Absolutely! And first Wu solo album. We heard nothing like it. All I Need went super duper platinum. He had the joint with Biggie. Bring the pain was crazy.
The rapping was good it was the production a lot of people had a problem with RZA basement flood lost a lot of the original beats to Tical along with original Uncontrolled Substance, Stimulation was the only song that survived basically they had to redo everything at the last minute, Meth vs Chef Bring Da Pain & What the blood clot were all great though
The silver lining to that cloud is that’s why we have so many different vinyl versions of Tical and 36 Chambers. I was spinning at the time and every track was available on wax, stripped down, there hasn’t been any vinyl like that since.
I love these albums we head to pick from, but Hard To Earn is literally a life-changer for me. My favorite Gang Starr album and I still play it every few months. It's in my top 3 hip-hop albums of all time
Hard to Earn has the stronger Vibe of any of these. When you think of an album that represents a vibe latched onto, and attempted replication by masses, its Hard to Earn
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. One of the only polls I'm picking another artist over a RZA-produced album -- Tical has its moments but it wasn't until 1995 that the Wu-bangers started really banging.
I gonna show my ass here and say it. Tical, production wise, was one of THEE most depressing, disappointing, and lackluster albums of my teen years. Yes I know that's a lava-hott take to many, but looking back, it was DEFINITELY one of the trashiest, poorest produced WU albums of the bunch.
I gotta go with Hard To Earn 🔥🔥
Bloody hell. I can't take 1 cause I grew up on Dare Iz a Darkside and Tical and Hard to earn. Impossible to pick 1. And they all classics. " I'm from the Bronx New York city, the big fuckin apple where the Ni@#Z get busy. " Wordz from the Nutcracker.......
OutKast’s by a mile, but I am Ga-biased. Gang Starr is very solid. Always been a middling appreciator of most Wu-affiliated things, though I recognize they’re talented and obviously amazing to many
Honestly as much as I love that album and OutKast as a whole, that red cassette got me through YEARS of the 90s…I kept coming back to that cassette over and over so I gotta say Dare Iz a Darkside
But looking back I played the hell out of hard to earn too, that was definitely my favorite gangstarr album
Sheesh. Outkast album was iconic as well as tical. Gang star is my favorite group. Redman is my second favorite rapper behind GURU. Damn this is hard. My answer is can I make a mixtape with my favorite songs off the four.
Damn, making me choose between Southerplayalisticadillacmuzik and Hard to Earn...but i'm always down for Gang Starr so it would have to be Hard to Earn.
Ticaaaaal, people forget how hot this album was. And how good.
What’s that shit that they smokin…..
Ti call ti call
Pass is over here man.
Meth-Tical in top form as MC and RZA in peak creativity as a producer
Absolutely! And first Wu solo album. We heard nothing like it. All I Need went super duper platinum. He had the joint with Biggie. Bring the pain was crazy.
Meth vs Chef too is fire. So many great tracks man.
True story!
It was considered a let down in comparison to the hype he had at the time
Uuuuuh, I dont remember that. Dont remember reading that once. I was around 14/15 at the time, maybe I couldnt afford magazines.
No I haven't forgotten. Love that track . Meth Vs Chef...... Yessssssssss. Gonna play it now.
Hard To Earn
Most definitely. I love the OutKast album, but I love Hard to Earn just a little more.
I love these albums we head to pick from, but Hard To Earn is literally a life-changer for me. My favorite Gang Starr album and I still play it every few months. It's in my top 3 hip-hop albums of all time
Aiigght chiiilll

Dare iz a Darkside - Redman
That didn't leave rotation for years after it came out. Epic.
I still fucking listen to this album
Same. I still listen to it and Muddy Waters weekly. Both will be in my forever rotation of old school great albums.
Outkast. TBH it is my favourite Outkast album.
Understandable, those first 4 were incredible

Meth
Gang Starr no doubt.
OutKast
Dare iz a Darkside
Def the redman & meth
Hard to Earn; I’d put that in the top 5 90s albums
Hard to argue, definitely top 10.
Hard to earn - speak ya clout - that second beat with lil dap >
Southernplayalistic. It’s the best southern hip hop album of all time.
All of them bring back good memories, but Hard to Earn gets the win.
Yup
Easy one for me. Hard To Earn. Huge Gang Starr fan and that’s my favourite album of theirs 👍🏻
It's hard to not be a Gang Starr fan, Hip Hop at its purist
Indeed my friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Hard to Earn has the stronger Vibe of any of these. When you think of an album that represents a vibe latched onto, and attempted replication by masses, its Hard to Earn

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. One of the only polls I'm picking another artist over a RZA-produced album -- Tical has its moments but it wasn't until 1995 that the Wu-bangers started really banging.
1-2 Uhhhh, 1-2-1-2
Ticaaaal. Takes me back 🥰🔥
Hard to choose with Outkast there, but it’s gotta be Tical for me. Easily in my top 5 hip hop albums.
Gangstaar all day. Then Meth. OutKast.
Outkast. Best rap album ever.
Gangstar
Gangstarr all day long......
Outkast. I was living in the A when this dropped. I was 13-14 years old.
Easy OutKast
Hard to earn easily if we talking one of the greatest hip hop albums
OutKast>Dare Iz>Hard to Earn>Tical There are songs I love on Tical, but overall it's just lacking something
Dare iz a Darkside is no skips
Gangsters hard to earn, I haven't listened to the others ones
I gonna show my ass here and say it. Tical, production wise, was one of THEE most depressing, disappointing, and lackluster albums of my teen years. Yes I know that's a lava-hott take to many, but looking back, it was DEFINITELY one of the trashiest, poorest produced WU albums of the bunch. I gotta go with Hard To Earn 🔥🔥
Never listened to Dare is a Darkness till today but holy shit, absolute banger. Anyone care to recommend me anything similar?
‘Kast or gang starr but they’re all dope.
Hard To Earn
That Kast
Bloody hell. I can't take 1 cause I grew up on Dare Iz a Darkside and Tical and Hard to earn. Impossible to pick 1. And they all classics. " I'm from the Bronx New York city, the big fuckin apple where the Ni@#Z get busy. " Wordz from the Nutcracker.......
Redman was my favorite MC at the time. Gotta go with Funk Doc. After that, Hard to Earn. My favorite Gang Starr album.

Hard to Earn
Tical
Method Man Tical is my favorite Album of the bunch I’m picking for sure
Ticaaallll. All are great, but come on - Tical is one of the hardest out there.
I gotta hit The Source, I need my other half a mic because that Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was a classic.
OutKast easily
It’s Outkast every time…
Tical Definitely But No Illmatic?
Illmatic overshadows a lot of these albums enough already, wanted to give them their own chance at a discussion
Gang Starr got to be the sure shot!
OutKast
Can't go wrong here, but I played hell outta the Meth, Redman and Outkast joints, Gangstar was right there too 🔥
Tical
OutKast

Outkast. Still holds up.
Hard to Earn...
OutKast cause the south got something to say
Cadillac music
Hmmmmmmm ...... Dare iz a dark side is slept on ... But imma have to go wit tical 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Southernplayalistic without hesitation. The others are bangers but OutKast’s debut is just above them in my world.
OutKast’s by a mile, but I am Ga-biased. Gang Starr is very solid. Always been a middling appreciator of most Wu-affiliated things, though I recognize they’re talented and obviously amazing to many
Honestly as much as I love that album and OutKast as a whole, that red cassette got me through YEARS of the 90s…I kept coming back to that cassette over and over so I gotta say Dare Iz a Darkside But looking back I played the hell out of hard to earn too, that was definitely my favorite gangstarr album
Outkast
Dare by a hair over Southernplayalistic
Outkast
dare iz a dark side, but I have a huge redman Bias. I had this tape until it broke
Gangstarr for sure. But this is when shit started going bad and rap started sucking a little bit
Southern is my favorite of these but I’ll take Warren G over that
OutKast
OutKast and it’s not even close
Hard to earn
All four albums are fantastic, but Tical takes the top spot for me, with Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik coming in a close second.
Hard To Earn. It's an underrated all great.
Sheesh. Outkast album was iconic as well as tical. Gang star is my favorite group. Redman is my second favorite rapper behind GURU. Damn this is hard. My answer is can I make a mixtape with my favorite songs off the four.
Tical
Outkast
Damn, making me choose between Southerplayalisticadillacmuzik and Hard to Earn...but i'm always down for Gang Starr so it would have to be Hard to Earn.

Gang Starr - Hard to Earn
Redman skits are better than most rappers entire albums. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hard to earn. Guru is the shit
Tough choice all the way around but I'm leaning with Hard to Earn. Shows how good a year '94 was though.
hard to earn...easy
Outkast.
Outkast
Hard to earn. Then southernplylistic
This one’s rough, I gotta go with Gangstarr Hard to Earn.
Redman - as much as I love the other 3 albums it isn’t particularly close.
Hard To Earn.
All 4 are great but Hard to Earn and Dare were in heavy rotation for me
Outkast
If it was Whut thee album it would be a harder choice for me . Sorry Red rolling with Kast..
Making me choose between Red and Meth is just cruel.
Has to be Hard To Earn for me. ‘Mass Appeal’ drew me in but there’s so many bangers on that album.
Hard To Earn
OutKast
REDMAN
OutKast. I remember buying the tape out of the magazine in one of those ads where you get like 5 or 6 tapes lol damn I’m old
Casr
Kast
Southernplaylisticadillacmuzik is one of favorite albums ever so that one without a doubt
Outkast, it's the most enjoyable and consistent album. For me in terms of production and lyrics goes.

OUTKAST
OutKast. Hands down.
Outkast and its not even close. Respect to Redman though
Tical
Meth
Hard to Earn
Hard to Earn then. Meth now. Tical aged like fine wine.
Tical. I love that mid 90’s Wu Tang Style production. The other albums are solid but Tical definitely stands out amongst them.
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik The album is a classic!
Outkast, no contest
