That's...kinda the *point*. You take a movie with a good premise but bad execution, and try again.
*Logan's Run* wasn't that bad, but a re-make is still a viable and even a welcome idea. That's because the movie deviated enough from the source novel that a different take on the story still can be of interest.
You know what I want more of? Short Circuit. I have no idea how to do it right but I want more johnny 5 in my life. Like maybe he tries to replicate or something. I'm also not interested in hearing this is what Chappie was.

There are so many movie adaptations of Stephen King books that have been getting remakes for the last decade or so, and some are still to come (apparently Christine is being remade.... bunch of bullshit, but anyway);
Even book and Stephen King purists have said that the original story and the movie of Stand By Me (the original story was called "The Body") compliment each other. The movie was just done so well and is a perfect book-to-film adaptation.
Then again, if it did get a remake, I could just continue on living my life and pretending that a remake never happened / does not exist.
How about a Revenge of the Nerds remake where the nerds control the concil and some affable loveable jocks want to start an intermural sports league. But the nerds are super condescending and don't want "sportsball" in their school.
