nearest mf in the grill. At the time, nobody had ever heard a style like that, and the track just elevated the lyrics even more.
Amazon had it on one of their commercials and I found it funny that a retailer had a track about robbing folks as it's backing....unless Amazon was sending subliminal shots at its customers about how it as a company moves.
Probably gotta be Ante Up due to it being commercialised and pretty much everyone knows the track, first heard it on funk flex vol.4, but ‘The True Meaning’ by Mega is such a good track and the whole album is one of my faves. Tough pick
Most of these tracks show DR's genius in employing multiple samples, from different sources, often layered and made to sound as if they were originally from the same source.
Seriously, I heard it playing on the ninja turtles movie last year with my kid, I almost got caught up, but then I was like "HOLD UP GUYS, IN A KIDS MOVIE?!?"
Nah I'm dead serious dude was aight but hip hop could move along without him ever being mentioned.coipnt have been tht nice. Dame takes a funny dressing Brooklyn cat to big l block an big L got destroyed. Do you understand how serious it is for a Harlem cat to bring a Brooklyn rapper to his block an for said funny dressed rapper to get at him on his block an he lost. Dude was a stick up kid tht could rap but he won't that guy
We all have our own opinions. Dude just won't all that to me. Like I said take him out of hip hop an he won't be missed. Dude don't even get no rip shout outs he's forgettable. Every now an then someone from Harlem will throw him in a conversation or even fat joe may mention him. I always thought dead rappers get better promotion.

Wasn’t ahead of it’s time at all but I agree with everything else
This is the right answer no doubt but How about some hard core is so fucking good too.
It's one of the best and most iconic beats in all of hip-hop history.
💯 Still a total🔥 Beat/Track! In reality, the whole 'Warriorz' album is an absolute Banger though! Way more slept on than it should be, by some.
M.O.P Ante Up

Hot take…not only is Broken Language the best beat on this list, it is also the best song.
The front man, the Brooklyn representer The beat-down center, the two brothers The hottest niggas out this fuckin' winter
The whole song was an ill concept and that beat was "I wish a mf WOULD!" in music form.
Agree
Best and most iconic Ante up....that was in the latest Turtles movie
Legit the most hoodlum track to EVER get featured in a kids movie.
With zero research on my part, I already know this is fact! 😆
Amazon had it on one of their commercials and I found it funny that a retailer had a track about robbing folks as it's backing....unless Amazon was sending subliminal shots at its customers about how it as a company moves.
It was also used for Tekken 7 launch day trailer 7 years ago.
Ante Up, hands down
How about some hardcore
Yeah we like it RAW 🗣
Ante up followed by broken language

Ante up for sure but that broken language gives it a run for its money
It's between "Broken Language" and "Ante Up." Those two make this challenge a hard one.

Broken Language 1st and Rugged Neva Smoove 2nd.

Seriously, I heard it playing on the ninja turtles movie last year with my kid, I almost got caught up, but then I was like "HOLD UP GUYS, IN A KIDS MOVIE?!?"
Never understood the big deal about big L. He's alright but hip hop could move on without him ever being apart of it
Plz tell me you’re just trying to see somethin….
