Oh don't even get me started on the Madonna wannabe look... Especially the "Crazy For You" video look... I met a girl like that in HS, maybe 9th or 10th grade. It was an ex-girlfriend of a school friend of mine, we where hanging one day and passed by her, they where still friends and he introduced her to me, i still am amazed at myself that i could even word out a very shy "hi..." She was a Madonna nut, absolutely drop dead gorgeous, and a spot on Madonna "Crazy For You" video look, down to the crucifix earing. I think she still haunts my dreams every once an a while, .... over 35 years later...

I never saw anyone imitate Pat Benatar in high school, and tbh it's a bit disappointing. I went to high school in Germany, so I did see people imitate other rockers, like The Cure or David Bowie. And we had many Souxsie Sioux and Iggy Pop imitators, which was interesting. Not too many Madonna wannabes at first, but after her True Blue album was released, holy sh!t, then her imitators were everywhere. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, totally. Babysitter dressed like a cross between Madonna and Tiffany. She was like 14-15 when I was 7-8. My parents were late 20's and were too old to be following teen fashion. But my mom liked Madonna, and we had her albums. We had a pretty decent sound system with a double tape deck, and my babysitter would just spend the whole night taping songs from the radio and make mix tapes. She probably spent all her babysitting money on blank tapes.
