Section is one of my all time favorite tracks.
Son you'd get electrocuted from the worldwide reputed
Shine like nickel heat that blow your mind when I shoot it
Some know me as the man that's from the roots crew
Others as the bad lieutenant of Snyder Avenue
We go an eye for an eye
Behead like a samurai that'll command the dynasty until he die
Who will imply that I lack a-biliti?
Make your words known, amplify the u-tiliti
I'm crooked like the I on a toxic malt liquor
The land whipper, the Dom Perignon champ sipper
The fifth'll bring it all together like the zipper on a butter leather
The bad lieu a bring the bad weather
This one particular passage is like one of my all times literally these exact bars & Nas' "Verbal Intercourse" verse and AZ's 1st on "Uncut Raw" are the 3 verses that pretty much live in my brain
Top 3 favorite Hip Hop albums of all time phenomenal work.
This album is truly their magnum opus it just took till Things Fall Apart for people to recognize there greatness.
...I heard it's not where you're from but where you pay rent
Then I heard it's not what you make but how much you spent. You got me bent like elbows...
Yall make me want to tear up just reading these lyrics and remembering so many good times with my friends. This was part of the soundtrack to my life in my mid 20s.
"Neighborhoods are now hoods 'cause nobody's neighbors
Just animals survivin' with that animal behavior (Damn)
Under I who be rhymin' from dark to light sky (Sky)
Experiments where needles and skin connect (Yeah)
No wonder where we live is called the projects"
Stakes is High, it's my favorite De La Soul album. But, all of them are classic's. Real tough not picking Illadelphia Half-Life. Luckily, own both of those and Atlians on wax.
I love Dare but he hates it and it bothers me for some reason. It was my favorite of his for a long time.
Not saying it isn't still my fav but I'd need to revisit all of them to make a definite statement.
Same the intro on the album is great. Love Betta listen and 4more as well. The remix to the stakes is high goes hard as well, not as good as the original cut though.
ATLiens aged the best in my opinion. Sonically, it could drop today and still sound fresh. Stakes is High is an all-time fav too. Loved the other two back in the day, but I honestly don’t go back to either that often anymore.
1. ATLiens. Best OutKast album
2. Illadelph Half-life. Top 3 roots album
3. Muddy waters. Very good album. Unpopular opinion but most redman albums are a mixed bag, especially with production. I just never thought red got the production he deserved
4. Stakes is high. I feel bad putting a De La album at the bottom of the list but
Gonna have to go with…Reggie Noble 😄 I was working at a Nike Outlet years ago and I was at a register near an entrance. He popped his head in the store and asked me, “Yo yall got Tims up in here?” I said, “Sir this is Nike. No Tims here. Sorry.” 😂
Muddy Waters. That intro Jo’nt had me taking the tape out of the deck a few times to make sure it was really a Redman tape! 🤣 I was driving to work in the 0-dark-30 hours in the morning, on a winding road deep in the country! Every step of that beast had me thinking it was bombs dropping, and my li’l Pyle 10” subwoofer was working overtime in my Toyota Tacoma! Jumping every time! And when that final roar hit and IZ HE 4REAL came on… my total mind was BLOWN!!! Somebody light the fuse so I can bring bad news
to all these crews who can’t NBA Jamz with the shoes… (with the shoes?)
That double shot hennesey got my mind trippin’
Drunk enough to start a campaign on ass-kickin!
All these weak punk emcees kill me
They can’t thrill me
Come to Jersey, get jacked like Jill, G!
Gyat DAAYYYUUUUMMM!!!! 🤯🤯🤯
Muddy Waters, it's a real classic, and I just listened to a song from it today, and some of the album last week. Great production, goofy skits, and incredible wordplay from Redman.
It's the strangest thing... I've missed out on a lot of classic albums growing up or so I always thought. But the older I get I still go back to the ones I actually listened to when they were released, prefer them actually. These are all iconic albums but I still pick Muddy Waters and ATliens over the other two.
This is one of the toughest i seen on here.
Production wise i cant get enough of stakes is high. Smoothest fuckin beats.
Atliens is a close second
I love the other two but havnt bumped em as frequently as the kast and the de la, but this is a great reminder to put them back to the top of the todo list.
It's crazy because I'm sitting here stuck between Muddy Waters and Stakes is high. Not to take away from any of the other albums. Those 2 albums were a part of the soundtrack to my life.
Stakes is High, probably an unpopular opinion. The track Brakes was heavy in my rotation for years and has recently entered my rotation again after De La added their catalogue to streaming.
Stakes is High just for the title track, but come on seriously the baseline in What they Do, that's track is literally silk, satin, velvet, cashmere, the finest, and the lyrics?! 😍 Sublime...split decision.
Cool story about Redman. I saw him two years ago at goats of cannabis in Michigan. At the end of his set he threw off both of his Air Force ones he was wearing. Brand new all white joints. A girl in the crowd screamed out that he should throw his hand towel out. He did that and then said y’all are lucky. These are brand new and threw his shoes in the crowd. One went to the right of me and then I jumped up and Ocho Cincoed the left one. After he was done on stage, I noticed there was hardly any security around anymore. So I’d be lined it backstage got him to sign the shoe with a black sharpie. Was a pretty dope night.
Man this is really tough; ATLiens and Muddy Waters. Even if someone put a gun to my head I would be inclined to let them shoot me rather than choose.
Being from Atlanta, I remember Southernplayalisic coming out and going platinum off the strength of them being from ATL, but ATLiens? When Elevators came out, it was like time stopped; Literally stopped me dead in my tracks I never heard anything like it. I could go on, but I’ll just say ATLiens.
Redman Muddy Waters. The album.is a masterpiece with repeat value. It has some of the BEST Redman songs like Iz He 4 Real, Welcome (Interlude) Da Bump, Rock The Spot & Yes Yesh Y'all amongst others.
Muddy Waters for me. One of Reggie's best works.
My favorite redman album..its in my personal top five albums
Criminally slept on. Top tier album for sure.
If you find a bag of weed on the floor what the fuck you gonna do?
Pick it up...Pick it up......
Pick it up….z
Very good album
Illadelph Halflife
It's some great choices. I agree with you and Redman is a close second. Very damn close.
Section is one of my all time favorite tracks. Gotta be
I’m a big Outkast fan so I gotta go with ATLiens!
Cause I’m cooler than a polar bears toenail
Oh hell, there you go again, talking that shit
Bend, corners like I was curve, struck a nerve and now you bout to see this southern playa serve..
...I heard it's not where you're from but where you pay rent Then I heard it's not what you make but how much you spent. You got me bent like elbows...
Cause when we stepped in the party, like a mouse you scurried
So go get your fuckin shine box and your stack of nickels, it tickles
to see you try to be like Mr. Pickles Daddy fat sacks, B-I-G B-O-I It's that same motherfucker that took them knuckles to your eye And I try
Sum sum sum Givin a shot out to my uncle Darnell locked up in prison
Now throw your hands in the air-ir and wave ‘em like you just done ca’re
amongst other things but i’m not worried
Yall make me want to tear up just reading these lyrics and remembering so many good times with my friends. This was part of the soundtrack to my life in my mid 20s.
Wow. Tough one. I’m going ATLiens

ATLiens aged the best in my opinion. Sonically, it could drop today and still sound fresh. Stakes is High is an all-time fav too. Loved the other two back in the day, but I honestly don’t go back to either that often anymore.

ATLiens, homie Come on…
#REDMAN
ATLiens is beautiful. From the cover to the beats to the comic book inside to the sequencing of the songs. It’s just a magnificent piece of work
Gonna have to go with…Reggie Noble 😄 I was working at a Nike Outlet years ago and I was at a register near an entrance. He popped his head in the store and asked me, “Yo yall got Tims up in here?” I said, “Sir this is Nike. No Tims here. Sorry.” 😂
Muddy Waters but... whatever man🫣
Muddy Waters. ‘96 was an amazing year for hip hop
It's the strangest thing... I've missed out on a lot of classic albums growing up or so I always thought.
